Empress surveys the sinking mech from a safe distance, keeping a portal open in case she needs to flee an explosion.

"Hello Rockstar?  Can you hear me?"

Not making any rolls for spotting them, but can you check if she sees anyone?

Re: Times Square, New York City

"You, uh, still need help?" An improbable hero-type approached Agent 9 and nodded his head in greeting. He was unshaven, with scruffy blond hair and wore the obligatory and mysterious black mask covering his eyes. Unfortunately he wore a red and black skintight supersuit which worked hard at keeping his midriff where it was expected to be.

"Seems I missed the action. Trains were delayed. Obviously, I suppose all things considered. But predictable I guess anyways. So I guess I should introduce myself." He adopted a most likely heroic stance and declared his presence. "I am Still Standing!"

Re: Times Square, New York City

Darkling was a young woman who appeared to be an African-American girl with her hair shaved at the sides and leaving only a mohican style line of hair in the middle, maybe three inches wide.  She looked vaguely familiar.

She was clearly too busy with cleanup to introduce herself.  When in place she could have been a nurse or a scene of crime officer although probably a cadet.  She was careful but not, apparently, especially skilled.  What was unusual was the speed with which she moved from place to place.

She moved on roller skates but at incredible speed.  If she were driving or riding  motorbike, she'd likely get pulled over for speeding.

Agent 9 eyeballs the newly presented superhero and the non flattering apparel. “Mr. Standing, not everyone can find a train running into a disaster area so kudos to you. The current excitement seems over but stick around I’m sure it’s not over just yet. “ He watches the other new arrival glide by without turning his head but nods toward her “a friend of yours? “ he asks Still Standing.

"Oh hello. I'm called Still Standing. And um this here is," he indicated Agent 9, "well actually I don't know, but I am thinking he has a plan for what is going on here. I arrived late and missed all the goings on with the big robot."

He smiled at Darkling and appeared somewhat uncomfortable in the current surroundings. "Looks like you are making a difference. Are you a medic?"

A shimmering tele-portal opens nearby, and 4 robot operators walk thru.

Empress shouts through the shimmering tele-portal.
"Hey Agent 9, got a few more robot operators coming thru!!  There's some stuff going on over here, if you want to join?  Found RockStar, too."

Re: Times Square, New York City

The threat of the mech is passed, and the other first responders are cleaning up the damage. Thanks to the efforts of the heroes, Times Square has suffered a minimal amount of damage. Saber 7 has already done most of the repair work that will be needed. Now the heroes will need to regroup and assault the facilities the giant robot came from.
The crew of the mech, thanks to Empress ability to convince them to do so, was very forthcoming with information. They had never actually met or worked directly with Doctor Apocalypse, as they were recruited and trained by The Destroyers, Apocalypse's private group of super-villains. The Destroyers were very careful not to reveal much information about themselves. The only member they ever dealt with directly was a female who called herself The Iron Maiden. She constantly wore a sophisticated suit of powered armor from which she got her name. She was the one who worked with them and trained them to operate the Doomsday Robot. The rest of The Destroyers are made up of four men and one other woman. No additional information about them is known.
The Destroyers' headquarters, where some of the individual crew members received technical training, is made up of the top three floors of the Montuori Trade and Industries Building. It can be reached from the rooftop or via a private elevator in the lobby. The elevator requires a special magnetic card to operate, and the mech crew surrendered two of these passcards.

The improbable hero called Still Standing spoke to whomever was assembled. "So I assume we have to go to the Montuori Building and face the terrorists?" He sighed resignedly.

"I suppose I can help. But does someone have a plan for getting in?"

Empress returns through the tele-portal, accompanied by any heroes that choose to go through.

"Alright, new heroes!  Exciting!  What can YOU guys do?"

She joins the group and powers down her TK defense.

"Maybe we could wear the Mecha operators' outfits and walk right in?"

I figure they will have seen Agent 9 and my face and want to block us from entering.  So you and I and Agent 9 could teleport in...?"

Empress is ready to go now.  "I'm ready to go there now. Any reason to hold off?  Was anyone wounded?  I don't think so...

Might also be good to have radios."

The masked and scruffy looking middle-aged man in black and red lycra raised is hand. "I guess I am ready too. Hello everyone. My name's, well some have called me Still Standing. That's my hero name. On account that I can get hit pretty hard and well, still manage to get up again. Oh and I can throw cars around, but I guess that's pretty standard for you hero types."

He smiled awkwardly, adjusted his mask unnecessarily and adopted what he thought to be a suitable pose. "I am ready to defeat this evil."

So I think we need to hurry. Empress can you teleport into a place you haven’t seen before?”

Re: Times Square, New York City

Empress had lost track of the conversation and was looking off at the horizon, bored.

When her name was mentioned, this seems to rouse her from her daydream.

"Pardon me?  What were you saying?

Oh, can I teleport us inside the villains HQ?

I should be able to, however we might consider that a supervillain might have teleportation countermeasures in place - forcefields, matter warps, energy transformers -- it could be very bad.

Im willing to try and send someone ahead to scout, but we might do better attempting a conventional entry and keeping teleportation as a quick escape if necessary.

But I can teleport us right to the front door, or across the street, and then we could approach?"

To DM (and sharing with everyone else) I haven't seen any specific rules on if she can teleport somewhere she doesn't know and how precise and so on, so I'm winging it.  Seems like mostly focus is on distance, and Empress can do pretty darned far.

If you're fine with Empress teleporting everyone directly into unknown secret lairs, I'm fine with that -- but seems like at least having some very specific information on where might be required?

She teleported a giant mech into the ocean, but the ocean is a big place...

Just a quick reminder:
someone else somewhere:
That headquarters is made up of the top three floors of the Montuori Trade and Industries Building. It can be reached from the rooftop or via a private elevator in the lobby. The elevator requires a special magnetic card to operate. The crew member would be happy to let her use his (the name on the card is Shanley.

So it doesn't have to be hard to find, and could be approached fairly close, to figure out where to teleport to.

Re: Times Square, New York City

"Let's suit up and test out that badge.  Hey Agent 9, where do you get those in-ear Radios?  Sure would be handy."

Empress gathers the uniforms from the former operators, gets a few badges, and says goodbye (and gives out a few hugs & thanks).
When one of her fans likes Empress, they really like her.

When everyone is ready / suited up, she opens a teleport door to just outside (say approximately 1 block away, in an alley, so teleport door doesn't look suspicious) of the villain's HQ building.

She signals the heroes to move through the shimmering teleport door. "Teleporting is a great way to travel!  You can't beat instantaneous!  And I only charge one thousand per person.  Ha Ha!"

Still Standing dressed in the uniforms and nodded when he was ready. "Okay I am ready I guess. Will these guys have guns? Not sure what would happen if I was shot. I think it would be okay. Hopefully I won't find out, but whatever hey. We got hero work to do."

He stepped into the teleport, keeping clear of Kraken. Because the octopus-man kinda freaked him out, and he did his best to stay cool acting as if everything was business-as-usual. Because he was a hero after all.
