Patagogi is here to revenge his cousin.  Still a bloodrage with minor changes and a level.

Re: OOC

I'm gonna keep Veana as a Warrior of the Holy Light. I figured, until she meets her demise, I'll stick with this build in hopes of getting to try it out at higher levels!

And I'm definitely excited to fight some undead for sure! :D

Although, losing Arashi's channels for that will be sad, I totally support going the Druid route because they are my all time favorite class ;-)

Druids are ungodly OP, I agree. And if you RP properly? Very fun to play, too.

Gorum, I finished with Puck's upgrade. It was straighforward one, too. Enchanted spear, enchanted armor.

And ... WHERE IS MAI MONEH ? :D

Re: OOC

I think I might just bring the Jurassic Park to you instead Puck. I have my eye on the Saurian Shaman. I might go for summoning and Totemic Summons are nice. The Wild Shape delay sucks, but the bonus will probably be worth it when it gets unlocked.

So, the encounter forecast tells us there is a 99% chance of undead rain. What can we plan here?

Undead type has bad Ref and Fort saves, but they are flat out immune to most Fort save effects. Could use that not-grease to keep them contained.

Around this level, I'd say we'd have to contend with DR/bludgeoning or DR/slashing most likely. DR/silver or DR/magic also pops out for undead at this level-ish, but rarer. Worst case, Veana's smiting and Uluchi's blasts don't care about DR. Though vampires are resistant to cold and skeletons are flat out immune, an alternative to cold blast might be needed. Flasks of Bone Burn is a decent backup splash option. 2d6 damage to undead is nice if the alternative is just running around.

How is our UMD situation? There are some spells we might want to scroll as preparation (Greater Hide from Undead comes to mind).

@Gorum: Do you think we have a way of roughly guessing how much pre-buffing we can do before the fight? Like a couple of days before the fight so we can buy last-minute potions/scrolls. Like maybe if I can cast Insect Spies/Scouts to get some information about the location, would it help us plan better?

Re: OOC

I was considering taking the Command Spell (or is that too overpowered for this encounter, GM?), and maybe Boneshaker? And I still have Magic Missile for any incorporeal enemies. For weapon-using people, picking up a Ghost Salt Blanche might be a good idea in case there are ghosts. Costs 200 400 gp.

Re: OOC

Uluchi Sesa has lots of UMD (Standing +10), so anything DC 20 or less she can buff you with; which means anything that can be put on a Wand; for a scroll, she would need help. If casters have access to Guidance or any other skill boosting spell they are willing to have on cooldown for the fight, I can use Scrolls as well; Guidance would get me to level 1 scrolls.

As far as changing out for a druid goes; I think your character is great but by all means, mix it up. This game's particular setup is a great place to try out builds and things.

I may even switch off of Sesa eventually once I get my fill of poisoning people. Unlikely, but possible.

Re: OOC

@Arashi: I'm generally not a huge fan of combat healing, though it did work really well in the first fight, and healing is admittedly a lot better with Koji's heal synergy.  Then again, druids are always great.

As for pre-buffing:  I was hinting at it in the set-up description, but I might as well just come out and say it:  Since you're clearing out a relatively small crypt with a sealed door, you'll have time to use any prep spells with a duration of over 1 minute.

Koyrai: Command undead isn't too powerful for this encounter.

Awesome. Yes, Command Undead was what I had intended to type out. Somehow I forgot the undead part, but I am glad you knew what I was talking about anyway.

Yeah, also ... we have 10,500 gp at this level. Magic items started popping up in my inventory anyway.

And I noticed something awesome, that is also a potential exploit that Gorum should know about.

Example with my favorite spell-grenade:
Wand of Fireball - 10 charges, you pay for 20 charges ... but have the consumable item re-charged for free each scenario. It's still only 20% cost.

For example Veana could, I dunno, buy something similar to an item granting her Quickdraw feat. And have several consumables with AoE smite style spells to blow up on baddies.

When I first heard about crypt we are to investigate? My first image was :"Why can't we fill it with Holy Water mist?" something similar to the spell used by wizards to create mist, but cleric version that creates Holy Water vapour.

Re: OOC

For this game, wands have to come with at least 25 charges.  And just as an opinion: wands of any spell that allows a save are rarely worth it, since they always have the lowest DC possible.

Kyorai, imagine maximum pettiness towards the satyr! He'll have to wear maid costume during his service. ;)

And carry bags for Sesa. :P

Gorum, good addendum. Wands are good if you know their limitations and work accordingly. For example, Wand of Fireball or Lighting. You aren't using it because you expect that enemy will fail save ... but to, metaphorically speaking, Tim the Enchanter situation.

Like when enemy have swarm of mooks.

Re: OOC

Hey all! I'm about done with Tal here, a very druid person with Fandor the dinosaur friend!

I've gone with a summon-oriented build but also got a couple of battlefield control spells prepared. And bought scrolls. A lot of scrolls. In my defense, I've gotta buff two characters now and that buff window is very tasty.

Speaking of, I've got an Ashen Path scroll with a single extra target. I can have one person who wants to sit in an ash cloud be the third target for that scroll. (If more than one person wants, you can chip in a 100gp and I can have the CL increased to have more targets.)

@Uluchi: I've got a scroll of Bless for you to activate. I have the Guidance prepared for that.

@Koyrai: I'm gonna hand you like five scrolls: Double Mage Armor, Double Prot vs Evil, and a Blur

@Puck: Can you fire some pheromone arrows in this fight? I've got a friend here with scent that would really appreciate that. (And Veana had an alter self form with scent that she used last fight IIRC)

Re: OOC

@taliesin, I could ... but unfortunately I have only 18 gp left from various purchases. How much they cost? Three people with scent, including me, isn't something to sneer at after all.

Did you prepare Sillelagh for this encounter? Remember to not take something that could drop the crypt on our heads. ;)

Re: OOC

The base price is 15gp each for those, I'm guessing that also doubles. I have some leftover gold, 90 gold if my math is right. So I can buy them for you. (Edit: Here is a link btw, https://www.d20pfsrd.com/equip...bow-arrow-pheromone/) (More edit: Gosh darn d20pfsrd. The price is in the ammo table here: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment/weapons/ If only I could properly link to aonprd page this wouldn't happen)

Prepare? No. Bought a scroll of it instead :D

All I'm going to do is roll around a giant ball of water around, what damage could it possibly do. :D

Re: OOC

If you borrow me that cash? I can craft those arrows. :)

Then, if we survive the next encounter, I'll give back you 90 gp or something useful with the same value.

Because if my calculations are right? I can craft one arrow with what I have left. Leaving me with 3 gp.

If Gorum allows, I'll make the crafting roll before adventure starts. Have you considered taking a Magic Item Crafting feat?

Indeed, and that is likely going to be my go-to form for my Alter Self SLA since the increase in speed makes up for me wearing full plate. Plus, having Scent AND a bite attack are also good reasons for it, especially now that any unarmed/natural attacks I make count as Cold Iron too :D

Re: OOC

I'll mark the 90 gp as lent to Puck then. We can just assume that you paid back when we're doing the shopping for the next-next encounter.

I wanted to get Craft Wondrous Items, but the feat space was tight. Not going to lie, that was the primary motivator behind Tal being a human. Bonus Feat is a good bonus.

Adlet is a pretty good form for Alter Self. And bite doesn't get invalidated by holding a sword. Like, take sasquatch for example. Same speed and darkvision as an extra sense. But gives a slam attack instead of a bite, which you can't use if you have a +1 longsword of beating people up.

That's 100g per person above 3. The spell can target 1 person/caster level, and it is a 2nd level so it starts at CL3. I bought it for Tal and Fandor initially. So I can already target a third, since I already bought it. But for more targets, I need to buy it at higher CL. (If above 5 targets, we can do two scrolls at 3 to get to 6 and then increase their levels if need be.
