Yes, it's good. I'm looking forward to see where the stories go. I've already been pleasantly surprised. It's also good to get a glimpse into Glitch's Homeworld

Well it's not her homeland but it's where she called home.... she's from world of darkness earth.... she ended up in the mess and settled down there and it became her home. Wasn't sure what to give him but he may find some use in some Imilexene.

Re: OOC

One of the quirks of being a Verser is that there's always a way to pick up any skill you see, even if the normal rules of the original universe don't allow it.

Stella: I'm reluctant to give you a body, I don't mind detaching you from my helmet. But I really don't want to turn it into a group play where I'm asking you to do things, and I can't imagine that I wouldn't.

Oh just planed to hang out as an item or attached to an item most the time, but would be able to help out in more ways as a self entity kinda clinging onto your scriff....  being able to make a body is a bonus....  mostly planed to use it just to be a little rabbit in your pocket most the time anyway XD

Yeah, just remember that I like Jack's adventures to be his adventures, I specifically wanted a solo game when the Writer popped up. So advice is good, cute bunny is good, jumping in with your abilities is not. :)

The weird timeloop show? Yeah, it was alright.

This really reminds me of Jump Chains. I've actually been meaning to ask if @Writer ever read any of them.

Re: OOC

It's got quite a few rules but it's basically a codified version of being a Verser. https://forums.spacebattles.co...ad-10.949990/reader/

Every time you jump to a new world you get 1000 character points to spend on abilities, skills, etc.

These abilities range from simple stuff like:
[*] "Marine Combat Training (100 cp)" --the basic skills of a combat trained Marine!
[*] (Totally made up by me) "The Power of Grayskull (300 cp)" --the power to turn into a super powered muscular beefcake version of yourself!

And a ton of other stuff, always based on the reality that you're visiting in the next Jump. So like here's a Jumpchain document that tells you the costs and the builds people can import with into a Mass Effect universe: https://drive.google.com/file/...CuSWiaUkjcQJSZK/view

There are a ton of worlds already written up.

You can, like a verser, still collect 'stuff' and learn skills. But .. you can also "start" a new Jump with a whole new life beforehand. So like, I could "Jump" into Mass Effect as a 500 year old Krogan warrior, and have 500 years of memories suddenly pour into my head before I actually start my Jump.

The chain ends when you die. Jumps individually usually end after ten years, or after a victory condition.

Uh.. what else..

There's more to it, you can ask if you are curious, or read that top link. There's tons there to absorb.

Re: OOC

Anyway, there are some longer stories out there that people wrote from the perspective of a Jumper. Both shorter synopsis type stories that just write a few pages for each 10+ year period with their choices of how they leveled, and progressively, how they change the worlds they end up in. Eventually, like versers, they end up stupidly powerful. But I do like the thematic choices people make and then the fact that they can take drawbacks to get more points to spend.

Not sure how well it'd work for an RPOL thing, but could be interesting.

Re: OOC

Jack, I really want to look more into the Jumper thing. Sounds like the kind of system that really could work well with this kind of game.

By the way, this game is based on the concept behind the RPG called Multiverser by Joseph Young. If you like the game idea and want to try the actual rules instead of my home-brewed system, here's a link to another game in rpol where the rules are followed more directly: link to another game

It's one possible future, but not the only possible future. I'm hoping for something different, but I'm fairly certain we're about to enter famine and world war in the next 4-6 years. In all sincerity, though, fun times!

Re: OOC

Yeah, the problem with it is that it's a "game/writing exercise" that was developed over, from what I can tell as a guy showing up 6 years late to the party, several years by quite a few people. The attempts to centralize things are "okay" but not great. But for instance, you like world of darkness. I'll google: 'world of darkness jumpchain doc'

https://drive.google.com/file/...dpQtJkmdpcNEcn6/view

That's the doc I get for WoD games. There are also several others people have come up with. But like you said, it's a bit 'rough draft' and always a WIP, mostly because it's being done by amateurs.

I think in the case that someone was using jumpchains for a roleplaying game (which people apparently do on spacebattles) in my opinion, a "gm" should be double proofing every jumpchain doc that they use, and probably taking suggestions for point balancing/fixes. (Though it's point balancing within the frame of that world, not within the frame of jumpchains.)

Of note, I looked through that doc, I was not inspired. But I really just meant to demonstrate how I usually find the jumpchain docs I'm looking for.

Ah, here's a good bunch on a google drive.

Re: OOC

Out of Context is a thing in jumpchains, as in, if that world doesn't have that brand of reality warping based on Awakening, it might just not let you use that power.

.. but really, it's meant, like many creative writing games, to be fun, not balanced. You shouldn't really have a character taking broken powers until later, so that they still have fun with settings, in my opinion.

Re: OOC

Well yah even the smallest amount of awakened power is kinda broken.  Especially entropy/fate (depending the system your using) magic.

That would work in context in most places too as your just changing probability in most cases. But yah basically being like I'm scarlet witch bitch on some people on the universes where you can unleash some stupid level of probability alteration is scary.

There would be some things I would just not allow in early jumps or I would avoid popping them into such universes with such possibilities.

Re: OOC

I had a thought and I did want to say that becoming a God/joining with a divinity/gaining godlike powers is usually a chain ending result, and the benefactors/ROB in charge will usually have you end your chain at that point and let you off the train, so to speak.

Also, it is not 'in context' in most places. The default of any setting is built from is Our Reality, and Our Reality does not have the ability to warp reality. So unless a setting explicitly has some version of it, you'd need fiat-backed Perks to be able to use something like Awakened Magic, and it probably had a built in drawback, or should, that makes you give yourself Paradigm issues, or somesuch.
