"Hmm. Drift Masters sound good?" Garnet asked.

"Sure," said John.  "Much more likely to find someone in my family there.  Seriously into cars."

"Really? Any of them dating anyone?" Garnet asked.

"Yeah, both of my brother are," said John.  "I think I have a cousin around who's got a boyfriend, too."

"Let's see how it goes then. Werewolves and cars, huh?" Garnet asked.

"Yep," said John.  "I think it grows out of blue-collar werewolves, honestly."

"I guess you guys are the ones that caught the cars, huh?" Garnet asked and chuckled.

John raised an eyebrow at her.

"Sorry, I can be a real flame-brained dragon when it comes to puns and bad jokes," Garnet said.

That made John chuckle.

"We don't go in for car chasing anyway," said John.  "That's dogs.  We're wolves.  We catch what we chase."

"So, uh, do werewolves have any compulsions?" Garnet asked. "Like we do with hoarding..."

"Well, we howl at the moon," said John.  "And we can get kinda... you know... animalistic at times like that.  Full moons, I mean.  I do pretty well for self-control, though."

"Ah. Okay," Garnet said.

"...should I worry about the hoarding?" John asked.  "Or just plan on buying you stuff?"

"No, no, I'm not that bad," Garnet said.

"Well, luckily, I don't think I'm likely to want to borrow your stuff," said John.  "So no worries there."

"It's not for everything! Only one thing," Garnet said.

"What thing?" John asked, curious.

Garnet looked away so hopefully he wouldn't see her blush.

"Do I have to say?"

"Shiny and yellow?" John guessed.  "I mean, I don't actually know for sure..."

"No, it's different...," Garnet said. "Something girlier."

"...clothes?  Chocolate?" John guessed.  "Seriously no idea.  But if you tell me, maybe I can buy you presents sometime..."

Garnet sighed.

"...plushies..."

John started to say something, and then nodded.

"Okay, that's pretty normal," he said.  "I'll keep that in mind for your birthday... so, ready for the movie?"

"Yes, let's go," Garnet said.
