Campaign Setup  (OOC thread)

Welcome Paul and Rogue!

You're the only two who've requested to join so far, so this'll be a cozy game.  If you have any friends who might be interested, feel free to invite them.

Read through the Investigator Creation thread and let me know if anything is unclear.  Then make up your character sheet and once I've looked them over and cleared up any questions I have, we'll begin.

Again, Welcome, welcome!

Thank you, thank you Mr GM type person. I think I've got what you want for the character sheet so if you could make those user editable for us please. Was even generous and gave you a free NPC in the form of an enemy of Paul's

You can call my character Jack Dougherty. I'll get the sheet done tonight.

Okay, I've opened up character sheets for both of you.  If there's anything else you need from me, please let me know.

Just out of curiosity (and because I'm still refamiliarizing myself with rpol's interface), What threads can you guys see in the game menu?

Right? That's the trick isn't it? But he's gonna give it his best shot.

Campaign Setup  (OOC thread)

Perfect!  Both your characters look great.  Thank you for getting those sheets done.  I love the flavor you're both adding to the story.

I realized I never explained how the characters' Strengths and Weaknesses come into play, mechanically.

If your Strength relates to a roll being made, you can gain a bonus to the roll; +5 to +20, depending on circumstances and how directly it relates.  If your Weakness relates to the roll, you might get a similar penalty when rolling.  Naturally, you guys will probably notice the Strength bonus possibility more often, and I'll probably notice the Weakness possibility more often, but anyone can call out for one or the other, even for other players.  The more directly you can tie it into your roleplaying, the better chances of receiving the Strength bonus.  And there may be times I pull on your Weaknesses to heighten the struggle.  Also note, I'm less likely to call out the Weakness for roll penalties if I'm seeing the Weakness being roleplayed out flavorfully in the story.  (I'll add this rule desrciption to the Character Creation thread.)

Last questions I need answered before we can begin:

Which one of you would like to own the house you are currently meeting in?

Are there any questions you guys have for me before we begin?

I don't think it's Paul's house. He doesn't really own a house or residence currently.

Do we need the Call of Cthulu 7e rules for the game? You did say it was rules lite, but having a copy might be a good idea, huh?
