Re: OOC: Table Talk

You ARE potentially multiversal threats like that.

Most not all of the 100 will have some sort of exotic means of travel such as time or dimensional. You decide if they're foes. The PL-0 humans typically won't have access to such things at least to start.

There aren't many with you look at them, you trigger a save type powers but they do exist.

You're forgetting orbital snipers. The silver lining is anyone who starts offing members of the 100 are going to be noticed by members of the 100 ergo, if someone proves to be an obscenely dangerous threat people will team up to stop them, but that includes you. Also I draw a distinction between being obscenely dangerous and proving to others that you are obscenely dangerous.

Re: OOC: Table Talk

Well potential threats :) Jennifer's not much of a threat to most people. More of a healer/carer type (I hope). But you are right of course: if she gets pissed... then a PL 20 getting pissed is going to be messy.

I didn't forget the orbital striker by the way. I was just saying that we could reduce the threat enormously with those powers. And we don't all need them... just some of us.

The way I see it there is no significant difference between an orbital sniper and a speedster. Both work the same way: an attack so fast you can't see it delivering enormous kinetic energy. If the attack is the speed-ster punching you at mach 20, or a Rod from God at mach 20... it's the same.

But at pl 20 we can probably survive both attacks. Maybe even without flinching.

A punch from Magni might well be as potent as a rod from God or a small tactical nuke. I'm guessing he can do a str 30 attack... with an all out attack that's 35. So that's not messing around... That's pretty much the damage of the extreme attack you gave earlier.

Anyway I am looking forward to seeing how it works out. I hope the game has a lot of RP as well as combat. And the option to do things. I don't have the omniscience powers, but with luck I'll be able to contribute.

Likewise.  I built for concept, not to optimize against every conceivable threat, but it would be easy to bolt some sensory and defensive powers onto Ozma-- her powers are psionic in nature.

Re: OOC: Table Talk

I'll likely be shuffling around some numbers to find a way to fit in 6 points for all 3 ranks of Movement (Time Travel), and 6 more points for all 3 ranks of Movement (Dimension Travel).  That seems pretty preposterously cheap, just 12 points to be able to travel to any moment in time in any dimension in the multiverse, but it's not radically out of character for a being made entirely out of photons I suppose.  :)  So we'll have some of that angle covered at least.

@GM
How did the water ballet go?

@Ozma
Yes to both comments. I like your description by the way :)

@Aurora
You are right of course about the cheapness. I've never played in a game before when either were allowed. I'm curious about how it will work :)

Re: OOC: Table Talk

First night went fairly well. The GFI tripped several times in the first show and we lost sound and part of the set deflated, but we sorted that by the second show. Feeling spongy and bruised.
3 hours till call we have to rebuild the set and be ready for two more shows this afternoon. But after we strike the set tonight that's it till Friday.

Re: OOC: Table Talk

I have to say you have a different vocabulary for this
* GFI obviously stands for Global Financial Instrument
* Sleep Dentist Sleep????

I'm glad it went well. Feeling 'spongy and bruised' can be good or bad

Re: OOC: Table Talk

Sorry, that's my schedule for today. I have a dental cleaning at 9a also, still tired and my every last muscle is screaming at me about that workout.

Yes GFI ground fault interrupt, it's an anti-electricution circuit required in bathroom, and some kitchen/outdoor outlets such as any at a pool. Salient point being they interrupt the circuit (switch it off automatically) if the connector gets wet.

Re: OOC: Table Talk

yeah... dentists... essential but not fun. Unless you are in 'little shop of horrors'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOtMizMQ6oM

Can I request that we get an IC place to chat in? It's nice to get energy in a game and I think we all want to explore our new characters. It doesn't take much effort from yourself: just a thread with an intro text about what the place is like where we are.

*laughs* Yes. Gosh I had no idea I'd posted it here...

I went looking for it in the other game and thought 'where did my post go'. Thanks Ozma

Second to last day of the Water Ballet I'm directing, then I collapse into a puddle of chlorinated water and aching muscles. I told you not to expect movement for at least a month.

Re: OOC: Table Talk

I'd suggest some movement, after all that exercise.  You don't want to cramp up or anything, after all.  Let yourself cool down.

In reply to Div-0 (msg # 182):

You did say that!  But then you also said "sleep dentist sleep give this some attention."  :)  So I was confused, sorry.  If we're just idling for now then that's ok by me.

No pressure or anything, but just checking back in here!  There (frustratingly) hasn't been a lot of games on RPoL lately that have interested me much, I'd love if this one were to show signs of life  :)

Re: OOC: Table Talk

So....  ponder upon a question of RPoL etiquette here with me, fellow gamers.  :)

How often is it polite to bump a game in a situation like this?  I genuinely don't want to be a pest, and if the GM still has ongoing life hassles keeping him distracted from gaming then I totally understand and don't cast any blame at all.  But at the same time I also want to express that I still have some enthusiasm for my character and the game concept, and would regret it if the possibility of moving forward on this one were to fall out of peoples' minds just because it's been another couple of months since we checked in last.

Anyways, don't mind me, just sort of musing out loud.  :)

Re: OOC: Table Talk

I'm all for it. Other people aren't. So I don't think there are any rules

What I sometimes do is 'once per month' post 'still interested'.

Like you I'd like to see this game turn into reality
