I ended up using RM FRP as a refined version of RMSS, mostly for the transcend armor skill.

I'm also creating my character once as a Cleric and once as a Paladin to see which result I like better.

I’ve been checking and frp kind of was a simplified version of rmss but it will still work.  Maybe paladin will work better since it mixes more arms and channeling but remember you won’t get spells until 5th level.

I suppose I should ask; Pick or roll?

The book makes it optional (GM call) but suggests that the Special Status Category should always be rolled (and the first category which is always picked).

If you want to pick I have no issue, if you want to roll go ahead. For me it depends how solid a vision of the character you have. A solid vision, specific option might help or destroy your concept. A fluid idea has more leeway.

I went with some chosen options (set options) and rolled some, which turned out pretty good. I've always been fan of random stuff to spark my imagination.

So I'm going with;

1 & 2. Set Option 5: +2 to a Stat or +1 to 3 Stats.

3. Special Ability 11-15: Acute Sense of Smell.

4. Special Ability 86-90: You are unusually Strong.

2a. If picking the same one twice is not allowed then I will roll on Special Items.

I feel like this is in keeping with his name, Beargrasp, and my story that his father was something akin to a Beorning (Bear-Man) while his mother was a Fair Elf.

This will make him an uncanny tracker and plays into the idea that Bugrem calls him in to help with cases (and Orc hunts).

It also has the (somewhat comical) side effect of making him maximum size for his race. You can ALL take cover behind me!

Whadda ya think?

Acceptable. Will be 4 different stats (1 +2, 3 +1s).

They actually work perfectly with my vision of him.

Beargrasp is now 7 feet 6 inches tall (2.24 Meters!) and, since he is a Half Elf, weighs 286 pounds (about 130 kilos).

If he grabs someone and fails a SD test he can injure them unintentionally.

The Shaggy Man of the Wilderness who is oddly attractive when seen up close.

Hope you get better soon. Vitamin d, k2, zinc, potassium, and magnesium.  Boost immune response and help fight the bugs. I’ve been taking them since this started and stayed healthy.

The last time I had a character this cool in RM he was hit by an arrow and killed stone dead in his first fight.

That said I believe he is finished and ready to play.

I got it about week ago too -- otherwise I don't know how I would have had the time to figure out again how to a make a Rolemaster character!
