In reply to Stavock (msg # 41):

Gurr snorts and smiles. "The Blood Razors are currently in control of Rigel X. At least the orbital space; while their rivals the Claw Moons are trying to regain control. Why just not a day ago a group of Blood Razors informed me of the change in control and that the cost of operating who cost an additional 3% off the top of my profits. Such is the way among the Orions, power changes hands quickly under less then strong leadership."
Gurr nods at the read out.
"Is this the only artifact you were able to retreive?"
Outside the sound of wind blowing picks up.

In reply to Yessell Varr Gurr (msg # 42):

Stavock ponders the constant conflict of the planet, gleaning no more information on the present threat than the one he could surmise.

“There are three Gurr,” states the Vulcan plainly, as usual for one of his species with no emotional content, “Romulan stonetubes; their ancient script obvious on the outer surfaces. Two you can see have a blue glaze colour, while the other has an orange hue."

Stavock wonders how Ospec fairs, his sensitive ears and the blowing winds may disorient him.

In reply to Stavock (msg # 43):

Gurr smiles a broad grin, motioning for the tubes. He produces a blinking comp core from his desk and slides it into the port of the comp on the desk. Taking a tube he places it on a clear square of "glass". The glass in in fact a custom made sensor.
A few passes of the sensors needle thin and disfuse fan like lasers and Gurr is smiling even wider. "The orange tube seems to be technical data and ship schematics. One at least at the moment what looks like ancient Romulan ships. Romulans used their ships in ancient times for extra solar exploration and even exploration of deep space,......using primative draves and solar sails. No one hardly uses those now but to a collector or for an institute. This would be a find!"
Taking the other tubes he scans those. After a few moments you notice he is no longer grinning rather he seems nervous and his face is sweating.

“Is there a problem Gurr?” asks Stavock, “you seem to be showing signs of distress.”

The Vulcan wondered what the Tellirite would consider an unviable product, let alone one that would send him into a state of panic.

Strange as it was Stavock was uncertain of how to communicate to the Tellarite or question him to explain his fears.

He looked surprisingly at his companion as if for some help to assist, but A'dderro did not seem like the entity to assist unless we was putting an enemy through a wall.

Gurr is not paying much mind to you. His breathing is still ragged. For a moment you wonder if he is having a medical event. Until his porcine eyes dart your way. When he speaks you notice he is breathing in gulps. He looks at you and asks. "Are you sure you were not followed here? No bizarre sensor traces?" He stops for a moment,"I had no idea that the artifacts you would find would be of this kind,...."

“And what kind is that Gurr?” ask Stavock in a concerned motion of his penetrating eyes. He presumed Gurr would state that the remaining two artefacts were illegal, as was was the other, but obviously more dangerous.

He paused only for a moment but to relieve Gurr's anxiety, he stated, “if we were followed, their ships must have technology beyond our capability to detect!” Still in consideration, this was not the most reassuring statement, but then he was Vulcan and what should any expect, but the logical truth.

Gurr looks at you beads of sweat on his face. "These you found on Yappidis 3. In ancient times that world suffered in a civil war among the Romulan factions. Religeous zeltos. What we have here are the instructions to a Romulan bio weapon. Two in fact", he says gesturing to tubes. "The Romulans there it would seem, were in the business of weapons."
He stops wipes his face and brow with a cloth. "The Romulan Tal Shiar or worse yet their Zhat Vash would kill for these."

"After payment there are three other new jobs you may have interest in." He begins transferring universal credits to you.

“I was certain of your good reputation Gurr,” speaks Stavock with the usual expressionless face, “ but one must be sure!”

Stavock reaches for his intercom, “you can enter Mister Ospec, make sure your not followed!”

The Vulcan turns to his companion, “go outside and guard Mister Ospec as he approaches, Mister A'dderro, we want him safe!” There was a hint of concern in the Vulcan's eyes that disappeared in a moment of thought; as he considered the fanatical Zhat Vash or for that matter the Tal Sharr. They would have no reason to let them live if they knew they had the merchandise. It would benefit them naught to follow them to their buyer, they would just want the relics.

No Romulan would have waited till they had been destroyed by the space pirates if they were cloaked and following and allow for the destruction of their required technology.

Still if it was a lone spy, they would not have been able to intervene, but they could kill one lone Ferengi.

Within moments Ospec and A'dderro reenter. You notice that the Ferengi is deep into reading his P.A.D, he looks up and states. "I trust all went well? At least that what it seems by the amount deposited". A'dderro remains impassive and silent one set of arms around his extended chest and the other on his hips.
Looking at your own pad you see that five thousand universal credits have been deposited to your account. Via encrypted transaction.

Gurr nods,"and an extra two thousand because of the nature of the two tubes". Ospec shots you a glance at this but says nothing. Gurr continues. "I have 3 other jobs you might take. One is to go to Darrma 4. Again in Romulan space and collect again any artifacts there. The world again is an ancient Romulan holding that was in the same fashion turned to glass in one of their ancient wars."

"The other is from a very rich Tellerite merchant named Feldupp has a runaway slave. An orion named, Neras. He paid a fortune for her and wants her back".

"The other requires you to meet with a Romulan senator named,Lidor Sahk. He has a matter he needs independents such as yourselves to assist with. This would require you meeting him at his villa on Tashatran."

The Vulcan turned to the Ferengi, “well enough, but in our profession it is wise to be cautious!”

The statement did not explain the problem, but Stavock knew the Ferengi was astute enough to take his meaning.

“Here is your merchandise Gurr,” concludes the Vulcan. At the statement from Gurr of the bonus and Ospec quick stare, the Vulcan lowers his head and wait patiently. They would discuss this later if necessary.

“Is there a time limit on accepting any of these assignments?” states Stavock, “I wish to discuss the options with my full crew and our ship might still require some maintenance after or encounter with the  Blood Razor.”

The Vulcan nods to his crew and they move to the door, “lets get back quick, I want to see how fast the ship is being fixed and perhaps at least have an opportunity to do two of the jobs. As Gurr stated the salvage on Darrma 4 is going no where!”

The Vulcan hails a cab/transport and tells him to take them to the spaceport.

Back on the ship the crew is on the bridge weighing their options. Ospec sitting again at the comms station rotates his seat towards the rest of the crew.
"I say we go after the slave. Dealing with ancient Romulan weapons stations could be dangerous. One can't enjoy all his profit if one is dead from some moldy old Romulan terror weapon."
At the Nav station the Takk Takk says something sounding like an angry mouse being pulled through a chain link fence. Ospec shakes his head. "Deal with a romulan senator? Possible,... profit is there, provided he is the friendly sort. Romulans by nature are creatures of subterfuge AND deep pockets."

Adderro laughs. "Which is why I say we go to the dead world. There are likely many riches and secrets there. The secrets equals money. I need that to send to my parents."

“I see we are an impasse and only my vote will decide what we intend to do,” states Stavock, “I not so sure chasing an Orion slave female across world is our forte and my interest in knowledge both ancient and present would direct me to Darrma 4 to explore its ruins."

"Still the ship needs fix and I would prefer a ship which functions with 100%  efficiency opposed to blundering into a hostile environment with less than full efficiency!”

“How long to complete analyse of ship functions Mister Takk Takk?”
ask the Vulcan.

The Vulcan also states, “if we need to wait, perhaps we can apprehend his slave while we are here on Rigel X. The extra credits would not be to our disadvantage.”

Takk Takk emits a series of squeals, grunts, high and low frequency sounds. In sort he states that the ship only needs minor repairs. The aft weapons need to be replaced and the ECC of the ship was fried. Other then that nothing else.
He estimates that with a full shop with enough man power and galactic stanard equipment, the repairs should only take 2 to 3 days. Longer if the bay is over booked or less then a full repair repair bay.

"I know someone that might help to locate this slave," state the Vulcan, "Mister Takk Takk, I can trust you to supervise the fixing of the ship, while Mister A'dderro, Ospec and I shall proceed to my contact and attempt to locate this slave!”

Not waiting for a word, he moves to leave the ship and summon a transporter to visit a human female he knows called Vosh. She owns a multi species restaurant in one of the nicer sections of town.

“My contact,” he states to the curious Ospec, “is an information broker/treasure hunter and part time hacker. Chances are she knows something. And Mister Osprec, be on your best behaviour; for she is a good source of knowledge on this planet and would not want to loose her because you have offended her principles; because you think females donning garments is offensive!”

The Vulcan gives the Ferengi a long and stern stare...

Ospec shrugs and remains silent. On the way you get to notice more of the city. The first part of the trip you see the seedier side of Rigel X. All forms of vice peddlers and goods hawking their wares. Once the transport reaches the main througfare the scenery changes . Gone are the vice dens, grey and black markets. Instead stately shops and homes are seen. You notice that the transport is moving closer to the center of the city and it is not long before it stops you not far from the establishment you seek.
I bold blue neon lettering the sign reads, Bellas, Outside you can see a dozen species all waiting their turn to be let in. At the door a large Beta Annari letting beings in or holding them back. Ospec looks at you and saays," A Beta Annari doorman? Is your friend a merc?"

"Will your Tellerite friend be joining as well? Or Prephaps the large brute of yours?" He crosses his arms across his chest. The sleeves of his suit straining over his bulgding muscles. He waits to see how you will reply.

The only sound is the various beings voices, the wind, and the muted music leaking from the inside.
