Scene 4: The Tavern

With the Weary Traveler out of the question, Frack and Thelonious found Tukoa's other eating (and drinking) establishment, The Tiger's Tail. The interior suggested the Weary Traveler was by far the better of the two buildings. The Tiger's Tail, on the other hand, had a worn look, and a musty, sweaty scent lingered in the dimly lit dining area. There were only three patrons seated there. One was at the bar and another two sat at a table near a window.

Behind the bar stood an elf in an apron and crooked nose. She wasn't homely, but lacked the elegant grace of her kinfolk. Maybe it was her clothing, or the fact that her hair was pulled back and balled up messily behind her head. She eyed the incoming pair as they scanned the tavern. Unlike the barkeep at the Weary Traveler, however, she acknowledged Thelonious and Frack civilly. "Welcome," she said with a slight smile. "Have a seat and I will be with you in a minute."

21:57, Today: DM rolled 74 using 1d100.  Is the tavern nice? 50/50 chaos 4 = 65%.
22:03, Today: DM rolled 43 using 1d100.  Is the Tiger's Tail busy (chaos 4 = 35%)?
22:04, Today: DM rolled 17 using 1d100.  Is barkeep ok with goblins? (chaos 4 = 65%).

Thelonius pulled out a chair at the table next to him, setting his pack down beside him. "They seem to be more civil here," he concluded softly to Frack. "That's good."

Scene 4: The Tavern

Frack heaved a sigh of relief at the barkeeper's tolerance. In general, his luck with elves was only fair at best, but this case seemed more favorable. "Well, at least we can get something to eat that isn't rations." He waited for the strangely friendly elf to approach, digging out his silver coins as he did.

"I don't have a lot of money and I'm going to guess that you're not wealthy either. Unless I'm wrong, we're going to have to find some work."

After a minute, the elf came to the table to greet her newest patrons. She gave each a curious glance, but showed no sign of disapproval. "Welcome to the Tiger's Tail. And welcome to Tukoa - I've not seen you before, so unless you've been eating somewhere else, I suspect you're new to town?"

She read off a modest list of available food and awaited an order.

"You're correct. We are new here. And we're looking for work. And something called a golden goose. Heard of anything like that?"

He ordered bread, cheese, and ale for both himself and Thelonius.

OOC: 4 sp total for 2 ales + bread and cheese for both of them
