Glitch 1.1

Glitch wakes up to the sound of rats saying, "The god!" "It lives!" and various other things whispered in awe. She opens her eyes and sees brown rats with 6 limbs and opposable thumbs who are the size of dogs staring at her. She is in a deep valley with unbelievably tall mountain ranges boardering a long thin Valley which curves up in the distance - she's on the inner curve of a ring-world. The stratospherically tall mountains rim the ring on either side - likely as a barrier to keep the atmosphere from escaping over the edge.

One of the first things she notices is that her spiritual connections and everything spiritual seems distant and nearly inaccessible. Only the Blood still calls clearly.

In the distance, a giant black Crow with a white feather in one of its 4 legs is flying toward the gathering of Ratfolk.

Glitch 1.1

She groaned, the weaver was suffocating here... the walls she erected where so thick she almost felt separated from herself. She doughted the tricks she pulled in the last world would work here, her gifts would only work as she learned them, she was sure. She wasn't even sure if she could jurry rig like this.....  She made a sour face at it. She looked at the nature and the animals and was happy to least see some wyld and wondered if the forms where birthed from chaos or different laws of the weaver.... however she didn't need her senses to tell her this wyld was caged by the weaver the sky itself told her that much.  The wyld did not make mountains into neat little walls in the perfect place to keep atmosphere in.... and coming to a stop at two perfect circles?  It looked like some one took an inner planet it chopped a segment out of it then surred up walls of stone.

She looked to the rat as she rose. "We are no god...we serve Rat. This is a woven world It should be unwoven!! Is that really our place? There are other ways to find balance She is right the Wyld can claim this world and restore balance... We would have to weaken the weavers hold, thin part of the wall between the spirit world..... Tell us where are we?"

For now she ignored the Crow... the Crow where 'allies' to the rat, it was because of them any of there kind survived the war. Crow warned them of the ambush and about the war, to late to save the storytellers but enough to save there kind.  Though how much could you really trust a crow? They never shut up, so you couldn't trust them with anything.... and who really knows if helping rats was there intention or if they just couldn't keep the secret. >.>

Glitch 1.1

One of the six legged Ratfolk replies, "But you were not here, then you were. Just like the gods, you appeared. And you are a god in our appearance. We hope, therefore, that you are a good god, and not an evil god."

One of the others warns, "A crow comes!"

They begin to scatter for shelter, just when a bright beam of white light surges from the large white feather in the crows claw. Every Ratfolk that was caught in the beam of light, including Glitch, begins to suffer an extreme agony. The crow lands on the top of a nearby tree, and the light from the feather stops. The crow speaks through the feather, and says, "Rats! You know it is forbidden for you to gather during sky bright hours. This is your fourth incursion. Tonight you will receive no heat."

A mother Ratfolk named Anna cries out, "My pups!"

The crow turns it's head to Anna, "Fine, no heat for the next week. Now SCATTER!"

The 4 legged crow with wings takes off from the branch, sending a beam of light randomly around to each of the Ratfolk within its view including Glitch from time to time. Every time the beam of light falls on one of the Ratfolk, they fall down and agony for a few seconds. And the crow vanishes in a flash of light.

The Ratfolk scatter, a few hiding in a certain home in the ground, the rest scavenging for food.

Glitch 1.1

She skitters up the highest point she can find trying to get a view of the surroundings and to see if she can find where the crow disappeared to.... if it might have gone some where in sight. Then moved down to follow the rats. "How dose this crow steal your heat and why? Why do they scatter you in the day?"

Glitch 1.1

Glitch saw no indication of where the crow flew.

She checks her abilities, and anything spiritual or magical is REALLY hard, though with enough buffs like complicated step by step often repeated rituals combined with special objects and special words, who knows what could happen. Fortunately Slotter told her about that little trick to make magics easier. ((I'll explain more of you need it, but bonus points if you just go ahead and try it))

Anything Somatic, Mental, Physical or Psychic is fairly normal.

She can shape shift to and from her normal shapes, and her clothes and gear tied to her will shift with her. No nudity needed.

She can access her things in the toolbelt, but they are hard to find and take extra time to retrieve.

Any skill unmarked with one of the categories is probably possible though it might be tougher.

quote:
"How dose this crow steal your heat and why? Why do they scatter you in the day?"

Glitch is talking with Bites Wood. She responds to the first question by pointing up. Just about then, streams of white light flow from the source of light toward the mountains, and the source of light directly overhead goes dark. The points where the light was drawn towards shine brightly, but not enough to warm up the ground. Within seconds, the air chills and the ground cools with it.

To the second question, Bites says, "Who knows why the gods do as they do. Who are we to question them?"

Within about 15 minutes, snow starts falling, and soon after that it's too cold to snow. Glitch can hear Anna and her pups crying... weakly.

Glitch 1.1

Quickly dose what she can to close up the entrance to the outside.... then gathers up what she needs into shelter to start a fire, using a small amount of her electricity to ignight it.... if she has to she will cut fur/hair off herself and others to get some fire going.... anything to get SOME flame for the rats to gather around.

She herself activates the survival gift that will let her endure these temperatures so she can leave the warmth of the flames, to gather flammable material to throw on it and work on reinforcing a rite of cardboard palace.

Pulling pieces of cardboard out of her to act as makeshift totems/fetishes to place along the walls to support the ritual. Using duck tape to ritualisticaly 'seal' the outside away.

The rite of the cardboard palace was a simple rite but even gathering all the rats together it would likely be a larger area than it was meant to be used on  (like a small building/large home at max)..... and the laws of the weaver here where very very very much agents her.  But if she could even get a FRACTION of it's power she could save them from this crule fate. It didn't need to be comfertable and safe here..... just survivable.... and she would work in the brutal cold even if the power that protected her from the exstream cold was not working as it should, she could heal some frost bite, not all of them could. She worked the ritual again and again and again and again until it took. The weaver may not like her magic but it did like ritual, it liked dogma, and it really liked repetition.

The whole time she griped and chittered to herself.... talking about various things most would go over the rats head.... though they might understand she said things that implyed there world may be dying and the crows where detecting what heat was left to places it was needed.... they made (curse-words they wouldn't understand) laws for excuses to take the heat away.

Basicaly as she theorized to herself the power that powered the world was failing and they where flicking the bakers on and off to keep it spinning.

Glitch 1.1

The cardboard palace is built, and with the fire inside, it is quite cozy. The Ratfolk gather to warm themselves inside while Glitch works away. Even though they are gathering in the warmth, they are tentative and frightened, shivering as much from fear as from cold. If asked, they'll just say, "The gods won't like this."

When in a bind, rats will recycle proteins from their fallen comrades. Such is happening with the Ratfolk.

While she's shoring up the Cardboard Palace, one of the bright lights on a nearby mountaintop blinks out, and simultaneously the area around is lit up brightly from above. The flow of light energy being siphoned off of the source of light above stops, and the whole area warms a little as dim light shines on everything from the source of light above. But the bright light is coming from the white feather in a 4 legged crow's claw. The crow caws, "I thought I told you no warmth! Very well, then. You may have warmth for a few minutes."

The feather brightens a moment, and a sudden explosion blasts from below the cardboard palace, sending rock shrapnel into Glitch and the nearby Ratfolk. The cardboard palace erupts in magical Chaos flames as the crow laugh-caws from above. After a few minutes of the palace burning, the crow will draw the chaos energy away from the flames and debris to return the cardboard that remains to its original un-constructed flat and unfolded form, and the tape will return to being a roll of tape.

"That's enough warmth for you lot!"

She TRIES to use backbite to get up on the bird, and sticky paws to take the feather and stab it some where vital with the quill of it.

Failing that she will hit it with her death ray.

She is pissed at this thing.

Glitch 1.1

Glitch puts everything she has into the attack, and it's pathetic, but functional. Instead of slipping into the spiritual dimension, she feels an incredible burst of adrenaline and finds herself jumping ridiculously high - high enough to take the crow by surprise. She deftly snatches the feather from the crow before the crow realizes what has happened, and stabs it in the neck. Her rage flows through the feather and an explosive stream of heat and fire spills out of the quill, launching the crow's head hundreds of yards away. The Ratfolk named Fast Foot runs after the head to retrieve it.

*New skill Chaos Fire*

She and the limp body of the crow land on the midst of the Ratfolk

Gleeful says, "The god is dead! Glitch has brought us fire!"

The Ratfolk rejoice at the news and celebrate. Shaman hushes them, "The other gods will know. They will come for the feather. We must protect The heat and keep it hidden. There is only one way..."

Anna finishes the sentence, "we must all eat it. Please, first heal my babies, god Glitch, Firebringer. The feather will return warmth to their bodies and remove the chaos from their wounds."

She nods trusting this rat. "We would not bring a war to your famely.... though we would take one to them who think to hold life and death over others unjustly." she shares the father with the rats. If there is any bit left she will eat some too if it is untainted.

She also helps then consume the crow.

She looks around for any other signs of civilization besides the towers while outside. She would likely need some weapons and stuff to build with.

Glitch 1.1

The Ratfolk and Glitch all consume a small portion of the Chaos Feather. The first thing they notice is that they feel warmer, and it's no longer too cold for them to survive. Next, a Ratfolk named Shaman of the Source begins chanting, dancing and rattling some bones, circling around some of the debris left over from the palace. After 13 minutes, the debris sparks into a steady flame.

Glitch notices that she can sense intense Chaos around her - the scene of the murder, the space where she killed the crow, the fire, sharp points on trees, her own white fur, and especially the remaining points of light on the tips of the mountains.

There are a few buildings near the mountains - little cottages. It looks like the foundations of much larger buildings remain in places, having left behind squarish impressions in the ground that have been covered over and weathered for hundreds or thousands of years. Nothing but mostly inedible vegetation and wood around here. Most of the trees are dead, too.

Hours go by unhindered, then the flow of Chaos from the Source to the lights (which she has figured out are the other crows), slows and stops, and the crows disappear from their place on top of the mountains to who-knows-where. The light (and supremely intense Chaos) from the Source returns.

Moments later 12 Crows, each with white feathers appear hovering far above. One screeches, "Murderers! Thieves! Who killed our sister?! Who stole the Feather of the Source?! You will suffer for your crime!"

Well this was not going well.

Well she keep using it by accident so she used it intentionally, leap of the kangaroo, the gift that lets her jump many times higher and feather than she should be able to... she leap up and tried to steal another feather while kicking the crows into each other.

Ether way she used BOLT! and ran... ran like hell pumping as much rage as she could as she droped to all fours with the feather in her mouth and sprinting using her skills at dodging and avoiding attacks to flee and try and lead the crows away from the rats, hoping to head to one of the ruins of larger buildings..... maybe there was basements or underground facilities with something that could help her.

Well this was not going well.

And it was just about to get worse. Much worse.

leap of the kangaroo, the gift that lets her jump many times higher and feather than she should be able to

*Roll & advance*

Well, an attempt was made. She did jump 3 times higher than normal, but fell far short of reaching her target - except that she did attract the attention of all 12 black feathered crows who were each carrying a single white feather ((wanted to clarify that)).

quote:
Ether way she used BOLT! and ran... ran like hell pumping as much rage as she could

*Rolls*
She tried. She tried hard. But it just wasn't good enough. Even a very fast rat would find light difficult to outrun.

One of the crows used their Chaos Feather to put Glitch in unbearable agony to immobilize her.
*Roll*
The next used a Chaos Mind Attack against her psyche, but the resistance of an entire colony of rats was just too much for that crow to overcome.

The next pumped non-heat Chaos into the stone Glitch was writhing in agony on, causing it to be reduced to a fine sand. Glitch sank into the sand, up to her knees laying on her back and with her elbows beneath the sand - then the crow reversed the polarity, removing the Chaos from the sand to create sandstone and trapping Glitch in stone so that she was unable to move anything but her fingers and face.

Once immobilized, they turned off the Chaos agony ray and stood around her. She could speak now. Chaos from the feathers went out in lightning strike pattern, following an edge around Glitch about 5' away from her. Then together they teleported her into the ruined basement of some random foundation.

The room had a number of items Glitch may have recognized - a broken teleporter, broken food replicator, broken computer console, broken nannite repair table and various other remnants of post-scarcity Galactic civilization.

Glitch 1.1

She gave herself time to recover regardless of what happened.

She hoped she was abandoned here to die, or they would argue on what to do with her for a long time.

Ether way she shifted into her rat form and shrunk down to free herself crawling out of the stone, and into the computer system to see if it could be repaired.... that and she could hide away inside if they showed back up... pulling the panels back in place like she had simply vanished.

If she could get these machines online it would help her out a lot.

She also took note to see if there was any other people encased in stone down here.
