Jack 1.0

Kensai:
As a young talented wizard in his teens, Jack has been attending the Osguld School of the Arcane Arts in the capital of his homeland, Wysteria. Giving up his life as the son of a local weather-master, he had traveled to the school and was accepted with very little in the way of hiccups due to his natural talent and capacity.

Every day begins dawn with a brief trip into the enchanted shower in the shared dormitory, he usually only needs to wait a few minutes as everyone is in a hurry. He quickly washes and then heads to breakfast where he almost always has eggs and toast.

After that is a series of classes in various arcane fundamentals, spell casting and even a class in combat casting which is mostly just dueling with a partner in a controlled environment to prevent death.

Lunch is whatever is served after his combat casting class, as he's usually quite tired and needs the energy to keep going.

After lunch is a period of self-study where he clears up any private-study/homework required by the instructors in the earlier periods, and initial bits of work are done on the larger projects.

Evening class is for his focused studies as a oombat mage, focusing on his ability to throw around lightning, hand to hand combat if they get too close, and the work necessary to become a Mage Knight.

Once again, he retires for a small touch of self-study in the library before spending a small amount of time socializing.

Jack has an ordinary day, right up until a bookcase in the library unfolds without dropping any books, to reveal a curious 6 foot diameter hollow sphere sparkling oddly. A small figure appears as if in the distance within the sphere and seems to accelerate to alarming speeds toward Jack. She crosses the boundary of the distorted sphere, and steadies herself. She lifts her helmet and from the face of beauty says, "Come, Jack! Quick! You're needed with us!"

Jack 1.0

Jack, accustomed to all manner of tom-foolery and illusions used to prank amongst the students just glances up at the bizarrely dressed woman and lets out a guffaw. "Nice one guys, but she's too pretty and where did you get the idea for that outfit? Is she supposed to be some manner of knight?" he asks, looking around for where the spell might be being cast from.

Lifting a hand, he conjures forth a detection spell. Causing lines of energy to spin around his fingers and trace up his arms as he assesses the area for magic.

Jack senses tremendous levels of magic coursing through the vapor which is causing the sparkles around the sphere. The vapor-magic seems to flow through the woman, out along the meridian lines through her fingertips, intensifying around a bracelet at her wrist. The vapor-magic flows from her fingers to the sphere. The sphere shines like a magic filled star from Jack's detection spell.

"We don't have time for this, Jack! People are in trouble! Do as I say!"

Her words vibrate powerfully and from the tail-end of the detection spell, Jack catches a glimpse of magic embued into the words, so he isn't surprised when he feels a sudden urge to follow her.

Pushing his hands through his hair as he considers the constructs involved in the magical portal that seems to have been formed, it doesn’t take him that long to realize that the woman is a real person and that the portal is in fact a high level bit of magic. Impressive. She even knows his name, and had pinpointed his location. He doesn’t think he can do any of that, and so he’s fairly certain she is outside his ability to fight. Leaving two choices.

Run away or go with her.

He gets the impression that he can trust her, though the use of the mind-targeting magic is a bit suspicious and not exactly the sort of thing someone does to build trust. But it also fits with the urgency of her voice, he might have done the same if he were in some dire situation and a random person wasn’t doing what he asked.

Rising to his feet, he grabs his jacket and school bag and follows her into the portal.

“I don’t know what kingdom you’re from, but that is quite the helmet.”

"Thanks!" She grins. Then, biting her lip, she closes the portal behind them.

Jack and the woman are floating in zero-gravity. She shakes her head, handing Jack the helmet. "Here, you might as well have this. You're nothing like our Jack. But you'll have to do." Ominously, Jack senses magic building up in the area around the woman.

"I didn't want to do this, but he left me no choice. This is the only way I can get to him. The only way to make him suffer like I do," she snarls those words venomously, "You're about to die, but there's a catch."

Jack takes the helmet from her and tries it on, because it looks interesting to him, and though he expects it to fit to the woman’s head, he still sort of wants to try it on. He’s young after all. When he feels the magi starting to build up, he doesn’t think too much of it at first. “Your Jack?” he asks and is in the process of starting a new branch of conversation when she says that he is about to die.

When he hears that, he immediately starts constructing defensive magic around him. Piling it up and preparing a counter-attack. Not about to be snuffed out by this succubus.

Clearly this was some sort of trap to begin with!

Simply watching as Jack prepares defensive magic, she continues to exegete the plot device, "You won't be so lucky as to stay dead, unlike me.

"This portal bubble is in the void between your universe and my own. When I cease powering the spell, this bubble will pop, instantaneously saturating you with Magus particles and void-stuff.

From then on, whenever you die, you'll find yourself alive in a different universe. No guarantees you'll be able to survive there. You'll get to keep most of your stuff.

I know all of this, because the man who murdered nearly half of the people in my universe is named Jack, the immortal King, and he looks, sounds and even feels just like you. I was one of his wives. After your first death, the last part of my spell will pull you into my universe. You're on your own, now. Make your life count, you only have one life to live." She winks, then she winks out, immediately followed by the bubble's edge as it shrinks at the speed of light, imploding everything within into the quiet chaos of the void. Jack's nerve cells didn't even have time to inform him of their pressurized demise before his brain was gone too.
