As a side sorry for my silence. I saw the neurologist this past Tuesday and they hit me with the good news bad news routine.

So basically they confirmed that I do indeed have fluid behind my eyes, and along my frontal lobe. They asked me a bunch of questions about symptoms I'm having which currently are none, or very few. That said she explained several things that could have been going on, and explained why she's ruled them out based on my symptoms. Which put us to the point that now we're going to do a spinal tap to test the brain fluid. If you thought I said the bad part earlier, here's the other bad part. I been on Topamax for well over a decade or more to control my migraines that I used to get 4 to 5 times a week. So they want me to stop taking it two weeks prior to my spinal tap so that they can get an accurate read on what's going on. Means at some point here in the future, I'm going to be in a lot of head pain for a couple weeks.

Anyway, I am back and good for now! So will be posting tomorrow.

Just try to not push yourself too much in real OOC life, okay? I'm glad you're back with us too, but just make sure you practice self-care too.

It's really crazy because this entire path started because I went in for a routine eye exam. I had no other symptoms or anything, other then just wanting to get my eyes checked again since it's been a couple years.

That said though, it really shows the importance of doing your routine exams and check-ups. Had I of not went this may of not been found, and who knows what may of happened.

Well, on the bright side, if my own hunch is correct this may be the way to get rid of those migraines you mentioned, so here's to hoping :)

And besides, if your posts over the next couple of weeks stop making sense, we can just blame the fungal infection. It's all IC, really!

I have recently talked to Malcom, and he also is experiencing medical issues. If that is the case for any player, just let me know. I can have the 'sponsors' pull your character out of the labyrinth to sell weird alien products via informercials.

So...having a MUCH worse time than the other players.

I agree that Tsuki's migraines may possibly be related to the fluid thing.

And I hope Malcom's player is okay!

As part of the discussion though Tsuki does have a +9 Diplomacy. She also has a +9 Intimidate. She she can either scare the pants off of you, or sweet talk them off.

Aha! Looking for mycoparasites! (Fungal parasites of other fungi.) They are a thing.

Indeed.  As wikipedia says...

Ophiocordyceps unilateralis suffers from an unidentified fungal hyperparasite, reported in the lay press as the "antizombie-fungus fungus", that results in only 6–7% of sporangia being viable, limiting the damage O. unilateralis inflicts on ant colonies. The hyperparasite moves in to attack O. unilateralis as the fungal stalk emerges from the ant's body, which can stop the stalk from releasing its spores.

The graveyards of dead ants are numerous and spread throughout the surrounding area of the colony. Though O. unilateralis is very virulent, only about 6.5% of all fruiting bodies are viable spore producers. This is caused by the weakening of the fungus by the hyperparasite, which may limit the viability of infectious spores. Ants also groom each other to combat microscopic organisms that could potentially harm the colony. Additional fungi grant beneficial assistance to the colony, as well.

I work on a different mycoparasite called Escovopsis, that attacks the fungus garden of leafcutting ants. It's very cool.

Do you actually speak with a Scots accent? From March I'm going to be back in London for a year and I am very much looking forward to hearing some accents. And going to Scotland at some stage too, miss it.

Nah.  I've been to Scotland three times in my life.  I CAN do both Embra accents (Leith and Morningside) but until 4 years ago, I lived in London (and I'd been there 36 years).
