IC YP Chapter 1.2 The Citadel Thread 2

Despite some jerky movements, B.E.A.R. skillfully switched weapons and caught the skeleton facing it right under the jaw, fracturing the neck bones, causing the head to fall off. (Skeleton 3 is dead)

The Bugbear could be heard bellowing in the side room [Language unknown: "Din, i icof has io wheto!"]

The twig blight facing Vyn'al swiped at the wizard, scoring another hit (Vyn'al is hit for 3 damage)

Unfettered by the scratch, the elf magically lit a bonfire under the twig blight roasting it instantly, the escaping gases sounding almost like a scream for a second (Twig blight 3 is dead).

The two skeletons that saw the light coming from the cleric's holy symbol turned tail, one fleeing in the side room, and the other going through the south door (not on the map anymore). Keely reacted too slowly and missed her attack. (AO failed)

The  final twig blight tried to slash at Brankx but the hard wood "fingers" slipped in the armor, leaving some splinters.

Erky's arrow flew in the open door and hit a goblin moving to wake up one of the sleeping ones (goblin 2 is hit for 6 damage). Having no targets, Ken strayed put.

Keely made short work of the twig blight beside her and Brankx, clearing the room from all enemies, leaving only the fleeing skeleton to the south and the monsters in the side room. The blood thirsty woman moved towards the side room.

This relative calm allowed the dwarven cleric to ask his god to heal his wounds.

"Gods above, look at all the blood."  The gnome surveyed the carnage - the scattered bodies of skeletons and twig blights.  "Wait a minute ...   Oh well, it sounded good."

Curious as to what more might be in the room beyond the doorway - but not brave enough to get any nearer - Erky sidled north along the back wall.  His loyal mechanical followed  his movement, protective as ever of his creator.  Then the gnome spied the big goblin.  "Oh my.  That's a big one," he said, redundantly echoing his narrative voice.  And he loosed another magic arrow through the doorway.

IC YP Chapter 1.2 The Citadel Thread 2

B.E.A.R. moved in the room and the last thing that goblin one saw, after his magical nap, was the point of a rapier penetrating its eye, before destroying its brain. (goblin 1 is dead)

The Bugbear, seeing how the small army he had assembled just got destroyed, decided to try to force his way out of the death trap, eliciting opportunity attacks from B.E.A.R. (hits for 8 damage), Keely (missed) and Brankx (hits for 8 damage) fleeing up to the north door. (Bugbear moves and dashes)

Vyn'al, seeing his intended target bursting to get out, decided to stay put and erected a bonfire in its path, that the bugbear ran straight into. (bugbear fails Dex save, 5 fire damage)

The click-clacking of skeletal feet could still be heard fleeing the scene from the south. (skeleton 4 is turned)

The curious Erky wondered about the size of the bugbear but it would not do that it was fleeing, so he took an magical arrow and pinned it on the north door, like a huge insect in a collection (bugbear is dead)

Keely went into the room and started mopping up the remaining goblins...

<ooc> At this point its almost irrelevant to do another combat round, you're gonna make mincemeat of them... Combat is over, all the enemies are defeated

"Did you see that, Ken.  It tried to run away."  A faint, reddish glow pulsed from the palms of his hands as the gnome ran them over the rent and damaged sections of his creation.  "Goes to show that they aren't crazy."

A glance over one shoulder revealed the others seemingly still in pursuit of the mysterious Belak.  That, and the litter of bodies scattered across the floor.  "I wonder if any of them have something worth taking," speculated the gnome.

The party continued north, discovering a large octogonal room with the same sickly garden in it. A door in the south west quadrant is closed.

Erky's search of the dead creatures mostly found some agricultural equipment, but the bugbear was carrying a pouch containing 5 gold pieces and 17 silver pieces.

"Are we resting?  Again?"  The quirk of the gnome's mouth suggested a shrug.  Then he nodded, gave Ken a comradely pat on the shoulder, and pocketed the coin from the bugbear.  "This last little set to did its best to bloody us a bit.  And it would be in our better interest to be at our best when we encounter this Belak fellow."

Keely checked the door, finding it unlocked. It opened towards the octogonal room and revealed a wide corridor, ending with a domed room. Dragon-carved granite blocks line this chamber’s walls and ceiling, though many are crumbled and broken, leaving stony debris on the floor. A huge marble statue of a rearing red dragon stands in the curve of the western wall. The eye sockets of the dragon are empty, but a red glow lingers there, providing reddish light throughout the chamber. The radiance casts an inky shadow behind the statue’s wide wings. A five-foot-diameter, circular tile of dark stone is set in the floor in front of the dragon statue. Runes are carved around the circular tile’s inner edge.

OOC: Brings me back up to full (48hp).

Keely spent the hour wiping away at the edges of her wounds with a damp cloth, and binding the more serious ones.  Nothing was life-threatening, but she knew that goblins sometimes fouled their weapons intentionally, and she didn't want any chance for infection to set in.  When she was done, she got to her feet and opened the door into the corridor leading to the dragon statue.  "Let's go," she said brusquely, and led the way.
