-Backpack, 3.5 only says 1 cu. ft. and doesn't mention weight limit. I have never liked that so I use 2 cu. ft. for volume and up to 75 lbs weight in goods for a backpack for a medium size person.

-Rations that are just labeled as rations are already wrapped/packaged in something. Random food items you find will may not be wrapped/packaged depending on the circumstances.

-2 waterskins a day

-You have 24 hours after killing something to cook the meat and 1 week after cooking it to eat it if cooked well done.

-If you take a full 8 hours to smoke some meat with plenty of water to keep making smoke and take the risk of attracting attention, the meat will last indefinitely.
