I think that depends.  Do we already have our powers?  I could see it going one of 2 very different ways.  1 we already know each other and gain our powers at the same time.  Or 2 we already have our powers and we meet at a battle sense or something.  Honestly I am good with whatever everyone wants to do.  Those are just my 2 ideas right off.

Nah, you start off not having powers. But if you know eachother or if you don't you guys are going to get powers at or around the same time because of the circumstances of the initial fight.

I'm glad you guys got a good handle on your characters at the moment. Good news too, we may have a Captain coming into the game soon. Also if you guys want you are welcome to start the pregame roleplay, it doesn't have to be canon when the episode starts but if you like you can start playing in that thread with your characters before they get their powers.

Also off topic of this game, but what was your guys first expirience with a Toku series? Mine was when a girl we knew as a small child brought over a VHS of some Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episodes to our birthday party and a couple of the kids watched them, I was hooked. Also wore out a Tape of VR Troopers we had. You guys?

First series of MMPR when it aired on ITV and I followed through to the middle of the Lord Zed era. Each time a new one was introduced, I usually started to watch it, but then didn't quite understand what was going on, because commitments usually meant I had to start series'halfway through.

I watched some of Masked Rider, Some VR Troopers, some of Beetleborgs etc.. The Americanised versions.

^Yeah, I watched a lot of those same shows when I was younger. I didn't get to see the Lord Zedd era till we got blank tapes that could record on our home VCR but it was a lot of fun when we could.

We have our Captain now! Everyone please welcome Star Defender Aegis to the game!

Hi everyone, thanks for having me! Hope I can help the team best I can!

As for first experience with Toku, I grew up with the original MMPR series. Loved it a lot, and got back into the franchise with Hyperforce when that came out a few years ago, got me into the Power Rangers RP scene. Was even in a (now sadly discontinued) power rangers fan rpg podcast.

Still haven't seen any Metal Heroes (except for Beetleborgs but not sure if you count that) or Kamen Rider. Need to find a place to start with those series.

My first toku experience was with MMPR the first episode I saw was when Kimberly had to defeat a frog monster that ate the other rangers.  And I was hooked.  I've seen every episode of PR since except the current season Dino Fury I just haven't caught it.   All of the 90s us shows big bad beetleborgs,  superhuman samurai cyber squad, etc.   I've seen almost every season of Super Sentai. And every season of Kamen Rider. I also have alot of the ongoing Power Ranger comic run.   I kinda like Toku.       Glad to have you here Aegis!

Woah, good expirience Heikisho and Aegis. I haven't seen Hyperforce yet but it sounds cool!

Please welcome your pilot, Overdrive to the team! We are ready to start! I'm still looking for a CO-GM so I'm gonna leave that open, but otherwise we have a whole roster.

When is everyone generally avalible? It'll be play-by-post just want a general idea of times for when you think you'll be posting. I'm on USA EST and I mostly post on days besides Saturday and Sunday for personal reasons, (I'm travelling on Sunday, and Saturday is usually a free day to spend with people IRL).

Bonjour team. I look forwards to saving the day with all of you. I got started with MMPR when it first came out, even remember seeing the movie in theater, and staying up to watch the late night Lord Zed and Zeo episode. Followed many of the series, though missed mystic force, and the more recent ones. I remember watching Beetle Borg's, VR Troopers, and enjoyed many of the different mediums for the genre

Time wise, I'm in Central Time, and either in the morning or late night for my normal posting time.

Also thanks for the welcome Heikisho and Wrench! Bonjour to Overdrive too!

Should we start thinking about character relationships? Whether our characters knew each other before college, or during college, or did we only meet when we became Star Defenders?

My character has no declared major, so can be in anyone's class basically. He might have a connection to Jessica, since he did serve in the military and has a friend who told him to attend this school. It's possible they might be a mutual friend, or maybe a friend of Jessica's family. We might start off antagonistic, if Jessica isn't fond of military people in general, up to you.

Maybe Abigail and Jean-Paul are friends because of their fondness for fixing up vehicles/using spare parts?

Determining connections sounds a good plan. My first thought is since Jean-Paul tends towards bodging things together, making things work, and with little regard for how things were or were supposed to be that he might be on the wrong philosophic end of repair and building than Abigail and foster some animosity between them.

Also, I had the thought to play Jean-Paul as a bit of a flirt and figured I'd ask if any of you do not consent to that being included.

As for other connections, I can't think of anything that stands out as obvious. Shared Gen Ed classes is one option, otherwise just running across each other on campus. Not sure.

I consent to being flirted with, but no guarantee Shubham will reciprocate ;)

We could go traditional route and have a favorite hangout. A diner like Archie Comics, or a Juice Bar like Power Rangers. Maybe a bowling alley could be a fun hangout: Star Strike Bowling! Lots to do in a bowling alley, usually arcade games and snooker can be played there, while being a chance for us to be on a team-or on opposing teams.

EDIT: Just saw Starro's Pizza in the RTJ, that can work nicely as a hangout.

Re: OOC

Basically it depends on how "new in town" everyone is. If everyone has only been there to attend the college then she is unlikely to  have met them considering the age gap. She might have met overdrive if he came into the garage looking to buy parts. But she may have heard of him due to him having built a microlite from scratch. Something like that is newspaper worthy!

This was made about 8 years ago. And not exactly a microlite, in my head something closer to a moonshine powered jet was made. It got up, got close to Mach 1 before materials started failing and he took a bath in the Gulf of Mexico. But I can tune that down to fit with the aesthetic of the game. Kinda like a less ambitious version of The Astronaut Farmer.

He's maybe been in town 2 years and might have been chased out of Wrench's garage for questioning fixing up old stuff when something better could be made.

And Starro Pizza sounds like a good intersection of meeting.

Full size jet is even more impressive. I expect her grandparents called her in to the living room or turned up the television specifically to tell her about it.  They might even have videotaped it. So you might even be an idol to her. Until she actually meets the genius in person of course.

My own (RL) parents used to do the same anytime there was news about any birds of prey.

@Aegis: I'll keep that in mind. I mostly did the "Star Defender" names so it could fit a Metal Hero format like "Space Sheriff Gavan" or "Choujinki Metalder" but in English with a whole team it might look a little awkward unless you are just talking about the team.

Maybe meet up and play this game over there for an hour or two a week on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon sometime?

Sorry for delay last week turned into a week from hell for me.  Ive often seen on rpol that games die due to players just disappearing, it happens all the time.  Looking on out cast page its been days to a week since the others have been on.  Maybe we find out who is really interesting and possibly search for other players?   For me I do play by post games as I do not have the time to meet online and play for a set bit of time like that.  If that is what you need to go to I understand and I will be the one who will need to bow out, and if that is the case there are no hard feelings it is what it is.
