Stumps Cross

Beside a half-finished roundabout on the building site that will soon be the M11 motorway, Joe the Goblin holds court in a gilded palace that he is not even bothering to hide from mundane eyes.

Alice arranged a meeting place close to Joe's 'hangout' for herself and the girls.  This was a last chance to compare notes.  Alice had picked out a black suit and skirt to wear, accessorized by glasses, a Watcher's pin, and with her hair worn up.  She was playing into the watcher stereotype.  Alice did bring a sheathed fencing sword, secured with a 'peace-knot' but otherwise it was a plain looking weapon.  Something she could afford to lose.  And there was a formal gift for Joe as well.

"Right, is everyone here and ready?  I did some checking... and found no direct causalities caused by Joe and his men.  As for the Slaugh themselves, they were devoted to Herne the Hunter for a long while... and are generally outcasts from both faerie Courts."

Edit: fixed Herne’s name

Ann wasn't so smartly dressed, opting for the classic flared jeans with a t-shirt. She had a breadknife stuffed down her jeans; not the sharpest of weapons, but it was steel, and it would have Slayer strength behind it if she ever needed it.

"I'm ready. Do we have any idea how many Slaugh are there with Joe? I'm worried about whether I can protect everyone if things get a little tasty."

"Cool. He's looking more and more like the good guy" Elissa commented "Bet you Herne the Hunter didn't care about casualties."

"I'm almost looking forwards to this. With luck it's 'in, chat and out'. Are we going to do this properly and define a primary objective and secondaries... or are we just going to wing it?"

She nodded at Ann. If it was up to her they wouldn't be coming, but it wasn't.

Alice shook her head in a 'no' manner when Ann asked if she knew how many Slaugh there were.

"Its hard to plan with 'people' of this kind, Elissa.  The best we can do is to adapt to whatever unfolds and remember our core principles... averting harm to the public, brokering a truce or alliance, and getting a better understanding of the situation."

She looked around to see if Goffrey was present somewhere.  He'd missed the girls meeting so he might be unclear on what his role was.
