Re: OOC

Cass:
I think while we are all lvl 1, there will be MANY trips back and forth to town to rest 1 week to deal with hitting 0 hp.

If there weren't, we'd be doing OSRIC wrong.

Re: OOC

Let's not be pedantic about this, Otis. If there are any healing spells to be cast before the turn of rest, go ahead and cast them. And I'm not going to list all of other similar activities that might take place before that turn of rest.

You've looked at 6 of the 10 portraits. Did you plan to look at the 7th?

Re: OOC

Cass:
OOC: @Host: the skeleton room would have been examined, at least cursorily, when we retrieved Trevion.  Just need confirmation whether the skeleton room has other exits/doors and that the skeletons were not just trapped in that room after being turned. Thx.

I don't mean to be the pedant in this case, but that needs to be expressly stated in the in-game thread.

As for turned undead, you can almost always dismiss them from your mind.

He was the spirit that animated the chainmail wearing skeleton. He was returning to the foyer with his buddies, seeking revenge for people trying to walk through him.

Yes, Otis is the dog in this case -- staying with the dog riff from the hotstepper post.

Re: OOC

Cass:
OOC: @DM: how many exits/doors are in the Master Foyer?  The map of the Manor provided so far seems to have the main entrance, double doors (?) to the Great Hall, and one (?) side door? The map photo is hard to read.  If there are 3 exits, that changes how we need to block the exits from the Master Foyer. Thx.

It has three known exits: the gates leading to the courtyard, the massive doors leading to the Great Hall, and that hard-to-spot side door.

Yes, the map photo is hard to read. To make things harder, the room descriptions don't identify every exit.

Another reason to indulge in some hand-drawn cartography.

Re: OOC

I imagine you would want Brant to guard one of the exits as well.

Otis is easily the strongest member of the party, and our rules don't help all that much in a situation like this.

Let's say Brant closes the Great Hall doors and stands in front of them to ward Otis off. Otis then attempts to knock Brant aside to get through the doors. That would seem to be a minor test of strength.

Re: OOC

If the doors to outside are open (and the internal dors are closed), then going outside would be the obvious way to get away/escape.

Re: OOC

Maybe. Both gate and the Great Hall doors are open. It will be randomly determined which way Otis goes. He's too panicked to make informed decisions.

Re: OOC

[@Host: see IG msg 99]: Brant already closed and is guarding the heavy double doors to the Great Hall.

The small side door, until now, has not been checked, is still closed, and may or may not have been noticed by Otis.

Ornwin is in charge of the Main Gate entrance/exit to the Courtyard, which to this point is still open.

Got it. I'll roll for his direction and then do a contested minor feat of strength, with the margin determining the winner and draws favoring the party.
