Piper comes into class and sits as far back as physically possible and reaches into his bag. After some struggle he finds what he’s looking for: a laser pointer. Before he begins his mischief he checks at his phone.

Sage sits down next to Hunter and begins to get out their notes. They do however take notice of Piper and give a quick glance back at him, kinda just to acknowledge his existence.

Turning back to her notes she thinks aloud partially to Hunter partially to herself.

“Did we have homework…I mean I know I did it but did we…?”

Trouble sits next to Imp, and subtly texts back a reply. "I thought we were 'ghost hunting' tonight. Does that count?"

She glares subtly at Sage for reminding the teacher, as she had been hoping for more time to make sure her answers were right.

Hunter is sitting straight in his seat next to Sage, waiting patiently for class to begin.

"Yes Sage, there was homework." he chuckles.

Sage begins reaching down into his bag and says

“O-oh good... I knew I was forgetting something”

As he finds and pulls out a completed sheet of homework

At Imp's question, Niles--or, Pharrolax one would suppose--spun around. As they turned around, they still held the piece of chalk in front of them, wrist cocked into writing position.

There was a smile on Berman's face.

"Well, Imp, it's funny you should ask. See, my theory is that there are no differences at all! No, that's completely impossible, starting with you, Pharrolax. Oh, stuff it, Niles. Homework!"

Pharrolax started wheeling down the rows, picking up homework from people. She stopped at Trouble, looking down and quietly saying, "I'm sure your assignment was excellent, godling."

She winked at Trouble in a strange, friendly, authoritative sort of way--the sort of wink only a vaguely hip teacher could wink at a favored student.

Continuing down the way, she also paused at Piper, smiling down at the infernal brat.

"I'm sure you have your homework, Piper?"

Hunter

It was Noah, who had taken a seat that was usually someone else's.

"Hey dude, everybody's talking about you. Sorry I was a jerk in PE, dude. You want to hunt ghosts with me and Trouble later?"

He was smiling, leaning over, and reaching a hand out to shake Hunter's hand--a proverbial olive branch.

Imp pouts, hoping to hear more, but pulls out her homework alongside everyone else.

The handwriting is very scratchy, and it looks like it got handled roughly with clawed hands. One corner is torn straight off.

When she gets passed by the teacher, she reads the message, grins with full teeth, and puts her phone away.

Hunter gives Noah a small smile, and shakes his hand.

"Don't worry about it! Ghost hunting, huh? Sounds fun, I'm in.'

OOC: I got nothing more to add Sage is just sittin there listenin if they need to do something they will

“Of course prof, I’m just looking for it. Why don’t you move on for now and I’ll hand it to you when I find it.”
Piper is pretending to look for it in his backpack and is preparing to use the laser pointer once the teacher is back at the front of the class.

Trouble nods and smiles at the teacher, trying to put on a "yes I'm sure I did, thank you" face to the teacher, while silently dying on the inside. Overhearing Hunter's convo with Noah, she grins at Hunter in excitement that he'll be joining them.

Pharrolax frowned at Piper, and on her way back to the front she winked to Trouble. Hestia was her favorite student, and she did very poorly at trying not to show it. Maybe it was a god thing, but Pharrolax was constantly preferential to Trouble, perhaps even more so than Trouble would be willing to accept.

Back at the front of the class, Niles took over.

...well, at least until Piper started using the laser pointer.

At first it wasn't so bad. Then, Pharrolax leapt at the red dot, crashing fully through the chalk board and the wall behind it, putting a sizeable hole in the wall. Suddenly, the whole class turned back around to Piper. Suddenly, everyone was judging Piper.

OOC: Piper, take a powerful blow. :)

Piper is failing to cover up his laughter. Caliban, ever the smart one, quickly swipes the laser pointer and scurries away. Piper turns the person sitting next to him
“Did-hehe- Did you see who did it? I didn’t”

Rolled a 5 to take a powerful blow B^)

A few moments later, the teacher rose out of the wreckage, and stepped back into the classroom, looking for an explanation.

OOC: Instant condition clear if you rat out Piper (everyone knows who did it).

Sage doesn't really do anything; she just sits there, frozen, staring forward in both horror and amazement.

Imp is slack jawed, mouth hung open. She glances at Trouble, just to confirm her sister saw this too.

Honestly, she’s almost impressed by the balls this kid had. And also making internal bets on how screwed he was. Somewhere between expulsion and execution.

She then jerks her clawed thumb at Piper, in fear that somehow, some way, this could be pinned on her.

Hunter looks back, immediately understanding who did this like everyone else. He then lets out a heavy sigh and puts his head in his hands.

Trouble stares back at Imp before she turns and just stares at Piper in wonder, unintentionally ratting him out. She can't believe what he just did, and wonders how much of that was intentional and how much of that wasn't.

OOC: I hope this counts to clear a condition cuz Imma clear Afraid-

Well, the teacher said very little, only smoldered from across the room and after several moments, said, "Piper! Detention, tomorrow!"

The whole class, first quiet, now went tense. Detention was no joke at Phoenix Academy. It was harsh, punitive, even brutal. The offending student and their whole team had to complete a challenge.

And, it went without saying, everybody knew Piper had no team. Perhaps for this reason, no faculty member had yet given him detention. It seemed that this goodwill had just dwindled to nil, however.

Slowly, the eyes in the room drew back to Piper, to see what he would do or say.

Sage stares back at Piper unsure what to say or do. They look like they are about to say something out loud but turn back to face the teacher.

“U-hh Mx Niles--or, Pharrolax…”

Hunter knew what detention meant, same as everyone else. He looked over at Sage as they began to speak... he knew what she was thinking. He knew he should be the one to say it.

So he did.

Slamming his palms onto his desk, he rises from his seat suddenly. He looks straight at the teacher and speaks, loudly and firmly.

"Sir! As of earlier today, Piper is a part of my team! That makes this incident my responibility as well!"

His gaze narrows.

"Along with the rest of my team... Sage... Imp... and Hestia."

He sits back down.

"Tomorrow. We'll be there."

Sage is kind of taken aback by the sudden noise, but after processing what Hunter is saying he re-adjusts in his seat and nods in silent agreement.

Piper was composed and ready with a snarky response. Before he gets the opportunity to retort, Hunter stands up for him. Piper is genuinely dumbfounded.

Trouble frowns a bit, not looking forward to detention. But ... she looks back at Piper again. He's interesting, and might add something to the team that they've been missing.

The stunned silence is broken by the thump of Imp’s head hitting her desk and a groan of irritation because of course Boy-Scout-Hunter would make that kinda call without even asking the rest of the team.

From between her arms, she (not so) subtly glares at Piper. Her tail swishes back and forth behind her like an irritated cat.
