Nyx:
Hey guys sorry it's taking me a minute but I am trying to finish with my character soon. Hoping to have it done tonight. Again sorry for the delay.
Btw as for what I was thinking in regards to alchemist is I had a game where the dm let me collect recipes for a recipe book so that I could make a bunch of different potions using the alchemist kit. These potions included some healing and several different types of others as well all of which I had to go to different alchemists and apothecaries to collect. I was hoping I could get the gm here to let me do the same here, but I get it if that's a no. It is a bit of extra work.
Is this a side hustle or your character's main schtick?
If It is a side hustle, then it might be a bit much, but that is up to you and DM.
If this is your main thing then you should either look into taking levels in Artificier (Alchemist) or wizard (whatever/I suggest Abjurist). The wizard's spell book becomes a "receipt book" and the above suggestions from Beargus ans Gevi are sound.
I really like the idea of an Apothecary flavored wizard. The only real issue I see is with healing spells. In order to get those you need to either multiclass (not the best idea as Wizards are good at every level) or pick up Healer feat. The herbalism kit is designed this way already, no need to reinvent it, just reflavor it as part of your Apothecary studies.
Ultimately your going to have to choose between wizard spell progression/goodies and multiclassing. If you choose the later the obvious choice is Artificier, it works with same ability mod and gives a wonderful IC connection to Gevi.
