Fair enough, though I  usually just ignore the bossy players when I feel like it. To be fair, I'm not sure how much of the rush was the player, and how much was the GM wanting to move things along. It all happened so quickly. Hope we can find a happy medium somewhere.

Guilty as charged, but also intending to point out the Dr. Apocalypse didn't leave a lot of time for anyone to react. The entire East Coast is still reeling from the mega-storm, and the heroes just happened to be the most 'rested' heroes close enough to be there at the deadline.

I dislike arguing with GMs, but I need to point out the physical realities of the scenario laid out:

That conversation could have taken from 1 minute to 30 minutes ingame time and have very little effect on whether they would arrive in time to help.

The average nonstop flight time between Tampa and New York is 2 hrs and 50 minutes.

The time frame that Dr Apocalypse left was tomorrow at Noon.  I imagine the video was played by the media as soon as they confirmed that it was real and not a hoax taking advantage of the current crisis. So they probably played the message before 6 pm.  That gives heroes a total of say 12 hours to get to New York, another 4 hours to plan out how they were going to coordinate the defense of New York, last 2 hours would be spent setting up defensive locations.

Anyone on the east coast could have arrived in New York, get a full nights sleep and be a part of any planning before the demonstration was going to happen.

So there was actually plenty of time for the team to talk about what they wanted to do before leaving.

He did say noon but if we wait it doesn’t leave time to get there ahead of any scouting he may have and then find our places. Yes I pushed some, I will do that if it seems clear where to go but we seem to bog down. But this is where we need to be and if we need to figure things out now we have plenty of time to do exactly that.

Yes, there was plenty of time. I wouldn't want to dissuade anyone from continuing to roleplay that discussion in the "Mega-Storm" thread. The fact that a separate timeline beginning at a later date could play out in the other thread isn't an issue for me.

Uh, not really. Initiative is a d10 added to Agility score.

The bad guys have taken their first action on phase 28, any actions you wish to take prior to phase 13 can be taken.
