Very true. Roughly early modern courts tended to include duels, assassinations, etc.

Jester was about the only safe position to have.

Barnutan has made 3 exp rolls, resulting in +2 to combat, +8 to mechanics, and +7 to evasion.
He now has default fluency in Dellvarian at 24.

He was not able to indulge his passion for technological progress or loyalty to his family. However, he did feast upon the bounty of the sea and land. Upon further consideration, Barnutan's fascination with the mechanical traps of the cavern might represent an indulgence of his passion for progress.

What becomes of our unspent Group Luck? Does that roll over into the next chapter to join the fresh supply?

A minor housekeeping thing: I would change the status of the non-participating players in the cast to lurkers, so that people checking out the game see that it has 3 active players.

Still struggling with that CharSheet filling out, equipment and all that. Not expecting any rolls just now I allowed for an IC.
Bit clumsy with only mobile phone.

Talk about equipment - what can we afford with 150 silver?

How many refugees are we talking about?

Depends on what you're looking for, of course.  The equipment list in the rulebook is considerably shorter than in, say, most editions of D&D, but here are a few examples to give you an idea of what standard prices look like:
Armor, fur or leather (1 armor) - 20sp per location covered (140sp for a full suit)
Armor, padded or quilted (2 armor) - 80sp per location (560 for a full suit)
Weapons - 100sp could get you a mace, battleaxe, shortsword, or whip, while the full 150 would get you a lance or a light crossbow
Shields - 150sp buys a heater or target shield, both of which can protect 3 hit locations; a mere 50 will get you a buckler, which only protects 2 hit locations
Other items - 150sp could get you a top-quality winter coat or cloak, two top-quality suits or dresses, a medium-sized lockbox, two full sets of crafting tools, two unspecified musical instruments, three weeks' rent at a reasonable townhouse, or the best pig (or worst ox) on the farm

There are a few land vehicles listed, but no ships.  Loosely extrapolating from what is in here, I would say that something worthy of 'Sandra's ambitions is going to start at at least 15,000sp.

For the record, there are also rules here for making your own stuff if anyone wants to try their hand at that...

It's late summer.  You expect things will start cooling down in a couple of weeks, but you're still some time away from winter coat territory.

Makawmano - you are not trained in a combat style which includes the crossbow, or even anything close.  That means that your skill for shooting with it would be a mere STR+DEX.  Stealthy ranged attacks are not going to be your forte anytime soon.  If you want to increase your killing power and don't mind being obvious about it, I would allow you to use a mace in place of a club within the Island Warrior style.  That would cost you 100sp, and bump your damage up from 1d6 to 1d8.

If you can find someone to train you in a Dellavrian fighting style then that would also work, though it'll take a bit longer (depending on how good of a trainer you get, it would probably take 2-3 months to get you up to around 50%).

And where/how far is that refugee camp again?

It's in the western mountain pass.  I don't think I ever said anything about distance, so let's call it two days' walk.
