Re: Game Planning Thread

We could do something like that, sure. How about we skip ahead to the evening meal in The Commons thread? We can do a bit of debriefing and general roleplay. Then people can split off if they want to do smaller threads, and/or people can skip ahead to doing a new mission. I can get something posted tomorrow if that sounds good to people.

And speaking of future missions, one idea I had for how to handle thread ideas going forward is to create a sort of "Job Board" thread where people can pick from a list of thread ideas, or post thread ideas of their own. The threads do not have to be actual missions though. They can be casual thread ideas like "chatting by the fire," of "studying in the library" type threads too. Then a few people can select one that catches their interest and run with it, with or without GM oversight. I do not expect everyone to participate in every mission like we did for this first one. Likewise, I expect many threads will be completed without any GM involvement too.

Does the Job Board thread sound like it would be useful? I can post a first draft of the idea and we can tweak it as needed.

Re: Game Planning Thread

I would be happy to run a mission scenario now and then for those who wanted to sign up. I will give it some thought. :D

And skip ahead to the evening also works for me!

Re: Game Planning Thread

Started the thread in The Commons. Despite what Nana said, PC participation is not mandatory. But I am thinking the thread would be a good spot to potentially hash out some of the team dynamics going forward. Or to generally talk about some of the cool and/or horrific things the team just went through together.

Re: Game Planning Thread

I neglected to read that the meal was happening that evening before I made my post, and erroneously assumed a day or had passed ^_^' I went ahead and made a minor edit to my post, but nothing changed except a slight bit of tense concerning making her origami birds

If anyone has any questions about or suggestions for improvement for the Jobs Board thread, don't hesitate to share them!

Re: Game Planning Thread

It looks good to me :) How do we decide what to do next, discussing it in the IC or OOC or what? Not sure if there's going to be, say, a timeskip to us moving on to discussing the next job, or if we're in an OOC planning phase.

Hm.  I do like doing IC stuff with these characters; I'm open to the notion of doing a side-scene or two, too.

Re: Game Planning Thread

I am all for side scenes!

The missions that most appeal to me are:

Search for Badger
Alien Arrival
A Mystery Afoot!
The Fey Trickster
The Bodyguards
Amazonian Elves
Henry Bogswaller

Don't get me wrong, I really like ALL of them, and am happy to do them too! But these were the onces that leapt out immediately to grab my attention.

Deciding on the next mission can be done IC, OOC, or anywhere in between. Whatever makes most sense at the time. I wasn't planning on discussing the next mission during the current scene, since my plan was to have enough time pass for some team bonding and/or training to take place between the first mission and the second mission. My plans are malleable though, if people prefer something different.

Also note, the missions listed don't need to have full group participation. If a couple people want to do one mission and a couple people want to do a different one, that is perfectly okay. In fact, I think splitting the group would make it easier for me to make sure there are meaningful things for each character to do. Even solo missions are allowed (although then you would only be roleplaying with NPCs).

Lastly, people can feel free to split off from the current scene whenever you feel it fits. Your PCs are welcome to interact with each other in any of the threads without needing to wait for my permission. Just make sure you try to add a note both when you leave a thread and when you enter a new one, so as to let readers know where you are headed and where you came from. Especially when no major time skip happens between the threads you are transitioning between. If anyone would like to roleplay in a location not currently available, I can make new threads too.

Hm.  I particularly like Amazonian Elves, Bodyguards and Alien Arrival, but Badger... yes, I'm quite curious as to what became of Badger.

Re: Game Planning Thread

Alpha is probably best suited for the Alien Arrival, as he can go meet them out in space before they make orbit.

Re: Game Planning Thread

Deep Dweller would be right up Sea Witch's alley, though it might be a funny twist if her family was there investigating first and they turned out to be the ones to menace the rest of the team ;)

Amelia would probably be interested in following up on Badger, given their shared history

Re: Game Planning Thread

I don't have any fantastic excuses for myself. I have just been a bit burnt out lately, making my motivation take a nose dive. No need to wait on me to keep roleplaying though! Feel free to start any scenes between your characters that you would like to.

Have people put any more thought in what they would like the next mission to entail?

Re: Game Planning Thread

I am here. But, no punches pulled here... I am not doing well, at all.

I am stilla waiting a date to start my new pain therapy (IV lidocaine infusions) and it could be some time before that happens. Also, a whole raft of symptoms have flared up. All of them are the same secondary symptoms I had when I was first diagnosed with cancer. Some of them are pretty extreme. I am seeing my doctor at the end of the month and will hopefully get another referal as an emergency back to oncology. But right now, I am physically struggling, and my mental and emotional state is a total train wreck. So I am really finding it hard to RPoL, my creativity and spoons are mostly absent!
