Re: OOC

I'm doing the best I can to hang with you Lotti. Please recall, NONE of us wanted to check into the inn in the first place, other than you...

Also, I'm not sure we know the inn is "normal" (I mean, obviously it's not), but the Host made it explicitly clear that it's 100% safe and we have nothing to worry about there. If you need me to go back and find that post I can.

Looks like you're still deciding on your next course of action? Attacking Chester or visiting the mayor? Just let me know and I'll update tomorrow.

Re: OOC

If I read Cass's post correctly, we are all ready to go see the Mayor, subject to your decision on whether Lotti can question (not attack) Chester, and what the outcome of that is.

Re: OOC

And the Host is waiting patiently for us to move along.  To explore the Village.  Meet the Mayor.  Head to the Manor.  The Inn is a dead end.  It’s beat.  Finished.  Of no consequence.  It was a 1 day funhouse extravaganza.  But it’s over.  It’s a dumpy hangout that we can use as a home base if nothing better comes along.  But I was joking when I said Chester & barkeep may be undead but weak undead.  They may be but it’s a moot point.  It’s irrelevant.  The Murder Room was just a clue to try to figure out a movie title for XP - it’s not the basis for taking up arms against the hotel staff.  We were conscripted to explore and clean out The Tegel Manor.  That’s why we are here.  We are not here to kill Chester and Ali from the Barton Fink movie set.

I’ve PM’d Otis.  Not sure what he will do next - but we do not need to sit around the lobby waiting for him. But, if we don’t get to the Manor fairly soon, we will likely lose our Half Orc fighter to another party that is moving along toward exploration and adventure outside of their home base Village more quickly than we seem capable of doing.

Cass has the size of it. Thursday's not an update day anyhow.

If Lotti has some more questions for Chester (or worse), I can field those and move you to the mayor tomorrow.

In reply to The Host (msg # 431):

Cassandra:
Absent any objections from Lotti, the party will gather up all their belongings and will give Lotti sufficient time to question Chester about the Murder Room and also about how one actually summons Chester using his 4251 ext. listed on his card.

I understand if you can't or don't want to deal with this tonight, but I think this is all we're waiting on.

Re: OOC

True.  If Lotti wants to attack Chester, we can all go down that path and see where it leads.  Paladin might object.  Cass might object.  If Chester and Ali are undead, then great, we can all rest comfortably in that decision. We can take them on.  I just hope killing Chester and Ali, if they are alive, doesn’t incur the wrath of their fellow Villagers.

If Lotti wants to ask questions of Chester, great.  We all want the answers to those question and are just waiting for the questions to be asked.  If the answers demand combat, we are here and Otis will likely then join the fray.

Re: OOC

If there was a discussion about attacking Chester, I must have missed it. And if Lotti decides unilaterally to do so, I make no promises.

OK, now I see it. Msg #95 in game. Holy cow that is off the chain! Trevion has already addressed this issue (Msg #82), and his opinion as a paladin is the only one that matters. Unless the Host wants to give a summary answer as to what Chester might offer up about the murder room and his business card, then let's just move on to see the mayor. Please, for the love of Athena, Eir, Hecate, and Mielikki.

Re: OOC

Truth be told, I did find Lotti to be rather erratic but thought she had settled down. Nope. As he put it, he decided to bow out rather than clash with the other strong personalities in this game. I would call that a "self-fulfilling prophecy."

I'll roll a d2 for the two lurkers and add one of them to the game.

Obviously, I chose to have an unconventional start to this campaign. I regret that I didn't work in a bit about "complementary shoeshine" at the Hotel Earle. If you can't wait until we start the more traditional dungeon crawl of the manor proper, please drop this elective class. Please note that I said "more traditional." I do not run traditional games. I go for that "Barton Fink feeling."

Re: OOC

Now that PC Lotti has left, can NPC Lotti carry out her attack on Chester and the rest of us play it out in game? I've never seen someone killed by their own party, but in this case it might be fun and cathartic. :)

I'm mostly kidding.

Alternatively the Host could improvise an accommodating storyline where Lotti was secretly a homicidal maniac who was, ironically, the one responsible for the scene in the murder room, along with a string of other recent killings in the area.

-------

Truthfully, I'm sorry to see her go, but maybe it's for the best. I hope the rest of the current cast will stick around. And I look forward to meeting our newest addition.

Re: OOC

I’m always disheartened to see a fellow player choose to depart.

Though, I will admit that when I signed in to check in on things this morning, I half expected to see the expedition shifting into the direction of Grand Theft Horse: Medieval Edition, with the party planning a door to door murderous rampage through Tegel Village, starting with the staff of The Emperor of Curd.

Re: OOC

Yes!  I was starting to think of Minty Python and Lancelot’s attack on the wedding party.

Crowd: “You killed the bride’s father.”

Lance: “Sorry.  Sorry about that. Just a misunderstanding.”

Minty, of course, is the lesser known cousin of Monty.

Do you mean "Scotch?" It's slang for "forget about or disregard." Or at least I thought it was.

Re: OOC

Brant has replaced Lotti. I trust that he won't wet his knickers during his first encounter.

Here's how we're going to retcon this. Brant has always been with the party -- so he has the same exp as the rest of you. Lotti will be an NPC inhabitant of the Emperor of Curd.

Brant, you're welcome to post in the Tegel Village thread.
