OOC:

Hi everyone.

In this game I'll be playing Elusia Sorrowsworn, a Knight-Zephyros who has a bone to pick with the undead, and looking to show a side to the Stormcast that's at least a little less bright and shiny.

Obviously as a Stormcast Eternal I'm not literally part of the Binding, so I haven't really got anything to offer when it comes to how well all that played out. I'd posit that Elusia isn't overly happy to be bound up in this whole situation, even if she'd never defy the order, so she likely didn't make the best first impression with the rest of the Binding. Probably seems pretty cold and aloof, particularly considering the connection you all share now yet she lacks.

Sidenote: I'm having the hardest time remembering that it's Elusia and not Elucia, so don't be surprised if I keep accidentally switching between them in the early days.

That's probably not a bad idea, yeah. Could I possibly have the full name while you're at it, please - Elucia Sorrowsworn?

Now to just hope I don't have the same problem in reverse...

Hi all

Jorik Sternbok is you rough and tumble grimwrath berserker he's gruff and matter of fact. His solution to most things is hit it as hard as possible and the more there is to hit the happier he is.

Saying that he doesn't have a death wish but will defend his companions with his life if needed

Oh, we're going to get on like a house on fire ... but likely in the extensive property damage and risk to life sense.

I can't wait for Elucia and Jorik to get into a fight mid-battle about who should bite the bullet for the sake of the team.

Zakarr Kromnarsson, freelance Endrinmaster reporting for duty. Stern, Pragmatic, and the only source of (relative) levity. That said, he's still fairly dour and just happens to know more about dealing with people without terrifying them.

While he's more than capable of holding his own in a fight, he's more the sort to keep behind the lines and coordinating things rather than throwing himself at the enemy like Jorik and Elusia.

Hi to all!

I am currently playing Eris Lightweaver, a mage from the College of Light, Soulbound because of circumstances not completely in her control.

Seeking to make her a versatile spell caster with some healing and support abilities.

Hi all.  Kaltos Stareye, Knight-Incantor.  I'm a long time Warhammer player, but the old school, not Age of Sigmar, so this is pretty new to me.  I like the dynamic and feel of it, seems pretty epic.  Looks like a great group going here.

Nice. We have two Stormcast characters, they are always cool. Kaltos, since you are an Incantor, we currently have two spellcasters. Is that a preferable thing?

Two casters can of course help each other, which offers interesting possibilities (+2-3 dice make a huge difference). On the other hand, diversity is magnificent and we lack some ranged capacity and have zero priests at this point for example. Pondering all this because I have about dozen character concepts I love in my head.

To be honest I was planning on swapping out so that we didn't have two Stormcast. That's totally fine with me as I had several ideas when I applied.

Please don't feel even the slightest shred of guilt for this, Kaltos. Entirely my own choice :)

I swapped off from Skyrigger to Endrinmaster - Still can shoot and I got Tactician to help out Jorik's swinging (and anyone else who goes into melee).

Party composition is NOT a headache for the players. Just the GM.

When I was thinking our friendly Elucia could fly.. because tabletop Azyros can. And we had two karadron, I was thinking perhaps I need to change the location of our first adventure so everyone can be what they are best at...

Now I have a new headache, how to deal with three casters (Branchwych incoming.. arrived).

It seemed petty to restrict people since no-one else runs Soulbound on rpol and I'm the worst GM ever.

Don't worry about it, it seems like it's a first time for a lot of us and we want to make sure we're not stepping on each other's shoes.

I hope this doesn't make things worse, if it does I'll remove it and zap everyone with a memory eraser and move on.  But maybe I can offer a suggestion.

If we know how many players are in the group (whether currently or projected) and party balance is a concern for the players as well (sometimes it's simply a desire to be unique), maybe we could discuss what we want the party to have as far as roles are concerned, as well as Archetypes.  So if we have a party of 6 we can maybe say we should have no more than 2 casters, 1 priest, 2 melee and 1 ranged/mobile (this is just an example, not necessarily my suggestion).  Then from there, the PCs volunteer for the role that they really want to take.  We've all seemed pretty flexible, I just turned in a sheet, but it's my first time with this game system, I can change to something else and submit that.

This might eliminate some headaches about party composition (I hope it wouldn't make it worse) that can have everyone OK with it.  It's a bit like the way that people in my real life gaming table often go about deciding their characters for a new game.

If this just opened a can of worms though, by all means erase it and move forward as we are, it will still be fun to play I'm sure.

If the GM hasn't got a problem with things then I really don't think we need to overthink them. Obviously there's something to be said for a party that checks all the boxes, but I really can't imagine a trio of spellcasters not being able to provide adequate ranged damage, buffs/debuffs and utility to fill in for any absent priests or ranged attackers. At the end of the day I'd say what matters most is that people are happy with what they're playing.

I'd put in for a Witch Aelf before you posted that, and I'm quite happy to be switching to an archetype I both want to play and that delivers on things we don't really have right now (Aelf, morally dubious, sneaky-stabby).

Hmmm, now we seem to have sooo many people willing to switch characters if needed. I was also having Tactician as a talent, but I think.

I have a proposal, but I would Arthenadon to stay a Branchwych for it. I would like to try a character I had in a game that died too soon: a Sylvaneth Spite-Revenant. It would be a great roleplay opportunity, but I would like to have Arthenadon as a Branchwych for it.

That way we would have 2 casters, nice protection for them, enough ranged problem solving and a Tactician among us.

Is it okay for GM, if I switch to a Spite-Revenant? And another thing: are we going to choose sub-factions?
