"And the sword is not with him." Sakura adds. "It is somewhere else. I think the best thing is to get him out of here and take him somewhere safe while you investigate further."

"Let's find him a paper and ink to write. He has to tell us if he knows something about the Daisho. Bayushi Sakura, you go back with Hanashi. We will explore a little more here."

Ryu was sure that if there was anyone who could make him speak, it was Sakura. But at the same time, time was of essence and they couldn't stop there. Not now. "When you have something, come with us here."

Sakura You take Hanashi back out of the catacombs. He does not resits and keeps attempting to communicate with you.

Rest of Group You watch as Sakura escorts Hanashi out of the catacombs.  You continue down the hallway and come to a closed door.

"Aye, one moment." John reset the fall trap so people could walk across before he checked the indicated door. "Keep in mind I make traps, so I know a trick or two. but I don't hold a candle to a true trap breaker."

John gave a thumbs up before checking if it was locked. If there was a trap he missed he was going to take responsibility for it. He would, however, wait to open the door till everyone was ready.

The fact that Ryu was getting ready lead John to think it was time. So he slowly opened the door hoping his eye was good enough to catch any traps or people on the other side.

Chapter 2: Into the Catacombs

John You open the door.  It creaks open on rusty hings giving a loud groan.

Akira You peer inside the room.  It is a large room about 25 feet wide and about 30 feet long.

Going clockwise: You see two empty bathtubs lying cracked and rotting in the corners of the north wall.  All doors are closed: There is a door in the middle of this wall.  There are weapon racks along the east wall with another door on the wall.  In the far southeast corner there is what looks like a well, you cannot tell from the doorway for sure.  There is another door in the southwest.  Closest to you on your right is another door

"All right. All right. Can you hear me? I need you to calm down." She says to Hanashi "What is the problem, you can't speak?" she looks around to see if there is any paper and ink and pen near them.

Sakura Hanashi looks at you with a pained expression and nods his head in agreement.  Your guessing he is answering your question about being able to speak.  You quickly look around and as luck would have it there is a quill and paper nearby. Looking at the paper you can tell it is an inventory for the castle.

"This is a good place to wait for Bayushi Sakura." Ryu looks at his companions. "In the meantime, let's investigate. I think we have enough things to do while we wait for her."
Ryu slowly approaches to the well, to see if there is any water still there and if there has been any signs of recent use.

Ryu You walk over to the corner where the well is.  Upon inspecting the area you notice that a bucket besides the well is in good repair.  It is tied to an iron ring in the wall with a good rope.

Bayushi The paper you read is an inventory of supplies in the castle.  It shows the amount of saki stored, amount of preserved foods.  It does not show weapons or their location.  Handing the paper to Hanashi, he quickly writes that a ninja took the weapon and that Hanashi followed him into the catacombs where he fell into the trap that your group took him out of.

Akira You take a look at the weapons rack.  They are all very old and rusted beyond repair.  Upon further investigation you do notice one that looks slightly less beat up then the rest.  After a further test you see that it is well made and balanced.

OOC There is no lights in the catacombs but there are plenty of wall torches if you wish to light them.  All the doors are unlocked and not trapped.  I cannot reveal about what might be in the rooms themselves.

"The ninja... how did he know how to steal it? There are safe measures that would be triggered by anyone without the knowledge to bypass them. Is he a servant in this castle? Did you recognize him?" Sakura asks quickly.

Sakura Hanaishi shakes his head in the negative. He writes that the ninja was wearing a mask and he could not see his face so there is no way to tell who he might have been.

"Right, so it is normal back home that when in a new place with lots of doors, just keep taking left turns along the walls and you get to the end of the maze. So start with the left door and work our way right? Not seeing any traps or locks so that is a plus but we also know halls can be trapped here..."
