Murac speaks,"Stavock it has been long that you have not been to Vulcan. I heard you left after your parents left the Vulcan clan to study in their own seclusion." He pauses and continues, "I have heard rumors of your adventures and galavanting, though I pay little heed to such things. Though some on the Vulcan Security Council differ in opinion."

He regards those with you," You seem to have collected a varied number of companions since our last visit. I deduce that there must be some urgent matter that you must attend to to have traveled all the way her to Vulcan."

Stavock bows at Murac's logic, “indeed!”

He pauses only moment, “I thought it prudent to bring the High Command what I have learned, so Vulcan can continue in safety with the knowledge to defend itself. It is logical that I can tell you, and therefore you could tell the High Command in my stead!”

"Indeed, it is logical that you bring something you believe is of import to have traveled so far,...." He gestures for you and the others to follow. Murac and the detachment head to a central building in a cluster of trapazoid-like structures. The doors are made of Federation transpar-steel and the mortar and stone itself are that of Vulcan design, rust red in the sulfur and iron rich stone found on Vulcan. While this is a High Command center and a majority of the chambers are spartan and utility; a Vulcan mindset in their design, you pass an elaborate fountain or two. Floral from all over Vulcan decorate these and you see Vulcans meditating here. You even see members of the revered T'non Ca brotherhood here. The members of the T'nn Ca while xenophobic and cloistered are regarded among most of Vulcan as some of the most developed minds of the entire race.

Murac stops at one of these fountains and dismissing the Vulcan commandos with a silent gesture of his hand, he says,"I request that I speak to Stavock alone." This she says to your companions. "I mean no disrespect or disregard in this. But matters may arise in the discussion that are of a sensitive nature in regards to Vulcan. It would be best if no one or one's planet were not compromised in any way by this."

In reply to Stavock (msg # 746):

Your companions remain at the fountain looking a little if not lost among the Vulcan adepts. Murac asks you to join him in his study and after entering a spartan office Murac seats himself in a modest-looking chair behind a Vulcan desk. He settles in and steepling his fingers he regards you as you explain and describe the recent events. He only asks a few questions during this and allows you to mostly talk uninterrupted. (You may roll a 2D6 plus mods to make your case.)

Stavock explains of Gal'taur, the Zante High Priest, and of his warning. Stavock has no reason to doubt the priest's warning, and by logic alone he had decided to warn the Vulcan people of the threat, and they in turn could warn the Federation.

At the end of it all Murac is silent for a few moments then," The contacts the Federation has had with the Dominion thus far are of the highest classification. As far as what you have told me is only known among key people in the Federation as to not create a panic among the populace." He pulls up a brief list on his P.A.D. and hands it to you. Scanning the profiles of the people listed you see Pressman on the list as he holds the rank of Admiral in Starfleet.
Murac continues, "The precognition of the Zanites is little understood and there are those among my people that see it as little more than lucky guesses. And then there are those that see the various if also little understood abilities among certain members of our own people as somehow linked to a great quantum web of space/time. This puts me in a quandary Stavock. While the Federation must be warned, our limited contact with the Dominion has been limited and always resulted in disaster. One is tempted to let Section 31 continue with their plans. Yet Section 31 is a rogue faction within Starfleet and must be reported."

"Pressman holds great political and personal power within Starfleet. His exposure in this will rock the inner halls of Starfleet while we are all trying to determine how to deal with an aggressive and technologically superior alien species can not come at a worse time. There is also that you and your companions are civilians at best, criminals at worst who have access to the knowledge of the Dominion.
According to procedure, I would need to place you and you companions under house arrest while this is sorted out. However, the complexity of the information and the critical juncture the Federation is currently facing deems that I do not do so."

Stavock sits in quiet contemplation as he listen...

"It was the word of the Zante that Pressman will cause the Dominion some aggravation, and his part to play in this matter should be allowed to continue. His help, no matter crude would somehow assist!" Stavock pauses in contemplation once more, "logic state this might be the right way to go, but the idea of a man like Pressman being the force behind salvation, seems immoral!"

He nods as Murac continues his explanation, "these proceeding might takes months or years, we have wish to detain you with concerns for us!" He replies.

Murac nods, "Saviors are rarely saved themselves," he states. "To your assessment of the length of the proceedings, you are correct if this were a standard course of events. These times the Federation finds itself in are hardly of the standard. The Dominion situation will hardly allow for this. They are moving quickly and many within the Federation Security Council and those of us in the Vulcan Security Council agree that the Dominion will not halt the speed and swiftness of their agenda to the Alpha and Beta quadrants."

"I will let only my most trusted allies in the Federation and here on Vulcan know of these things you have brought to me. The information will be dispensed with the tightest intelligence protocols." He punches a few buttons on the panel of his desk engaging the privacy and and security shroud for this room. After this, he continues, "What I am about to disclose is known only to a select few in the Federation. The Dominion has been destroying Bajorian colonies around the Bajoran and Cardassian border. Federation Intelligence has been funding and arming the Bajorian militia and the group known as the Maquis, although the Federation officially have classified the Maquis as a terrorist organization. This all in the hopes they can give the Dominion pause to halt their encroachment or at the very least buy time for the Federation to organize a defense."

Stavock nodded as he listen to Murac.

His main concerns averted, and the knowledge that the Federation was taking precautions was enough for him.

"I have done what I came to do. I brought a warning, which has come too late but I know now that you are aware of the dilemma and are actively opposing with the threat, and I am content!"

"Peace and long life", replies Murac and he takes his leave.

When you return to your companions, there Krungg stands looking uncomfortable. A Klingon warrior in such a serene environment would indeed be very uncomfortable. " What did your Vulcan contact say?" he asks shifting his feet ready to be on their way. He is of course wondering what their next move will be.

You arrive back on Risa. Here you can spend as much time as you wish. Provided the funds keep flowing to the many tourist traps on the surface of the planet. The blue skies beckon as do the clear waves. Here it would be easy for most people to forget their cares. That is for most people. Your thoughts wander and you wonder what type of work might be here. Or what the shadowy factions would be like.

Stavock patrolled the 'Last Chance,' he would inspect its interior and looks for any abnormalities. He also set to work in curing the clones from S31. He would have felt contempt for Pressman, but his Vulcan training suppressed such notions.

He took one, one at a time to a secure location and proceeded to mind meld with them...

The clone you bring in goes by the "name", George21. He looks like a human male with close cropped brown hair. Not at all if anything stands out about this man. He seems rather calm in outward appearance, but the fidgeting knee gives him away. He looks at you with keen eyes. He neither speaks nor resists but you sense he is as much studying you as you are him. You wonder what his mind will look like once you meld with it.

With true Vulcan resolve, Stavock sets to work.

Stavock explained his intent to George21, he did expect much from the clone, his eyes told him, he had been programmed well by S31 to do their bidding. It would be difficult to breakdown the barriers to his free will.

Perhaps it was luck, perhaps your own mind's power, or some other factor, but you are able to walk through the various barriers in the mind of the clone. There are many. Section 31 has set and reset many redundant compartmentalizations in the clone's mind. Some are very technical , that of a master engineer, others are those of a master assassin. Some are fragmented, little more than parts of alter personalities. None seem however to be a or rather the true persona of George21. He appears from in his mind to have undergone this brain jigsaw since his birth.

If there is a viable original personality you will find it. You are careful not to trigger any possible kill switches. You have heard stories that various intelligence agencies install mental kill switches in their assets. If that asset is compromised. The assets will suffer a fatal ischemic attack or cardiac arrest. Thereby protecting the parent agency and handlers.

You find what appears to be a root personality of the original George21. However in your mind's eye while it is alive and healthy. It is stunted and underdeveloped. Like the mind of a very young child. The functional George21 is a collage of artificial personas or parts of implanted ones of various peoples. Each with a specific task. You know that if you could get George21 and the others to a proper mental health or even the Mind Masters on your homeworld of Vulcan that likelihood is great all the clones could be made whole.

Stavock pondered returning to his Homeworld. He had considered to give the clones to his people to cure but he had been occupied with the warning, the thought had not been a priority, and had been forgotten.

“Back to Vulcan Mister Takk Takk, if you would please!” He spoke over the intercom.

He knew the Klingon would have no concerns, and Takk Takk would enjoyed the distraction, so, it harmed none if they left immediately.

It is not long till The Last Chance is in orbit above Vulcan. Seeing you back so soon the Vulcans send up attack frigates to see what is amiss. After an explanation, the ships escort you to one of their Monestaries along the equator of the planet. Here the heat is high even for a planet like Vulcan. There are large mountain ranges and many seismic and volcanic disturbances.

There nestled in the peaks of a few of the mountains are several ancient structures. Made of the same stone of the mountains themselves, these were carved centuries ago in the far Vulcan past. These are connected by high walkways spanning the gulfs between the mountains. The Vulcans here specialize in matters of the mind, logic, and ancient Vulcan mysticism.

After a few moments of pleasantries, The Last Chance is allowed to a landing pad jutting from one of the structures. There you are greeted by a cloister of monks and Vulcan Mind Masters. These Vulcans are so steeped in Vulcan logic, discipline, and ancient arts, that they appear to be the ultimate goal of modern Vulcans. The complete mastery of their minds and logic. These Vulcans are in their own estimation the elite in these things and some view others, even others of their own species as undisciplined, and unruly children at best, dangerous beings at worse.

The monks and the Mind Master stand impassively observing you as they wait for you to initiate a reply to them.

Stavock bows in deference, with a slight nod of his head, “I seek help in saving the minds of five prisoners we took in a minor conflict with a Federation group called Section 31. These crewmen are programmed clones, create by a Federation officer called Pressman, who has performed illegal acts upon them. These clones obeyed his orders with little regard for their own souls. I come asking if you would take these humans into your care, and assist them finding their true selves and attaining some form of proper life.”

One of the Mind Masters steps forward. You assume that this is their highest member present. It is hard to tell as those there are dressed almost the same. This elder Vulcan female stands forward and after addressing you says," Stavock we have anticipated your coming. We have foreseen this. What you ask is under normal circumstances a violation of our code and order. As these are not Vulcans nor are they even completely human in the narrow of sense.. To do so would bring the ire of those engaged with Section 31. We know little of them, but their reputation has not escaped our meditations. In normal times we would refuse and bar you from ever returning here."

"Yet these are not normal times and while we do our best to remove ourselves from the larger galaxy unless there is cause. It would seem there is a cause here. We accept these you bring in the hopes we can affect their minds to be whole and in the hopes that even clones may rise above that of the normal of humans. There is but one price. That you become their guardian and steward,...a parent after a fashion. We have heard of your exploits and these we do not approve but the cause is just and our help you will receive if you agree."
