Re: OOC#2

Archonia:
It seems to be that he is saying Bart, Hieroman, and Archonia are all bumped up to 12,500xp.
(Hieroman started there, Bart adjusting to that as his starting amount, and Archonia reaching it with the longevity amount.)
And the others, who have all been around much longer, add 3000xp to what they had.

Well, Hieroman started at 12.5k as he took control of a lev 5 NPC druid.

I had thought Archonia had just over/under 10k exp which would have meant +3k would give her more than 12.5k. I thought she was just a few hundred off of 4th level.

Papa Duc comes from the same egg as before.

Aha! So... perhaps I was correct with the doc/duc/duck connection. But since the "same egg as before" predates my arrival, this clue is presumably more helpful to the rest of you than to me. I will take Archonia's suggestion and look through the thread history to acquaint myself.

Re: OOC#2

The 3000xp put her at 12,599 xp, so 99pts over. Definitely do not take it as a complaint on my part though; she received 3000 for just being here, and it does not hurt her any of others are given more or less xp. I just thought it was funny it also came out to just about 12.5k!

I'm not sure, but I think the DM is saying the 'Papa Duc' Easter egg is just the Papa Doc reference I mentioned in msg #896, and does not go beyond that for any further meaning. Most of the Easter Eggs have been like that- a one-off joke or reference, not something to go too deeply into. But the DM can clarify, since he had not said that my guess of Papa Doc Duvalier of Haiti was right in the first place.

Hieroman:
OOC:  Sorry just a noob, I didn't see any character was a thief.

Bartholomew:
I'm guessing it's a choice between Cass (the thief) or Rasxif (the smallest)?

I confess, I was perplexed by your response to my post. Kudos to Cass for finding a funny/friendly way to resolve the quandary! :)

My response to the clip was the same as Elaine's. *L*

And Hieroman- just to be clear, neither Archonia nor myself have any issues with Hieroman or you.
Archonia just is not understanding the situation or request, and she views the reality as something that is not what everyone else does.

I have no issues either.  You say Archonia doesn't understand the situation, I'll accept that and leave it be.

I love everything about that scene, perhaps Elaine's response most of all.

2nd Fun Fact: OSRIC permits "kindly" DMs to allow victims of falling (falling victims?) to save vs. Breath Weapons for half damage.

But I shouldn't tease. In this case, Dwellers has its own falling damage algorithm.

Archonia has discovered 5 Easter Eggs! 7 total have been discovered! Who knows how many there are?

There were two eggs to be found in that post.

Brant, Cass has already arrived at her final destination.

Re: OOC#2

I suspected 'She'd teach them to prefer brunettes.' was one, perhaps a reference to 'Gentlemen prefer blondes', but it did not seem strong enough to mention. Maybe it is?

Re: OOC#2

Thanks for the reminder about Easter eggs. I am still not conditioned to look for them. I can read a post, get the references, and enjoy them, without realizing they represent potential XP bonuses.

Also, FTR, I had never seen that Lord of the Rhymes  video before. Nor heard of it. Am I the only one?

Lord of the Rhymes is early Internet before it had become the boob tube, some sort of endless version of America's Funniest Home Videos and Extremist Talk Radio.

There are things like that seemed to have slipped from both my memory and the Internet. I swear I can recall this Italian? Set in Italy? video of these three or four teens playing an endless poker game while a baby periodically screams from another room. The dialogue was rather existential.

Re: OOC#2

Up until a moment ago, none of us knew they represented potential xp.
That was the first time it came up.
I suppose that is an easter egg in and of itself!

No, I never heard of Lord of the Rhymes either. (Quite a few of the eggs he has thrown in are things I've never heard of before- some of them are well before my time.) But if something looks odd or out of place, I'll do a quick google search and see if anything comes up for it.
But it seems that I have probably also skipped a few of them thinking they were not strong enough to mention, when they were. Oh well!

The Italian poker game does not sound familiar to me.

The Amazing Horse- I think I could have gone through life not seeing that. ^_^;

18:00, Today: The Host, on behalf of Cassandra, rolled 58 using 1d100.  Pick locks.

You can make your thievery rolls, Cass. But you won't be able to attempt to pick this lock again until you gain more expertise.

Suggestion: We leave. Go back through the realm of the bugbears, back across the lake of crocodiles, back up the ladder to the Emperor of Curd. We return to Tegel Manor, challenge a few of the undead family members who are still hanging out there. If we all live, we return here a level higher and let Cassandra try again.
