In reply to new character (msg # 4):

You can post it here and I will add the details on the main page. This site is pretty old so I have to hands on most of the stuff.

Ok you are good. You just need to select one starting weapon
A bit of house rules,
weapons have different dmg values
A small Federation phaser does less dmg then a large klingon disruptor rifle.
You may select armor:
Personal armor is
Light=(basic armor value is 1 some alien light armor is more protection)
Medium= 2
Heavy = 3
Extra Heavy = 4

You may take 2 weapons instead of 1 weapon but at a penelty of the amount of starting credits.
Starting credits is 50c  if 2 weapons are taken the starting cash is 25c

You will start with your own ship/crew
You are part of a freelancer crew in independant space bordering the Federation,Klingon Empire, and the Romulan Star Empire. Currently you are closer to the Romulan border on your way there.

As for weapons you may choose any from canon or novels, film, ect

Dmg is as follows for energy based small arms

Light wps = 1 (aka type 1 Federation phaser)

Medium wps = 2 (aka standard phaser pistol)

Heavy wps = 3 (aka hvy Klingon pistol)

these are the standard side arms. There are heavier weapons and species with higher levels of tech that have more dmg weapons but these values as a baseline for the most "generic" in the setting

Also vehicle weapons/ very large infantry weapons/ ect do more dmg of course.

You will currently be shipmates with a Ferrengi, a Breen, and a unnamed alien with four arms, (Think GORO from mortal kombat).

When you are ready to go, let me know and we can begin.

I will also check out the Conan game and post there.

In reply to Navaar (msg # 5):

Okay:

So, do not think he would walk about like a Tiger tanks, so will take the Medium Ar (2).

Take the Medium wps = 2 (aka standard phaser pistol).

Not sure what I can buy with the 50 credits at beginning of game.

But if I can get a tricorder? That be good.

Eh, what era are we in, is it after space station 9/Second generation?

Not want to presume, due to the Spock not saving Romulus as it is destroyed, but we obviously in their territory (nearly) and either it never happens or ??? (just knowing Spock is alive is good enough and you can keep secrets as a GM).

It probably right in front of me, but cannot see it, so placed my picture on Flickr:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/...n/dateposted-public/

If you could place that for me here, that be yeeha.

Eh, got a few ST maps, I got a good one of Shakaar's Alpha/Beta map 3.3 and have two more which tell different places? So, what default map do you use and can you give me a link to it, or perhaps place in your Flickr so I can work with it.

I ready to start, are we in game forum or OOC at present? :)

Right, 3 other comrades, a freelancer crew; sound very dubious. :)

Ciao for now...

In reply to Stavock (msg # 6):

Episode 1: Eat,Live,& Make Merry

You find yourself on the bridge of the old small Tellerite freighter you and you party have been using since you all teamed up. A strange hodge podge of various technologies and species devices the freighter is a miracle of engineering. You and your group have just finished a raid on some old ancient Romulan ruins on the fringe of Romulan space. The raid collected you 3 artifacts. Ancient Romulan tube like stone works with Ancient Romulan script on the outer surfaces. Two have a blue glaze painted on them, the other an orange hue.
Your ship is making best speed possible to Rigel X to meet your contact a Tellerite fence. A coded message was sent to you a few hours ago in response to one the party sent when you left the ruins. Seated at one of the work stations on the bridge you look over to the two members of your party on the bridge with you. First there is Takk Takk a Breen Mercenary, he is busy at the navigation station piloting the ship. Keeping an eye out for any raiders or pirates. This area of space, Sitting square in the middle of the Romulan Star Empire, the Klingon Empire and the Federation, it is a rough and tumble place but it is a major hub of Diplomacy,Commerce, as well as Crime and Vice. Home to such systems as the Rigel,Orion, Nausica, and Risa.
Looking over to one of the communications stations you see Ospec The Ferrengi rogue, snoring soundly. Taking a nap after your recent adventure the Ferrengi is likely dreaming of the wealth he will receive from your plunder.

In reply to Takk Takk (msg # 7):

Stavock of Vulcan raises an eyebrow as he scans the bridge of the freighter. The Ferengi never cease to amaze him in his desire for wealth. He as a Vulcan saw it a means to an end and the interest that it derived granted him a reason for exploring these ancient hives of knowledge. The Breen Takk Takk puzzled him more; he could never tell if the entity under the mask was a living creature or a machine, or both. He queried as much as logic could substance then disregarded it. It was futile to consider such things without proper evidence and his Vulcan manner would not allow himself to pry.

He studied the star chart, it was great distance from the Neutral Zone to Rigel X, but with warp power they should arrive shortly if thing went well, though only a freighter and no Galaxy craft starship, they could still make good time and arrived to at their meeting with the Tellarite.

Takk Takk speaks, (It sounds like s series of deep vocals, more like humming then speech and the sound of a faulty computer core combined), " We are entering the Rigel system. ETA 2 hours." Looking over some readouts he/she/it notes, "Long range sensors are detecting a Tholian attack craft drifting, and,......I have been monitoring a sensor ghost at extreme range since we started our approach at 15 parsecs. Could be nothing,... but unknown,..."

"There is nothing unknown Takk Takk, only what needs to be comprehended," stated Stavock in a calm voice, "scan region, focus on any space anomalies, gas, distortions and possibly other forms of venting, I not wish to be surprised by any Klingon or Romulan cloaked craft in the vicinity as we approach."

"Ospec, if you could be so bold as to arise and join us at your convenience, it would be appreciated," Stavock knew the Ferangi's ears were sensitive enough to hear his change in monotone as he directed the message at the the sleeping Communication Officer.

OOC: Stavock would contact our Goro, warning of inevitable danger by intercoms.

Ospec stretches lazily in his seat yawning and saying,"What? Are we there yet?" He turns to hid work station and says,.....sensor ghost? Tholian derelict? I say we run. My ears say this is a trap and the only thing I trust more then my ears is,.....well nothing. We do not need this kind of trouble so close to our payday."
As the Ferrengi putteres around the control board and complains. The response you get back from the intercomm are sounds. Sounding like a Klingon targ and Klingon monster dog eating.
Takk looks up from the navigation board and points to the enhanced images of void frozen Tholians floating in the void of space.
" Very charming,Takk," says Ospec rolling his eyes.

“That is an option Ospec,” considers Stavock, “I neither wish trouble or have any want to be trapped in the vastness of space with any hostile group at this present moment in time. But it might also be to our benefit to salvage any Tholian technology that we can get which benefits our current position."

The Vulcan stare intently at the intercom, the four arms crewman was his usual self. But he had been warned. It was the best he could do.

In reply to Stavock (msg # 14):

You actually find there is a ping on one of the sensors. Very likely a cloacked vessel. This close to the neautral zone that is not surprising. But are they Romulans? Romulans are naturally distrustful and having them seeking you out, or any ship entering their space would make sense. Mostly only ships of interest get this treatment. The silent ghost like survellance probes and monitoring stations normally have that duty.
To be singled out is a bit more odd. That is if it is even the Romulans. This could be Klingons, pirates, or worse. Takk your Breen navigator is a blur of motion at the panel, aligning the ship in a way to put some distance between you and the sensor ghost. Offering a less apparent profile, without tipping to the fact that you know. The sensors on your board confirm --97%-- likely this is an artificial manned craft.

In reply to Navaar (msg # 15):

“Wise move Takk, let get to Rigel X as quickly as possible,” Stavock left eyebrow rises for a moment. “The Tholian craft is unmanned unless they have found away to hide their crystalline forms and we have no need to involve ourselves in their affairs at present. So, let us go. Still I will mark their location on the star map and later we can return to investigate when the space is clear of other interested parties.”

OOC: Do we have any outer guns or are we a commercial craft and technically not allowed them by federation law or is that nonsense? Also I not truly know how far we from Neutral Space and Rigel, just trying to type as if I know what I talking about. :)

What is our Goro's name, if we have outergun, I would prefer if he was at least preparing to use it. So Stavock will ask politely on the intercom for him to move in that general direction...

Edit:

Stavock activates the intercom once more and ask politely of Adderro; the four armed giant, “could you please move in the general direction of gunnery section as we may be experience an emergency in the next few minutes.”

OOC: I only presuming Adderro is the muscle and knows about guns and stuff (ie how to kill things), but its a fun space farce if he does not? :)

Adderro lumbers onto the bridge of the ship and glances around. You notice he has the drumsticks,( all 6 of them) of a Gobblette food bird. Similar to an earth chicken/turkey. A chunk of deep fried bird disappears into his mouth as he asks,"Who needs hurtn?"
Before any can answer Takk beeps/exclaims,
"Sensor ghost is moving in on an intercept course. Still under cloak!"

“Battle stations,” He says turning to the four-armed giant, "prepare to send a volley at the heat signature of that craft if they target us and if they prepare to shoot Adderro.” The Vulcan then turns to the Breen. “At the least inclination Takk that you notice that they plan to shoot, I want you to tell Adderro to intervene first and cause them to rethink their actions.”

“If we have no choice, I want us to send a photon torpedo at there last known location, perhaps locked on to their admission and subdue their craft.”

Takk sends a series of chirps and whistles your way,(and the sound of a comp core crashing). You feel the ship pitch and roll as Takk adjusts the ships flight even further. The familar almost sub audible sound of the sheilds being raised reaches your ears. Adderro a growling and states,"Weapons targeting systems can't get a lock, going to your plan B!" You see him grip the firing throttle in a death grip and his finger over the firing input board array.
"I'm getting their reply," says Ospec shaking his head. "They are dirty Orion reavers and pirates."
No sooner does he say this then the coarse voice of a jaded Orion thug come over the speakers.
"This is Villik of the Orion ship <Red>Fire Dancer, surrender and prepare to be boarded. Surrender your cargo and any nubile females aboard and you will not be harmed. Refuse and suck vaccum till dead,...."</Red>
Takk at the Nav station chirps," Orion interceptor decloaking. Two more on an intercept course. ETA 5 standard galatic minutes."
Ospec always the pragmatist says," If we hurry we could make Rigel X. The defense force there would help us,...maybe,..
