Chapter 1: Welcome to Heartwell

The Intercontinental hotel, A large and fully operational hotel located in the city of Heartwell, in Diamond Heights. It's a well cared for and maintained structure with a competent staff and a variety of amenities available for the guests, including a laundry service, a lounge and restaurant, and a driver and car for VIP customers.

This, of course, was all the public face of the Intercontinental. Few mortals were aware of the hotels complete list of amenities available, nor who owned the property. A group of Independent kindred, operating within a fiercely contested city. A highly valued, and oftentimes deniable asset within the inner workings of the cities political landscape.

The Vehme as they were known, held sway here, over the hotel. Running the building, and the surrounding block as their own private kingdom. The Anarchs, and even grudgingly the Camarilla, allow them this in exchange for their service in helping to maintain the most crucial asset all Kindred have. The Masquerade.

Our scene opens, in a conference room, on the highest floor of the Hotel. The members of the Vehme have assembled on what has so far been a rather uneventful evening.

Chapter 1: Welcome to Heartwell

Alice entered the conference room in her customary hoodie and sleeveless denim jacket combo. Once inside and away from ortal eyes she pulled down her hood and took a seat. Alice began rfiling through her stachel bag and bgan reading through incident reports and occasionally scanning gruesome pictures of skinned or tortured bodies.

Alice continued to flick through the files a she waited for the others to arrive and soon there was a small spread on the table of thin folders and pictures as Alice rearranged them repeatedly.

Chapter 1: Welcome to Heartwell

Andrew was next to enter the conference room.  He adjusted the golden cufflink on his right wrist as he walked over to the table.  "Good evening, anything interesting?"  Andrew asked Alice as he sat across the table from her.
Andrew and Alice looked as if from different worlds, with Alice in her casual hoodie and Andrew in a fine designer charcoal suit.

Chapter 1: Welcome to Heartwell

Alice glanced up at Andrew and flashed a smile filled with reptilian fanags that made even the sweetest smile seem predatory and threatening. Despite her maw her voice was clear, soft and precise if a little at odds with her appearance. "A few interesting cases, one or two could be kindred that were a little enthusiastic but nothing too obvious or anythign that couldn't be written off as a gangland message." she had returned to reading the documents as she spoke and glanced up at Andrew for a moment to read his expression before continuing with her reading. "Any of these friends of yours?"

Alice roughly slid three of the small files over to andrews side of ther table. two of them were young men anda girl that seemed barely in her 20's, all three had blatant tattos covering their arms in sleeves and appear to have been stabbed to death with cuts covering the bodies. "I think the cuts were post-mortem, so long as its no one associated with any of us I might see if I can have a chat with one of them." Alice arched her back like a cat and began returning several of the folders back into her bag before clicking through the pictures on her camera, a couple of adulters and an aging couple that might be linked to a string of child murders in their neighbourhood. Little more than side jobs or people of interest to Alice but she seemed pleased upon reviewing the latest images.

"So how has business been at the Continental? don't hear much from down in my rooms. There hasn't been any major incidents in the hotel i haven't heard about?"

Chapter 1: Welcome to Heartwell

Andrew picked up files and started to peruse them. "Business is good, as far as I can tell."  He said looking at the tattoos.  "My focus has been elsewhere.  Some kine have foolishly been encroaching on my territory.  They did not realise what they had got themselves into."  Andrew said looking up with a smile.  There was a wickedness to the smile, it was in stark contrast to his very business like demeanor.
"I do not think this is related."  He continued nodding towards the files.

Chapter 1: Welcome to Heartwell

Arriving last, Jesse did so with a flair and style all his own. The Jazzman Fidora cocked to the side on his head, his shirt sleeves rolled up, his jeans covering combat boots. He is dressed to entertain, which is where he had been, playing the early set so that he could leave the club for their meeting. "Hello Andy, Ally, you rang and I respond. The hotel runs itself, mostly. The Frog (The Blue Frog, his Jazz Club) turns a profit, lures them in for me to lull them." He chuckled as he turned a chair around backwards and sat astride it. He knew he was the one who was most in touch with the hotel itself, as he was the neutral party among his small coutery. He looked at the files upside down and pointed to the one of the trio in their twenties, "I've seen them in The Frog a couple times. Good tippers, jazz lovers, had my eye on the lass. Too bad someone beat me to that art. Fascinating how they arranged their blood spatter and death by a thousand cuts. Whoever they are I'm already jealous of their artistic talents." His eyes are indeed filled with jealousy. He took on a much more menacing quality, growling as he stared at the photos, "Yea whoever they are, I hate them. Can't have someone with talent like that rivaling mine. We need to go to work." He drummed his fingers on the table and licked his lips as his eyes followed the blood on the photo.

Chapter 1: Welcome to Heartwell

Alice put done her camera and moved around the table to retrieve the files and place them back in her bag. "This is just side business, don't know if it was kindred or mortals that cut them up. I just wanted to make sure that Andrew wasn't involved before i look into it. Don't want to burn bridges here for sake of a few bucks after all." Alice grinned her jagged smile and returned to her seat. "I imagine business has been good for you as always Jesse? Always people wanting other killed after all." Alice spoke in a matter of fact tone whilst scrolling through he camnera images again and occasionally licking her lips and teeth.

Chapter 1: Welcome to Heartwell

Jesse was disappointed when Alice took the 0hotos away. He pouted a little but kept up the conversation, "I only do hits on Kindred, you know, but yeah I've got some irons in the fire. I wouldn't mind helping out with your side business. Those pictures intrigue me."
