Re: OOC

Well in that case. You should make the oracle and if you really like Foxfire then I can make you energy mutagens. They will grant you an additional one energy damage per hit for my level 1 mutagens of course I will slowly get stronger and be able to make you better ones. But if you're able to launch two or three of them a turn that should give you at least a little bit of a boost. :)

I also can get magic weapon which maybe the dungeon master will allow to affect your Foxfire. But like I said even if not I can give you mutagens like energy or quicksilver.

Produce fire...just a thought, but it scales over time too. But like you said hand wraps and other things can help buff your foxfire. I just wanted you to know that you have more options than maybe you were considering that would allow you to still play the character you really want to play.

Oh I know! That's why she's evolved the way she has! I really appreciate this discussion A LOT trust me. :)

So I went Oracle, went with the Tempest Mystery because it has a lot of appeal to me for a strong Kitsune as it hits a lot of elements. And I kept the Foxfire as it added in even another element as it is good to have some depth just in case of resistances.

I'm really digging her now. :)

Now to find a good multiclass. :)

Re: OOC

My pleasure!

And hmmm...You could do a primal sorcerer multi-class. You'd have a ton of spells, both key off charisma, and increase your repertoire.

Or... You could take it in a whole different direction and instead of trying to add more magic you could try to do something that maybe embodies a different aspect of your character as a mundane human. Or perhaps you want to lean into Foxfire and you can take a multi-class like rogue or something that maybe will help you with your physical attacks or something much better than your normal class or a magical multi-class could.

I guess it really depends on what you see your character doing and the role that they're going to have in a fight.

Re: OOC

Rogue Dedication would be kinda sweet, though I'm not sure how well I'll be able to hide with a storm following me around. LOL!

I was looking at Runescarred as well as some of the later feats in that arch are really good as well. Especially one that later allows you to gain an armor property rune on your body even if you're wearing armor, that STILL functions.

Not sure how much Thassilon Lore will come up in this game though, but whatever. lol

After some talking with the GM went a completely off the wall but very fitting route with my multiclass dedication. Beastmaster. :)

With an oversized fox as her companion. It fits Inari, and considering Daikitsu is basically the PF version of Inari...well, her too. ;)

Yeah, I'm loving this. :) This is going to be fun!

Re: OOC

Ooooo...a beast master or even a ranger multiclass...something that gives you a full pet would be great for an inari priestess!

It would represent the affinity for communing with foxes and not just the divine magical aspects. Neat idea!

Re: OOC

So starting gold, do we get 2nd level starting gold as per this chart?

https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=587

Which is from the core book page 510.

In reply to Tsukiko Kuki (msg # 43):

You get no gold or equipment as of yet. If there is equipment that you wish, send me a pm as your wanderer character. All normal gear of limited expense will most likely be provided. The expensive stuff, not so much, but as I said your magic item will be tailored to your PC. If there is a magic item you really want, you can pm that to me as well.

Edit-You should list what stuff you had with you as a human, but it should be normal non adventuring gear that will largely be useless in the labyrinth.

I doubt she would have had much as a human given she was a shrine priestess.

Now a wishlist as her as a kitsune, that I can do. :)

Now we have our last member, Nathan! We need to finish off our human descriptions and portraits. Then I can at least get started running the game while you work on your wanderer stats.

PF2 is not very hard to learn. In fact I find it just as easy as 5e was to learn and I been playing Pathfinder since day 1, D&D3.x since day 1, etc etc.

You can download a free app called pathbuilder which is very good. If you need help, just give me a description of what you want and I can make it. There should be online sources for the rules as well.

I have played almost the iterations of D&D since just after the the original white box set.  However I haven't played 5E yet. Most of my local group are not impressed with the latest and greatest from Hasbro/Wizards of the coast. I am pulling information from the Archives of Nethys.

Re: OOC

In reply to Nathan (msg # 54):

Same here. I played the original D%D all the way until the current edition. Though that being said, I only played 4th twice and did not like it one bit. I do like 5th more than 4th though. IMHO 5th is what 4th could have and should have been if they were going for that simpler approach while still maintaining the feel of D&D.

As for Pathfinder 2nd, they went another route in making things simpler, as well as balanced. It took me a minute to get used to it but now that I am I'm liking it. My only complaint is the multiclassing system is not something I like. That being said though, I understand why they did it the way they did and that was for balance. The old way of doing it, when mixed with Prestige classes, would make multiclass characters way to OP. And this is coming from someone who LOVES playing multiclass Elf Fighter/Arcanist/Eldritch Knights. It can get pretty sick pretty fast if built right. A one character party.

Re: OOC

Hey all.

So I settled with being an abjurer school wizard with familiar thesis and of course alchemist dedication. Working on the familiar today but considering an aeon wyrd with manual dexterity and independent as I really not only just like the imagery of them being this small swirl of like gems and stuff but I was thinking I could put tiny little potions and things into their orbit and the potions and other things like if there's a toolkit or whatever we add on to it later would just be swirling around inside of it and then when it needs to help someone it just uses a tendril of force or something and applies it to somebody. So it's just this flying swirl of like gemstones and potions and other stuff LOL!

That's epic! I was thinking about grabbing the Kitsune Star Orb feat at third level with the Ancestrial Paragon feat to get a similar thing. It wouldn't be able to do all the potions like your's could, but it would have other benefits I could greatly use. :)

I could see your Aeon stone and my Star Orb arguing over which is better! LOL! Then my Dire Fox just putting it's paws over it's face like 'Not again. Can we stop running into these two.'

Re: OOC

Star orb is super cool! And there are actual kitsune feats that build off of it too like you can even get cloudkill and stuff on the thing.

And if you don't want the orb to actually ever be active it can just sit in your pocket and act like a big magical battery.

I am sacrificing some of those cool master abilities because I want a critter that can help disseminate some of the potions in elixirs I can make with my alchemist dedication to the party. Maybe I can have it drop caltrops and do other stuff too or do aid other actions I'm just trying to really think of ways I can support the party. Despite being an arcane magic user I actually have a lot of support options to bring to the group.

Re: OOC

Yupyup!

The main thing I want it for is to be able to use the innate abilities 1 extra time. The made the Star Ord as an innate ancestral item instead of a magic item you can buy like the Kitsune Star Gem from first edition. And then made them cooler by giving them life.

The issue with Cloud Kill from it is I have to sacrifice the Greater Kitsune Spell Expertise to get it. Not something I wanna do because that gives me Confusion, Death Ward, and Illusionary Scene. The first and last of which could be very useful. As could cloud kill mind you.
