I saw that in a megadungeon that the GM quit.
It didn't look like much fun. You just think "press the speed button: become next morning already."

Ereth and I are quickly gathering small, valuable and easy to carry silver and precious metal items.  Brant’s messing around with the world famous 30 foot long, 200 lb Rump Manor Halberd.

Re: OOC

In response to the Host’s summary of collection of silver and the giant halberd in the Great Hall and Trevion waking up:

(Much of this will be translated for IG, but wanted to post for party input first.)

Unless there are any other actions required by the party, we will head back to town to let Trevion recover.

Recommended actions before we leave:
(1) Otis cast a CLW on himself this will leave the party with 2 remaining CLW spells for emergency use.
(2) we will use our standard double file marching order, but with Cass behind Brant (Cass will save her last CLW for Brant in case we get into trouble on the way back to town).

Modified Double File order for today’s trip back to town:
---- Ornwin ----
Brant --- Trevion
Cass --- Ereth
----- Otis -----

(3) Brant needs to decide what to do with the giant halberd.
(4) @DM: how much time before nightfall, rough estimate?

Thanks!  Should still be able to make the trek back to town in about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Once everyone weighs in, we will head back to town.

Re: OOC

Ereth:
Ereth turns to Cass and says (in a soft voice, but not in a secretive manner), "If Otis and Trevion are able to walk, perhaps we should head on back to town now, in case our pace is slow. We should have enough coin to book another night of lodging, then (hopefully) we can find a place to cash in the loot tomorrow."

You know, a night at The Emperor of Curds might be gratis at this point. While everyone else was getting spooked by animate portraits and visiting with the Great Hall’s skeletal inhabitants, Lotti was probably cleaning house over at the inn, wiping out any trace of the undead from its cottage cheese scented corridors.

Of course, she could have ended her crusade by burning the joint, along with a few neighboring structures, to the ground.

@The Party

If we have to stay 2 nights at 4gp total, at this point does it make sense to book a full week for 10gp?

@Host

Permission to burn the scroll and add it to my spell book?

Re: OOC

(1) finish searching the Foyer and Great Hall - we were a bit rushed last time.
(2) look for secret door directly across from the one known side door in the foyer.
(3) look for other secret doors or trap doors in the floor of the foyer and great hall.
(4) will check out the unopened door in the foyer, any new secret doors and then the 2 secret doors found in the great hall.
(5) were there any other visible doors or exits out of the great hall - we had a skellie picture but no layout map that would show doors or halls off that room.
(6) can we get a map or description of the front of the manor to either side of the Master Foyer?  That will tell us if there are rooms on either side and where they start? Also, any windows to peer in (from the courtyard) on either side of the main entrance/master foyer?
(7) we can start mapping, but need those details to know where walls should be and where interior rooms on either side of the foyer and great hall would likely be...

Re: OOC

In reply to Cassandra (msg # 615):

Haha, I just wanted to know where to play the party token.

--Start in the Great Hall, OK.

(5) were there any other visible doors or exits out of the great hall - we had a skellie picture but no layout map that would show doors or halls off that room.

--The map of the that area of the manor is the hardest to read. That said, I think there are 3 doors as follows:

80' down on the western wall
30' down from the west on the north wall
70' down from the west on the south wall

(6) can we get a map or description of the front of the manor to either side of the Master Foyer?  That will tell us if there are rooms on either side and where they start? Also, any windows to peer in (from the courtyard) on either side of the main entrance/master foyer?

--You can choose to explore north or south of the Courtyard to gain the intelligence you desire.

(7) we can start mapping, but need those details to know where walls should be and where interior rooms on either side of the foyer and great hall would likely be...

--See response to #6. But I can add this info:
Huge Room   = 20 minutes to map.
Large Room  = 15
Medium Room = 10
Small Room  = 5

Re: OOC

I updated the party status report to show everyone's status post-healing and rest at the Luxury Lodge. Otis and Ereth need to confirm/update spells for next day at Manor.

Ornwin: you still need to update your AC on your thumb bio.

Everyone can also update their current HPs in the thumb bios if necessary.

In reply to Ornwin (msg # 618):

Ornwin: In AD&D1e & OSRIC, base AC starts at 10 and counts down from there.  Your chain mail and DEX adjustment reduce it -5 from that starting poin of 10t, as shown on the party status chart.

Re: OOC

Party (back in Tegel Manor):

My recommendation:

Before we proceed further into the Great Hall and beyond, I’d like to see if there is a secret door (in the obvious location) across from the side, single door in the Master Foyer.  Then I think we ought to check out those one or two doors off the Foyer.  May also be worth talking to the one helpful portrait that warned us about danger in the Great Hall to see if it will provide any other helpful info.  Not sure what to do with the last 3 unexamined portraits - worth the experience but we need to save successfully against spells to minimize the curse effects.
