Ok,

send a list of your preparations and adjust your sheets accordingly. You can meet Bross at the bridge.

Re: OOC

yeah, sorry, Hargrin's going to have to challenge that one a bit, if I could have him catch folks for a minute before they actually leave the room. Things happened quickly last evening and night and everyone started leaving while I was sleeping :)

I know no one actually said Catrina's name, but I don't think it'd be too hard to work out who Nighthill and Sora are talking about.

Yeah poor Cat !! I’m sorry, no hard feelings. Amorette’s going to have to agree with the dwarf because… ya know. But it’ll give her the chance for a pretty sweet redemption!

Re: OOC

Just so everyone knows, my character doesn't isolate anyone out or anything- her character is just very dark and abrasive at times, so please don't take any personal offence.

You will realise why when you get to know her, but for now she cares for her personal safety, and though she sees cat as a fool, she also sees her as a useful one

Re: OOC

Depending upon whether Catrina learns to control her inner Orc, I can see Ac (IC) staring balefully at her and remarking (to quote the old Laurel and Hardy catchphrase) "Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into!" :)

Re: OOC

I as a player don't take personal offence at how Sora is, and I don't think Hargrin does either. But 'dark and abrasive' isn't always going to be well-received (for example, she may have meant her words as obvious practicality, but they did come out as, well, directives at best) and he may dig in his heels and draw a line if he thinks he had to, until what has his feathers ruffled gets straightened out or gotten over.

Hargrin's open to changing his mind on Cat too, by the way. He's just not impressed by what he's seen thus far. Maybe she'll show to better effect outside the town gates?

I'd like to second Bross' question- are we supposed to post our joining him, will that be a DM post, or the start of a new thread?

Re: OOC

DM,

I've kinda lost track of the time, in-game. How much of a head start does the caravan of wagons carrying the loot and the prisoners have over the rescue party?

Thanks.

It is late afternoon. The prisoner exchange occurred around 8am. Their reargurd has around an 8 hour lead. It has been raining hard for about 3 hours.

Re: OOC

-Antru got a second horse for Catrina, and gave that to her- he actively posted about it.

-Bross already took the "mount" the guards were foisting off on Catrina and repurposed it as a pack animal. If it's a problem animal, Bross' entire backstory is "farm kid", I'll gladly roll for Animal Handling, as its his problem now.

-This AH roll would be separate from the "click" he did for Alleycat's horse.

Thanks. Good to know.

I was thinking that it had moved on into evening, in-game. Sounds like I overdid it when I wrote how dark it was.

Re: OOC

Bross Tallcut:
[Ooc: so Bross' general idea, for starters, is to ride to get within visual range of the wagons, preferably from high-ground, like a hill. If we don't make a spectacle of ourselves we should get a good look. Anyone opposed?]

Works for me (and Ac, IC). My suggestion would be to have Antru and Ac a little out in front of the main column of pursuers, just in case they have to go into Stealth mode (which probably shouldn't happen unless they blunder into the rear-guard or some flankers that the "Loot/Prisoner" column has out).

Probably no need for Antru and Ac to go into Stealth mode during the "pursuit" phase, though, unless something unusual or unexpected happens. Which I'm sure would never be the case in a D&D game. :)

Re: OOC

Are those with no night vision using anything for light?

Once dark visibility for them is 10 feet or less.

In reply to Mike (msg # 418):

Considering that Ac will be riding down a road in the company of others, he will start out by attempting to operate in the dark, relying upon his better-sighted companions to keep him from getting into too much trouble. :)

If this approach turns out not to be feasible, he will light a lantern.
