This week the Arts Cinema will be showing The Chess Players directed by Sayajit Ray.  This is the first ever showing of this film in the UK.

On television, this week's episode of The Professionals ('In The Public Interest') has Bodie and Doyle intervening after the Chief Constable has turned an unnamed city into a virtual police state, reducing the crime rate to zero except for the crimes committed by the police in denying the young their civil rights.

Meanwhile at the ABC on Regent Street, the main film is Grease starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John.
