A kento is the Japanese word for whetstone, essentially, and you may want to spend the crucial time before combat whetting your blades, metaphorically so. Notably Lionel is a Zen Archer of sorts, but I ask, does your astral construct based on ectopic form allow for literally becoming your constructs and operating their minds? Before I could add my own response to that, I wanted to clarify, your class comes from D&D 4e? That would mean Mongo's 438 pounds would be able to slosh into deadly combat with the temerity of a true gargantuan. Maybe you could speak to him in Giant.

My question applies for Cahur and Nisha as well, just looking for the source of your classes so I can crunch some things on my end.

So to the new three, Essentia is like power points and is from 4th edition? My take is that Essentia will become bigger later on to diminish the power of magic in the world.

Actually, Initiative is +1. It is found on the same line as my HP. So 21 for Mongo.
4+I is my notation for how many skill points per level as a Warblade. 4 + Intelligence modifier

Essentia is like energy. You can have a certain "normal configuration", but you can change it. If the essentia is invested in soulmelds. Those invested in feats, are generally fixed for the day.


My class, shadowcaster... They say that you have to try everything once. I read the handbooks, specially Pulvis et Umbra.
I don't see myself playing a shadowcaster anytime again soon.

Having a hard time picturing the room. Is it underwater? Or are you just talking about the pool around the kuo toa statue? For that matter, how high is the statue, and how far from the corner with the chest is it? Can I destroy one leg and have it topple to that corner, cutting off the morhg from reaching the chest?

The Astral Construct doesn't even have a mind of its own :). There is a feat that you can take to "wear" you astral construct, but I am not going to take it. Ardent is full 3.5. It is from Complete Psionics.

The room is surrounded as if there is a fountain of life splurging around the periphery of the enclosed box, kind of like the movie the cube in which there is a limbo outside of the main areas that is basically empty black space, which is filled with specters. Like the boiler room guy from Spirited Away, the guy from Fantastic Four or One Piece he can stretch his arms to change the plane from water to air, by opening the chest and hiding his heart there, thus the extra experience for getting into the chest. The room is isolated from the planes but you never know if you destroy him if there is a leak or rapture causing melding.

The mohrg moves lightning fast like Allah swimming through water and thus his lightning bolt, which can;t affect your armor (the three new guys, IIRC Mongo you have some pretty good armor), can move outside the planes with extra-spacial termes in his favorite language Auran (isn't it everyone's favorite?).

Sorry, still not getting it. What enclosed box? How is there empty space around the center? Where would the kua toa statue go?

The water and air planes link in Carceri the prison plane (Jack's Journal, of which there is one sole copy, might yet contain info about it). You don't know the mohrg's name, but you can roll Knowledge (religion) vs. a DC of 30 to figure out how the mohrg is specifically linked to the torturer he mentioned, Adimarchus. You know one thing about Carceri, which is that its sigils were usually borne by lepers.

The room is your current location, which is surrounded by Elohim-esque beings made up of water and air (like human beings, sort of), whose motion caused them to spin around the room with the fountain which you're currently in. Imagine the Earth with a solid core, mantle, and crust. The room is like that. It's special, but the magma around the core is made up of moving convection currents of water and air. The metaphor of Jewish lore is the extra-spatial nature of God, hence the Elohim.

The morhg's connection to the chest means if he opens it, he unplugs some of the layers of the water and air planes cockholes, which are filled by gargoyle-esque kuo-toa depictions.

I have NO IDEA where Mongo or the Morhg are in this room, if it is a room to begin with, so declaring an action or attack is not possible


It sounds like an intersection between elemental planes of Earth and Air, with Void filling the spaces between, and a central area of Elemental water, where the kuo toa statue is. Is that about right?


No idea what Essentia, Shadowmelds or asterix are.

Essentia are from Magic of Incarnum. For example, Cahir is a Totemist. He has Soulmelds, Incarnum feats and Essentia to invest in those Soulmelds and feats.

Shadowmelds... I don't know. Perhaps a special type of shadow soulmeld invented by our DM? Wlake.gntn did say that Nix was going to help us all with gifts.

The chest harkens back to Zelda Ocarina of Time or Asheron's Call with Sturdy Iron Keys, a strong bit of crunch. The mohrg treats it like a closet space for his investigations into town in which he settles down to start unloading and trading all sorts of items to perpetuate his own undeath. They say magic weapons function differently as undead, and sometimes the plant life (some pathogens in the water here, kuo-toa have been known to pass off magical disease and are also highly susceptible to it.)

The room is half-enclosed with an earthbound mound that rises out of the water and hoists up the mohrg. The flavor text simply indicates that there is an occult element to the enclosure that could either mean it's filled with highly oxygenated air or is the stopping point for Jewish lore, for one of the ancient scripts in the world looks like Hebrew. You might even come to find that the chest, which is in the upper-left corner of the room, would have some powerful scrolls in it and this place once traveled between worlds with Kriturk, which alternatively functions like Sanskrit. Not sure if your guys skills such as Decipher Script would be of use, but knowing the language is the best way to start doing things based on ancient philosophical principles, such as hyper-powerful beings coarsing through the very fabric of time and space simply as a hand-wave.

The water sloshes around and drains outside into a Niagara Falls esque open and beautiful environment. Some potent magic was worked here, and the Kriturk scrolls could net you some good coin assuming stakcs of it don't get filched by the minions of darkness.

The terms you asked about, Mongo, mostly were magical systems mentioned in the character sheets. Showmelding was such a thing, astirax are described in the previous posts and come from the Midnight book, and Essentia is another casting system from the character sheets.

The statue is part of a terraced structure so behind the mohrg is falling water, chest in the corner, he's on a tumulus floating using potent magics. It would help to imagine the room as a church that is constantly moving but the water remains still.
