I have basic sheet for a druid ready, but there are some questions important to the background and some details on the character development.

Druids are good. You know I'm a fey, and 'in genre' we tend to get on with druids.

Re: OOC Thread
I'm, very flexible about rules so hopefully you won't have to pump too much time into a character. My understanding was that the up-and-coming religion (or the indie version) had more occultpower than Zeus who is the king. But We can say Zeus gives you 8 points a day to cast spells from any school, arcane or divine. Izrador can thus hide behind the scenes. Basically I was dropping the religious milieu as part of the introduction but if you as a player would like to intertwine some lore, please do so. Lady Maevre, however you want your new PC is good, so you can post it on here 'cause I like to keep the interface minimal for my sense of timekeeping. So you could link me to a character if you guys want 'cause I'll mostly be checking OOC and IC threads.

Eliena, Zeus works just like any other god in a fantasy realm, but posts about the surrounding Greek lore are good 'cause I think the corpus slots in well to D&D. So Maevre I tink there could be a lot of fluidity between our games. I'm guessing you include ressurrection and talk with plants and ultimately have a richly historical setting. I hope your game goes well. I'll have to check out the movie.

My idea was based on the fact that in the Iliad Poseidon wanted to destroy Odysseus but Athena wanted to save him. SO the pantheon wasn't homogenous by any means.

Let's go with a simple spell points casting system 8 + level, gain 8 each level, spells cost in points their level, sleep restores all points.

No word from the other players but I will move forward with just you two if you're both cool wit that. Also very flexible about posting rate, I'll probably post every 2-3 days but we can go at a leisurely pace.

I uploaded the game area where the demon struck, there's now a blight and hyou hear tell of the Striders of Farlaghyn. People telling tales in the future say they somehow exploited your efforts in allaying the demon's demon plague. Now his body lies on the surfy escarpment below the city. You guys are students of a certain guild (of your choosing) or some other relation, whichever you guys would like.

Re: OOC Thread
From PM thread to kark2:

I'm personally not a big fan of character creation. As a DM, I have some experience, but not much, 'cause we only ever played the lower levels. So I'm hoping to get the party to high levels and as such death won't be a major issue unless a character goes way off the deep end. So I'll be flying by the seat of my pants with what 3.5 books I have. I'd say that min-maxing isn;t a big deal 'cause I'm not testing the limitations of the system, more just fun with mathematics and player support. So more fluff, less crunch, D&D 3.5 framework without grid so things like AoO won't be there.

As far as social skills go, my opinion is that they are roleplayed. The exception is knowledge and concentration checks, which I think apply to social situations but are a little more niche. I would say I lean heavy on the idea of powerful characters, but the more you dif into the depths, the stronger the enemies will be.

To me it would be 3d6 for all stats and then the magic system I posted in the rules about 8 points a day. Basically that means upper levels are more limited and lower levels can be just as fun.

Re: OOC Thread
We had all these discussions before and agreed on a character creation. With attribute by points. link to a message in this game

My character maevre has been created in line with that. 32 points on http://www.propelled.de/extern/chargen

Can I suggest go with that?

So... is this going to be modern fantasy?

Re: OOC Thread
It didn't feel modern. It felt like D&D with the gods taking a much more active roll. They were there 'in spirit' in the exciting combats, and for all I know we could influence the battle by influencing them

I like the kineticists. I do like the psionic rules: I think they are a better magic system than the standard. Note that in this game all magic uses rules very similar to psionics. I sort of regret not playing a spell caster so I can explore the systems...

Re: OOC Thread
The modern bit is simply one idea among many. In essence, unless otherwise stated, I will go with the idea that proper nouns are used in a purely fantasy milieu, with attached roleplay. o a guy named Louis XVII uses French magic and so forth or the nation is renamed with fantasy names but ends up being French. But at the end of the day he's still just another name. I whipped out my Divine and the Defeated so those gods and the greek gods are the main ones with the religious subcultures I was discussing before. Leaning toward storytelling but there will be sufficient combats, but while I'm a proficient writer, I'm just a starting GM.

Chuuls mingle and hump, not to mention growl at the edge of the line of sight. The blink dogs have mostly left, leaving a fractured carapace of nacrey droppings. Chances are they descended from the cloud realms and they might be valuable. But it's hard to see that unless you succeed on a spot check. I can do the spot checks on the GM side.

Zeus will be making his way onto the scene at some point, bearing the aegis. The elven guys are trying to siphon his power by trapping him in something called a soul cage. The nearest town is Baden's Bluff and this scorched earth demon-blasted has a rich history which you could learn much about.

Psionics aren't as interesting as good ol' arcane and divine, so we'll stick with those two.

The chuuls and blink dogs don't seem to be intimidated but they might be a clue to the chaos spinning around you, or at this point, where the adrenaline's still pumping but you have a more lucid mind.

You start to notice a distinct Rory's Telepathic Bond with the groups of elves.

No problems Ileana, basically we can start the combat with the next scene, and we can continue from there.

Let's just clarify character creation

I am created with 32 attribute points, I am third level. I have no wealth at all: nothing other than the clothes I stand up in.

Yes, please, lets...
wlake.gmtn:

wlake.gmtn:
All source books allowed, including third party material.

I was creating my character with the psionics rules. So, you are banning psionics then?

Lady Maevre:

wlake.gmtn:
Starting at level 1, with a plan to advance to level 20.

So... at what level do we start?

Re: OOC Thread
All good questions Cregan. I made my level clear so we can get clarity.

Questions are :
* how to generate attributes. I linked to where we had this discussion in the past and the resolution (32 points)
* What level. I am level 3. What about LAs etc
* How to generate starting wealth (I have none)
* What materials are allowed.

Re: OOC Thread
Psionics are permitted. When you mention them I automatically think of Akira, in fact the whole movie is like a perfect readout of the ideas behind psionics. SO maybe not the tumorous outgrowths but the relatedness to  verbal, somatic and material components. IMO psionics involve biomods sometimes but we can ignore that and go with a cinematic feel of like a Pro X or Tetsuo, maybe even Gunter Grass.

Since Lady Maevre did a level 3 start, we can do that since level one can be dangerous especially with a d4 for the wizard (kinda makes ya want ta min-max in a computer MMORPG) to keep that wizard alive.

So I'm open to both 32 points and 4d6 drop weakest, those seem to be more compatible than 32 points or 3d6. If you already made it though, we can make up for weaknesses and strengths as we go on.

100 GP to start plus one magic item up to 1000 gp.

In your vicinity there is a vardatch(toothed-serrated) blade used by orcs and ogrun. Good things to bring are bedrolls, although there will be ample rooms to stay in since there is ample trade through Baden's Bluff. So Midnight map minus the dark theme (I like the location names). So you're on the Sea of Pelluria and it's a jungle environment brimming wityh demonic activity but most folks overlook that. It had been 11,000 years since the last appearance of a demon, which you guys discovered in one of Baden's Bluff's classes. So you get +1 to intelligence automatically from the good education. Classic armor and weapons are arriving on a wagon if you would like to approach him through the gate, but there's a toll, though he looks friendly enough to let you jump on in. He's saying something about scars and tattooes.

Still waiting on the others, I guess.

At 3rd level we should have 2700 gp in equipment. Is there a reason to give us so little money?

Re: OOC Thread
I wouldn't worry about it we'll just start without stuff. Hopefully we'll find stuff as we go:)

I have the feeling the that GM is implying we can start

If that's case can you do a scene setting post Mr GM? I would recommend a chance for us two to RP before we get into any thing complex.
