Welcome everyone. Please see the game description (copied below) to get a better idea of what I’m thinking for tone and the world. Feel free to provide any feedback or thoughts.
The world of Isthim is a dark place. A place where evil and corruption live in every heart that allows it and the dark gods far outnumber the light. And help their acolytes much more.
There are mysterious and unexplored regions through the world, where many have traveled to and through but few survived. Ancient and decrepit beasts roam, looking for their next meal while warlords carve out corners of the world for their own kingdoms.
Even the greatest heroes of the world are only a bad day away from being great villains.
You few have chosen to wander the world; exposing its secrets, making your fortune, bringing hope to the hopeless, or for any other reason. Will the world learn of your legend or will you die a failure and forgotten.
Books allowed: Fantasy AGE core book and Companion
I'm want to lean into the horror aspect of the game and make it seem like a hard scrabble world where survival is tough for everyone. Saying that though, I want it to be more of an action game with horror elements than the other way around (Terminator 2 vs The Terminator, if that makes sense). Death is around every corner and adventuring shouldn't be taken lightly.
About me:
I'm new to the site, but not really to GMing or playing. Fantasy AGE is new to me though, so I'll be testing some things out to try to get a feel for it. I think rules are important, but shouldn't get in the way of fun, so I'm not really a "Rules Lawyer" unless I need to be. I'm very open to collaboration so if you have any ideas for what the world needs, what your characters backstory is, if something would be cool, if there's something in the scene, etc... let me know.
To keep the game really straightforward at first and break us in, the first mission, I’m imagining, that you will answer an ad for help to help recover a woman who has been kidnapped.
