Stavock turns to Ospec, "can you lock onto the device and beam it aboard or do we have to go across there and detached it from the main structure?”

In reply to Stavock (msg # 814):

"We may be able to beam it aboard. The older model transporter on this shuttle could do it, but its not guaranteed. We might bring it with half the injectors model too. Or damage it in some way beaming it over. It's your call."
"We could beam over and get it. Provided your beaming signature does not trip a theft alarm. We could go stealthy and space walk there and back." Ospec scratches behind his ears as he speaks.

“Then we will go there physically, using subterfuge and disconnect the warp core from the ship. If we can simulate a breach, then we can eject the core, and pull it behind us to the Last Chance, and there store it in our cargo bay." States Stavock.

In reply to Stavock (msg # 816):

Takk takk awaits at the airlock of the shuttle, Vosh and Neras don their EVA suits. " Keep focused on the center of the Kal'tholis." says Ospec. "The part with the least amount of rotation. That should help you to not get dizzy. The ends of the ship are the worst to look at. Once inside look for the strongest power source that should be the drive you are looking for. I will stay in the shadow of the Vulcan ship. With luck the shuttle will look like a piece of random debris."

Neras and Vosh are suited up and give you the thumbs up while maintaining radio silence. Ospec continues, "There are lots of Pakleds buzzing around with luck this will be a quick in and out!"

Now donned in his vacc suit, Stavock acknowledges Ospec's words and gives the signal to Vosh and Neras to follow him and Takk Takk out of the airlock.

He follows the Ferangi's instruction gliding towards the centre of the ship, looking for a portal and a way in.

The airlock mechanism is old and pitted with micro meteorite strikes. The lock is mostly fused but you have a mechanised torque to open it. You are all soon in the outer airlock.
"The strongest energy signature is towards the nacell ring." says Vosh indicating the center of the ship.

“Acknowledged,” states Stavock looking at his tri-corder. He observes the structure of the interior, and what he had seen of the hull from the outside, pondering any flaws or weakness to the structure.

He them commences to lead the group on the safest path to the warp core.

In a few short minutes, you reach an obstacle. The lifts aboard this old ship are not working normally and the most direct route is not functioning at all. Either from no power or a bad rail track. You could either take the route through the crew quarters section to reach the main drive or you can try to power up the lift with some external power source.

After running a few scans; Takk Takk responds. [ The ship has almost no power to any of its systems. Life support is offline and most essential systems are down. Making finding the core as easy as it was. The other systems are,"cool", and not causing interferance. I would assume you could siphon off some power from either your tools or suits. That should bring the power on to at least get you to the drive deck and back.]

The Vulcan moves to the panel and connects his phaser, so its drains its power.

“We shall use the lift,” he says.

In reply to Stavock (msg # 824):

Vosh and Neras wait for the charging to complete. After a few short moments, the lift controls seem to say there is enough power to operate it. The script used on the control panels of these old Vulcan ships is of a dialect from the pre-Federation times of the Vulcan people. This dialect while still spoken on Vulcan today is rarely used off the planet anymore. The lift takes you all to the other deck where the drive should be. Neras takes an Orion make scanner and begins scanning, "I want to make sure there are no others onboard. We are trespassing after all." Satisfied she re-slings her scanner giving the confirmation that the ship is without any other people save you all.

Soon later you are all standing by the warp core on the engineering deck of the old Vulcan ship. Here the ship is almost pristine even after its many long years in space. You see the central warp core with the various plasma feeding tubes and the coolant and other safety connections still attached. The real point of interest however is the small Nimbar warp drive device set in the secondary port to the main drive. The Nimbar drive is a relic from a gone but more recent alien species that used a different mode to travel between stellar distances. Their technology is based more closely to the pre ancient Bajorian's modes of travel. That being the creation of powerful yet small singularities to pull ships over great distances. The federation and various others have for years experimented with mass producing this technology all to less than satisfactory results.

The singularities produced have thus far been unstable and the only empire to have seemingly succeeded at the technology in a certain way have been the Romulans. The Nimbar core would be of value to the Bajorians, the Romulans, and a number of scientists in almost any current empire.

Stavock had experience with Vulcan ships, no matter how old, and set to work disconnecting the Nimbar drive. With the aid of the others with some operations, the Vulcan heard the confirmation of success from the device, and prepared to jettison it into space so Ospec could attach a towline, so they could return to the Last Chance.

The drive has successfully been transferred to the shuttle and it is just a matter of you all getting back and out of here. Takk-Takk sends a coded message saying that a single Pakled ship is scanning the general area and is on an intercept course with the old Vulcan ship. Takk Takk asks if he/she/it should beam you all over or allow you to find your way back the long way back.

Ospec beams you all over and in doing so the Pakled ship begins speeding towards your direction scanning as it goes.
"They have thieves constantly here," says Neras. " It is a Pakled patrol on its way to see who is stealing!" She straps herself in with a harness to one of the acceleration benches on the shuttle. Takk-Takk joins Ospec at the flight controls and soon you are jetting away towards the last chance.

In doing so the Pakled ship begins to pursue. "They are gaining on us," says Ospec from the Ops station on the shuttle. "We will reach the Last Chance first, but they will be hot on our heels before we disembark." You see Takk Takk regarding the weapons systems on the shuttle. Meanwhile A'dderro you imagine has a big grin on his face and is ready to blast some Pakleds

Takk Takk skillfully zips between debris, ships,  and other objects floating in the junkyard. The Pakleds amazingly manage to keep up. You look at a tactical screen and see that they will be in firing range shortly. "The Pakled ship is hailing us", says Ospec from his station. Meanwhile, the gap between the ships is rapidly closing.

"We should get ready to fight", says Vosh. "The Pakleds are brutish and none too bright. They are blunt instruments. They will treat us less than considerate", she adds.

"Yes. They are rather dense", agrees Neras. "Which means we should use guile and exploit their weaknesses. Not every win must come from violence we are not Klingons!"

“Attempt to scramble their comms Mister Ospec,” states Stavock as he divert full power to the rear shields.

“Keep close to the junk-ships, they may fear to damage their property, if we are exact, we might be able to pass a location their ship has to fly around, while we can go through it, and then we make straight for our ships!”

Stavock scans to see what kind of ship is following, “if we have to lead them to the Last Chance, then manoeuvre so Mister A'dderro can get a good shot at them, I would what a disabling shoot, but our gunner does not believe in such tactics, and we best keep radio silence; so they cannot learn of who we are, and rely it back to their people.”

Takk Takk skillfully pilots the shuttle through debris and derelict craft. The Pakleds however are like a tracker beast. Hot in pursuit of the escaping shuttle. Takk Takk tries to push between several derelict craft. In hopes that the Pakleds can not follow but as far no passage is so far narrow enough for this.
The pakleds continue to close the distance and they will be in firing range soon enough. The Last Chance is within range if you make all haste there. Hutches ship is a bit closer but docking with it will tip your hand that you have an allied ship in the background. The option to stand and fight while in the shuttle is risky and you wonder if The Pakleds have alerted any Starfleet ships yet.

In reply to Takk Takk (msg # 835):

Thinking fast, you notice a huge ship's hull nearby. You command the shuttle there, hoping to lose the Pakleds in the debris. The nimble little shuttle makes it to the huge Dyson sphere fragment and you and your crew are soon zipping through the gutters, superstructure and pitted skin of the sphere, the Pakleds though they follow, they are not able to squeeze through some of the tighter areas that the shuttle flies around with ease.

Takk Takk takes the shuttle in a stationary orbit around a comm tower on the Dyson spheres surface. There he powers down as you need to plan your next move.

Stavock considers there predicament dispassionately. “We need to get back to the Last Chance without being seen. If they see the other two ships, they can learn who they belong to, and we be hunted by bounty hunters for our crimes.”

He scans the monitors, “any suggestions?” he asks the crew of the shuttlecraft.

Takk Takk offers a fast attack at the Pakleds engines then a speedy escape to The Last Chance. Ospec offers this. "I could try and bribe the Pakleds. A Ferengi con of course but if might work." Vosh taps her fingers on the armrest. "I say we detonate a photon warhead in this large wreck. Then make a break for the ship. Or we could navigate this wreck. There might be a way out just big enough for us to slip through undetected." Neras pipes in,"Let me talk to the Pakleds. This shuttle is unaligned with any government. I could try a ruse on the Pakleds to get them to let us go."
