OOC Chat 1

Between two rolls that I have seen there is high enough rolls to know and remember a great deal.

The Hextor Priests were blood red robes. The styles are militaristic ordained with insignias, ranking, etc. When dressed for combat or if need protection, the priest and all the followers were black armor over the robes, or over blood red garments. The church and all its followers are highly organized with ranking, processes, and procedures. Like a military it has a command structure, with checks and balances. The church is ran more like an army then a church.

Avri - you know one priests of the order by the name of Watchful Borther Jaban Shekhi. He is a low ranking priest but he was once a follower of Pelor and new him well. His Superior is Striking Hand Hurdam Dhikum a much higher ranking priest, and leader in the city. However, you have never talked with him.

Reobold - you have come in contact with the military arm of the church, and have had discussion Paingiver Pezol Norsk you remember him being of middle ranking.

13:18, Today: Durgo Jasperbeard rolled 21 using 1d20+1.  History check.
Why are my Natural 20s in my games all coming up on things like this, rather than in combat?

What does Durgo know?

Re: OOC Chat 1

Oh, I misunderstood that, I thought they were ahead of us and we'd have to get past them.  Well, the basics are the same -- we'll still have to get them far away if possible, or at least make sure they're distracted / split up before we try facing them.

Sorry I missed your roll

There is one man, his name is branded in your mind. Whiplar Gabram Barsk, the man leading the attack against your kin.

Re: OOC Chat 1

There has been a great deal of discussion, I don't want to rush anything if there is still planning to be made.

So far this what I see. I will make an IC post once I know I understand what is happening.

Cassidy has created a forged document details changes in orders. She didn't have any hand writing to go off in creating the document, so while she was more than able to disguise her usual hand writing, no one has any clue if it will look like the hand writing of Striking Hand Hurdam Dhikum. Nor do you know if this commander on the road receives letters from whom you wish it be from, nor do you know his mark. But, it none the less looks great.

There is a hat of disguise that could mimic a Hextor runner.

Cassidy has volunteered to deliver the message, with Durgo as guard.

I am assume all other will be setting up an ambush?

As a point of fact there are 10 able body men and women on the caravan that could prove some help, and hold their own in a fight, though no soldiers. If needed, all the men and women will arm themselves and defend, no one here wants to be a slave.

Re: OOC Chat 1

Sorry for being quiet, Fenris didn't have much to contribute to the planning. He would stay behind for the ambush, rally those who can fight to prepare for the ambush. DM, what sort of weapons could they scrounge up? I think they'd be best at a distance, so even a few peasants tossing spears and shooting shortbows could turn the tide.

There are enough Shortbows, Shortswords and Spears to arm them, and they all will be wearing leather armor also.

Re: OOC Chat 1

I have no doubt that Cass will have to do an awful lot of fast-talking for this to work for even a few minutes, but with any luck that will be all we'll need.

Re: OOC Chat 1

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 113):

Fenris would propose that they block the road with the wagons, scatter some luggage around to make it look like it was looted, move the noncombatants to a safe distance. If there is forest cover around the wagons, shortbow peasants hide there while those armed with shortswords and spears hide in the wagons with Fenris and any other character who wants to get close to the action.

Re: OOC Chat 1

Nothing that I'm aware of, but he would have asked Pelor's blessing upon her endeavor as she began her forgery. So, as our gracious DM is allowing Guidance to be invoked after rolls due to the nature of pbp, go ahead and roll another d4 to add to that 19 Cassidy.

And, in future, Avri will generally be happy to bestow Guidance on any party member looking to make an important check :)
