In our first issue, the heroes met up and defeated a group of thugs accosting a young maned wolf woman, seemingly lost in the city of Kingsbury. After a brief battle, they discovered she was not altogether unable to defend herself, as she was apparently a magic-wielder. The foursome teamed up however briefly to interrogate leader of the foolish group that had attacked her; a group of thugs from the Ivory Knives, a street gang that formed up in Goulcrest, the industrial district of town. The leader admitted that they had been tasked by a strange group of military-styled "operators" to chase her down... including a huge rabbit that fits the description of the super-criminal known as Big Hare.

The young maney woman inferred she wasn't from town, but before she could explain why she was there, the group followed a group of sirens. This actually led them to her ultimate goal: A bookstore known as Bartley's Books, secretly a bookseller that purveyed grimoires and more mystical tomes. A murder had occurred there that night, ending the life of the uncle of the owner, an elderly fox by the name of Saul Bartley.

After a brief search of the premises, the group determined that the fox died because of an old 17th century guide on mystically etching armor had been lifted from the backroom...
