That sounds like a good idea. We may want to decide if your characters know about eachother before we start. Aegis has a good point, what do you guys think you guys should be before the empowering event?

Determining connections sounds a good plan. My first thought is since Jean-Paul tends towards bodging things together, making things work, and with little regard for how things were or were supposed to be that he might be on the wrong philosophic end of repair and building than Abigail and foster some animosity between them.

Also, I had the thought to play Jean-Paul as a bit of a flirt and figured I'd ask if any of you do not consent to that being included.

As for other connections, I can't think of anything that stands out as obvious. Shared Gen Ed classes is one option, otherwise just running across each other on campus. Not sure.

I consent to being flirted with, but no guarantee Shubham will reciprocate ;)

We could go traditional route and have a favorite hangout. A diner like Archie Comics, or a Juice Bar like Power Rangers. Maybe a bowling alley could be a fun hangout: Star Strike Bowling! Lots to do in a bowling alley, usually arcade games and snooker can be played there, while being a chance for us to be on a team-or on opposing teams.

EDIT: Just saw Starro's Pizza in the RTJ, that can work nicely as a hangout.

Re: OOC

Basically it depends on how "new in town" everyone is. If everyone has only been there to attend the college then she is unlikely to  have met them considering the age gap. She might have met overdrive if he came into the garage looking to buy parts. But she may have heard of him due to him having built a microlite from scratch. Something like that is newspaper worthy!

In reply to Star Defender Wrench (msg # 23):

To be fair, even though my guy is 23, his military service ended recently, so he could be taking first year classes.

But whatever works for the party.

This was made about 8 years ago. And not exactly a microlite, in my head something closer to a moonshine powered jet was made. It got up, got close to Mach 1 before materials started failing and he took a bath in the Gulf of Mexico. But I can tune that down to fit with the aesthetic of the game. Kinda like a less ambitious version of The Astronaut Farmer.

He's maybe been in town 2 years and might have been chased out of Wrench's garage for questioning fixing up old stuff when something better could be made.

And Starro Pizza sounds like a good intersection of meeting.

Re: OOC

Full size jet is even more impressive. I expect her grandparents called her in to the living room or turned up the television specifically to tell her about it.  They might even have videotaped it. So you might even be an idol to her. Until she actually meets the genius in person of course.

My own (RL) parents used to do the same anytime there was news about any birds of prey.

Sorry about that, but hope you'll enjoy the start even if it doesn't begin till tomorrow.

Re: OOC

Hey guys, started posting. Wanted to give you all something to build off of, but am having red be the first turn just to start off the story. Hope you enjoy!

Edit: I changed it, I decided that the turns are more necessary when the action begins. You guys can start in any order and I'll start the turns when combat happens.

Is anyone having trouble with starting or want a different opening scenerio for their character's civilian life? Or have you guys been busy in real life?

Re: OOC

@Heikisho: Not a problem. Hope you enjoy the game now.

@Aegis: No problem, oh how was the flight? Was it long? Hope it is good wherever you headed.

@Wrench: No not usually, but the turns haven't started yet in the beginning of the game. You can start in whatever order at the moment.

By the way guys, and I'll take all of you into account do you guys want to get the "Star Defender" part of your names taken out of your handle? Do you guys think that would look better?

In reply to The Narrator (msg # 33):

I'd honestly prefer our character's real name/role. For example Shubham/Aegis for me or vice versa.

EDIT: Flight was good, went from India to the UK. Lots of delays at the airport when I landed though, difficult getting my bags and finding a taxi.

Re: OOC

@Aegis: I'll keep that in mind. I mostly did the "Star Defender" names so it could fit a Metal Hero format like "Space Sheriff Gavan" or "Choujinki Metalder" but in English with a whole team it might look a little awkward unless you are just talking about the team.

@Wrench: Are you having trouble getting started? Are you busy or would you like me to post again before you start?

Re: OOC

Hey guys. How is everybody doing? It looks like we might be having trouble coming together or with the posting rate. I know everybody has lives and jobs and the like, so I was wondering if you guys would want to meet up over text or audio on Discord or something like that instead of our current setup? Maybe meet up and play this game over there for an hour or two a week on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon sometime?

Let me know what you guys think. I want to hear from everyone before I decide if we want to make a change like that.

Re: OOC

Sorry for delay last week turned into a week from hell for me.  Ive often seen on rpol that games die due to players just disappearing, it happens all the time.  Looking on out cast page its been days to a week since the others have been on.  Maybe we find out who is really interesting and possibly search for other players?   For me I do play by post games as I do not have the time to meet online and play for a set bit of time like that.  If that is what you need to go to I understand and I will be the one who will need to bow out, and if that is the case there are no hard feelings it is what it is.

Re: OOC

@Heikisho: Understandable, I'll see who is interested. I have put up a live game I may be interested in playing. Putting it up for everyone. If you don't want to join or want a play by post we can consider playing something else to or discuss posting with everyone.

https://app.roll20.net/lfg/lis...tar-defenders-enigma

Are you guys still interested in the game in this format? Or would anyone else here be interested in participating in a live game? You guys are good players, but we seem to be facing quite a drought and aren't able to post around the same time.

Re: OOC

I work 5 10 hour days a week, so I kinda need to find time before or after work to play.  If it is going to a set time schedule, I kinda think that I would have to drop out for reasons of real life concerns now.  I enjoyed the set up, just seems that life is making it a bit hard right now.  Sorry.

No problem.  That does not have to be day and time though. It looks like I'm going to be working 3-9 most days for the forseeable future,(at least till graduation) so I could change it to later or earlier 1-2 day(s) a week I think.

Re: OOC

If anyone is interested my Roll20 game needs a replacement player for our Weapon;s Master now. We need someone to fire the weapons on the in game ship and mostly get the equipment and strength powers. If any of my former players here are up for it you can apply at Roll20.
