Re: OOC

True. But that wouldn't count as a solution for the current party...

A very useful spell, that one!

Re: OOC

Can Brant and Ornwin maneuver their dance partners at all (I.e. to stay out of range of the chandelier?)
Can anyone produce music to counter the orchestra?

Re: OOC

Otis: can you reach the chandelier with your weapon?  It’s either going to drop and kill a Party dancer or it triggers the floor to collapse when it falls - I’m guessing.

Any way to interrupt the musicians or are their instruments non-material?

Re: OOC

Two paintings in this room!  Long short but maybe they can help.

Two of us can still try turning again (next round) and two try speaking to each painting?

Open to other suggestions as well.

I doubt Ornwin has enough conscious control to maneuver his partner. I would suggest rolling for it, but I recall the GM already said we cannot roll to break free of our ghostly control.

Re: OOC

Orwin and Brant can speak; they can't break free of their dance partners.

There is a surefire way to reach the chandelier. If only you had lugged the Halbard into the ball room.

Re: OOC

09:04, Today: Otis rolled 7 using 1d20+1.  Grappling hook
09:05, Today: Otis rolled 19 using 1d20+1.  Grappling hook
09:07, Today: Otis rolled 6,7 using 1d6,1d10.  Minor test 1-4 on d6; Major test 30%.
So first tug wouldn't open a door but seciond tig would bend bars or lift a gate

--A couple notes. Otis, your weapon specialization does not extend to your grappling hook, limiting you to one attempt per round -- not two.
--Since the chandelier is barely attached to its tether, it would require no feat of strength to bring it down, which means you still have the means at your disposal to do so.

Re: OOC

Distances and reachability were unclear to me hence the grappling hook.
I posted for it to take however long you deemed relevant but so that you didn't have to prod for another roll.
Otis will bring it down asap in whatever way seems plausible and sensible and so it doesn't land on anyone.
I'm fine with it if you want to use the #1090 rolls or if you want to reroll it.

Melian, Rasxif, what would like to do before time runs out? You both have excellent options available, depending on what you're attempting to do.

Re: OOC

Yes. But it’s 30’ up.  A missile strike into the chandelier will also likely take it down. I can try next round with my throwing axe - I’ve committed this round to beseeching one of the paintings for help...

DO we know how far off the ground the non-chandelier end of the tether is tethered?

Re: OOC

In reply to Otis (msg # 1096):

Both tether and chandelier are 30' up.

Let's say the tether has AC 8 (like a giant bat) (-3 to hit if you have less than 13 dex).
The chandelier will just have AC 8. To guarantee the timing you want, you'd want to hit the tether.
