Recent History: setting, geography, politics and technology

Montreal by Night is a Vampire the Masquerade game using Powered by the Apocalypse / Powered by the Dark (https://www.patreon.com/file?h=19652185&i=2328631).

I use blackbox, that is to say, I make all the dice rolls, to keep the flow of the game from getting bogged down with mechanics.

This game is placed in mature section as some game material may be considered offensive. The Vampire setting encourages characters to tackle the inner struggle between humanity and the beast. Naturally mature themes, strong language, drug use, violence are permissible.  Romantic encounters are welcome but overtly sexual scenes will fade to black.  In addition to being tasteless, graphic violence is not permitted.

Recent History: setting, geography, politics and technology

At night Montreal is a city at war. Divided between the Camarilla and the Sabbat, both factions vie for control.

Montreal had long been a Sabbat stronghold when an influx of Haitian refugees in the early 1970s brought a cult of Settites that threw the city's Sabbat Archbishop into the sun and established their own rule. That rule came to an abrupt and unsettling end just two short years ago when the Settite ranks were decimated by some unexplained plague.

In the sudden vacuum, both the Camarilla and the Sabbat established a new foothold in the City of Black Miracles. To this night, neither has established firm control and the battle lines are drawn at sunset...

Geography and Politics

The downtown core on Montreal Island, old Montreal, the port of Montreal and the affluent Beaconsfield and Westmount fall under control of the Camarilla Prince.

The Sabbat Archbishop rules the mainland that rings the island, from Laval in the north across the eastern tip of the island in Montreal Est and the southern shore of Longueuil.

Outside the urban landscape is the territory of the wolves. The scattered foothills of the Laurentides, natural woodlands and rural landscape provides ample open spaces where Kindred fear to tread. Children of the night must avoid the indigenous tribal lands near Kahnawake in particular.
