We are open for Light RP! While preludes finish up and I see if we get more players, feel free to light RP in public areas if you wish. You don't need my jurisdiction or approval for minor rolls or effects that enhance play, just nothing big!

We will say this RP takes place the evening before the night the game begins.

Wizards and Faeries." -- Noah23, King Night

Hello everyone! I have been playing RPGs since I was in 4th grade and playing White Wolf since 1994. I teach Special Ed and run my own Astrological Counseling and Meditation Center. I also love to create interactive art events with LARP elements and spiritual components. I am very friendly and open to discussion about anything.

One of my favorite music genres is Witch House, which is very Mage. Any fans?

Hiya! I too have been playing RPGs since an early age. Also a big LARP fan (goin to a one night Mage LARP set in 1946 in a few weeks as a matter of fact). I'm on the older side of average for folks here so I've been around the block or two. :-0

I have a public health and technology background and my fave music genres are classic rock, folk rock, and really esoteric and weird crap. I hadn't heard of Witch House until now - I need to check it out.

Salvete Sodales!

So yeah, obviously a longtime Ars Magica fan here.  It's what got me into WoD actually.  It's also the reason I get to grumble about a few decades worth of bad Tremere who don't take Latin or know anything about the house.  But I digress?

Aside from that, been gaming since the 6th grade.  Started off with pen and paper and quickly got into tabletop wargaming, 'cause I needed to be an even bigger nerd.  Or something.

And much like the powers that be, I am one of those poor underpaid fools that attempts to educate the youths.  Except instead of being a saint and doing special ed, I'm a grumpy old history teacher.  And psychology.  And economics.  And whatever the hell else admin decides to throw at me a week before the marking period.

Hello! I've been roleplaying for the last twenty years and more, most of it online. Mage was the game that got me out of regular dungeon-crawling and interested in urban fantasy, and Changeling is probably my favourite among the WoD line. :)

I work in IT and programming, which is not terribly interesting.

Oh man, another person in education checking in, here. I have been running and playing in games since I was in middle school, and I love Changeling The Dreaming more than virtually any other WoD game. I like the fact that it is so steeped in faerie lore. I'm looking forward to playing with all of you.

Haha, all us poor underpaid buggers eh?

And CtD is amazing mate, so no arguments here!  Definitely in my top three splats of oWoD, that's for sure!  But yeah, there's a reason I've been bouncing around another idea involving a faerie blooded member of House Merinita with ties to Skathach.

OOC Chat

Hi all, I have been around a good while in the RTJ section, nailing down a character.

Nice to finally introduce myself proper, as I wanted something substantial before doing so.

So let's see here, in no particular order....

Been gaming since I was 12 or 13, started with AD&D and GURPS 3rd. These days, I mostly play Pathfinder 1e. I have vague experience with a few other game systems, like Shadowrun 4th and Rifts (never got a Rifts game off the ground, but one day....)

For White Wolf stuff, I have actual playing experience with Dark Ages: Vampire and Wraith 2nd more than anything else. Been dying to play Mage the Ascension. And...to be honest I wasn't a big fan of Changeling as written.... The base concept is just fine with me, but I wasn't a fan of: A) how strict and harsh Banality was and B) I didn't, personally, think chimerical reality was a great fit when integrated with the larger canonical World of Darkness (a more custom game like this though, probably fits a lot better I would wager, with the explicit call for high magic from the ST). I think Changeling, as originally envisioned, would have been better suited for a more stand alone setting or rework it a lot. Having said that, I think Dark Ages Fae would have been a good starting point for making something for modern day oWoD. But that's just me, as I know plenty of people enjoy playing Changeling the Dreaming, case in point here.

Also, played a campaign each of Exalted 2e and Scion 1e, fun stuff but neither is perfect by any means.

also to Perion ex Tytalus: your House Merinita concept sounds fun. I never got into playing Ars Magica, but I wouldn't mind trying it out in the future. What little I have looked into it has been mostly to learn more about the game that birthed the Order of Hermes, as Mage the Ascension is by far my favorite White Wolf game line.

Hello folks. I’m still working on my sheet but it’s nice to join you. I’m not much for long introductions. I’ve been gaming for a while like many of you and CtD has always had a special place in my heart. This’ll be the first time I’ve ever played a satyr. Knockers are usually more my style but I think this one will be fun.

Gerald - I'm assuming that given the current weirdness Monty just doesn't notice the Glamour. I don't even know how that would come across to a mage TBH. He's likely brush it off as a phenomena of the pyramid anyway :-)

Yeah, it wasn't any kind of flashy effect, at least as far as I understand. :) It would probably have been visible to a Prime 1 see-Quintessence type Effect if you have one of those running, though.

Monty can be heard down below, moving about.

He called up to Jerome. "Uh...I think you better get down here with your pipe and pot lid. If we screw up I think we may have to deal with a couple of Guardians."

Er, could you please not imply that my character has fallen into a coma just because I didn't post for a few hours? :p Gerald would be right behind you. He's sworn to protect you, and he'll face severe consequences if he fails. He's definitely not just going to stand there staring into space while you wander off into potential danger.

Gerald-- just to be clear the enchantment did work on Alba, but she was also receiving visions from the magic staff that she came into possession of the night before and confused the sight of Gerald's true form with the other visions that were coming from the staff.

In reply to Gerald Hardhead (msg # 45):

It’s difficult trying to maintain some kind of simulation of real-time pace between multiple people engaged in dialogue over an online forum while the players in limited in the amount of time we’re able to get onto the game with the business of real lives.

In this moment Alba is reacting to Gerald’s description of the interaction between worlds with an immediate “let me see that!” to Monty more out of reaction to what Gerald is describing. It’s just harder to convey the actual dynamic over an online forum.
