Okay!
We have a neat little group, but you've all been working with me individually. Time to meet each other. As of now, we have:
- Dame Tiegen Chanice, a human bard (aiming for the College of Lore), with a little touch of the Feywild in her history.
- Hannah Demsersk, a human paladin,
- HuMu Ninn, a kenku wizard (aiming for the Order of Scribes), and
- Shera Draxalia, a human warlock (aiming for the Pact of the Tome),
Obviously, I have a very bookish group on my hands. :) This gives us a lot of places to tie in the histories together, so it's not so much a random group of strangers meeting in a tavern somewhere...
We're at four players right now, which I think is a good starting number, so it's time to start working on histories. I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to try an experiment of sorts.
I'm going to be setting up History threads for each of you. I'll prompt you with questions about your character's history, and you can answer them (hopefully in a short story format). I'm leaving them open, so that as you read through each other's you might see areas in which you might have previously interacted. If you don't see one, or it doesn't happen organically, I do have a few tools I can use to help you all out.
For those are familiar: yes, this will resemble the heroic chronicle set out in
Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, starting on page 191. I found that toolkit to be excellent help when it comes to creating deep characters that I can really crawl into their skin, but it is focused on the
individual. A few years back I backed a kickstarter project called backstory cards, which is useful for creating shared story elements between two or more characters, so I'm going for a blend of the two toolkits.
