The next morning the group saddled their horses and headed back onto the road and headed towards the Kobold lands.

"Is there anything else you can tell me about the kobolds?" Epineh asked.

"Well they are short people who look not dissimilar to a bipedal dog," Kalan said "They like building a group consensus before acting. Their government and leadership style is odd, they tend to allow whoever is most knowledgeable about a situation to take the leadership role and so it swaps often. That can make dealing with them exhausting as you don't know who you might be taking to between visits but they are very loyal once you've made a deal."

Epineh nodded as she took it all in.

"We'll have a choice on what way to go once were out of the clan lands and mountains," Kalan said "Either we can take the roads, cutting across your kingdoms lands, then into the Kobold lands, or we can go by river, that stays out of your lands and it should be quicker, but there has been some issues with the lizard men in the area."

"Ah. What issues?" Epineh asked.

"It's not 100% clear, but they charge tolls to use their waterways. But recently barges and ships have been disappearing even after paying the toll," Kalan said.

"Ah. We need to be quick though," Epineh said.

Kalan nods in understanding "Then I'd suggest the river, even with the risk," he said.

"We'll deal with the lizard folk when we come to them," Epineh said.

"Very, well then we'll head towards the river. It's about two days from here," Kalan said.

Epineh nodded.

"That sounds good."
