Re: OOC

Feral Hunter eh? First time I've seen one of those, were-elf with a big pack eventually, I like the sound of that!

My witch has a bit of a serpentine theme as you might imagine, but my spells are pretty straight-forward I think, mostly CC at this level. I'll have evil eye and charm, misfortune or cackle next level, I figure.

Re: OOC

I totally plan on ripping off the Legolas, but a savage. Not your typical image an elf creates, no? :)

Serpent themed witch? So, would your Character mind being my Puck's contact with the party?
He's "allergic" to city's aromas thus him showing up in a tavern without a dire need is unlikely.

Campfire spirits keep "telling" him to let them at them.

But his grandma told him that doing freebies for others is stupid and she didn't raise a ... stupid youth. ;)

Gorum
, if I take proper Craft skill for my guy can I have arrows and stuff made cheaper than standard prices?

Efficient Quiver will be the magic item of choice, sixty arrows, 18 javelins and some spears'n'bows? Me likes. Can be shaeningans with Quick Draw feat. But on the other hand, I can't live without Improved Initiative either.

Will post the build tomorrow, need to agonize over spells first.

Re: OOC

Yeah that sounds good, part of the witch job is mediation between the Other and Civilization.

Her name is Uluchi Sesa, she is a traveler from the far east; Vudra to be specific.

@Koyrai: Everything seems to be in order with your sheet.

@Player 6/ Puck: I hadn't thought about crafting between fights, but you're not the only player to bring it up.  After a bit of thought, here's the crafting rules:

-Characters have 4 weeks (28 days) to craft between fights (or before their first fight.)  You have to take 10 on any skill checks, and you may not use craft or other skills to earn money during your downtime, only to create equipment.

I probably won't be able to get my sheet done until Thursday. I am on a business trip with limited internet.

Noted Gorum!

My boy is ready, and if we are given time to prepare? Spiked traps, camouflaged are in the menu.
I have The Shovel(TM).

Re: OOC

Sorry for the delays on my end. Will try to have a character sheet done in the next few days. I caught some bug--fortunately not COVID--and been sick for the past few days, and the meds are making me super foggy, so its hard to concentrate for extended periods of time...which is also making work harder :\

Someone robbed ya? ;)

Anyhow, a joke I wish to share with the class ... so to speak. After I agonized and finished the build, checking my math twice and so on ... Gorum suddenly asked me why I didn't make Puck, who is meant to be movie Legolas as far as deeds and feats of silliness go, into a Zen Archer?

My hand hurt from that facepalm. :D

I'll hold that idea for Puck's long-not-seen twin brother Pock. If Puck ever dies, because RNGesus is out to get me, it should lessen the agony and embarrassment. :]

I am also hopeful our Characters will live to next level! My Puck will get Wildshape then.
As far as cash goes? Take seriously Gorum's warning about it being combat-heavy campaign.

We get ~month between life'n'death battles, so some pre-game budget concerns are good but I prefer to spend money now, I'm left with 26 gp and can borrow that sum to our resident Witch ... since Player agreed that her Character can be Puck's contact with talky not-his-elf-tribe beings.

Pre-game warnings. My Puck is ... if you imagine movie!Legolas but a caveman version? Cavelf, though. Sorta like elf version of memetic Native Americans.

But with savag'er elf motifs instead of "savage tribal" human motifs.

Another, my Puck is an elf of few words. If he can gesture to get something done? He will, also pretending to not understand human tongue might be one of his quirks. :)

His combat style? He is an ambush archer. If he can prepare? Expect traps, like primitive hunters use against animals they eat, and I hope nobody will be suriprised that he thinks that dwarves and orcs are good for tree fertilizer only?

He might have lets say, reservations, about Your orc person. ;}

Re: OOC

Looks like I'm good to go now!

Veana is an Angelkin Aasimar and a devoted follower of Falayna, an Empyreal Lord patron of femininity and martial training. She can handle herself in a fight, but is also an accomplished healer, whose angelic blood and ties to the divine realms have granted her unusual abilities when it comes to mending the wounds of her companions. She is one to honor her word and cares deeply for her friends.

Mechanically, she's got 1 level of Oracle of Life and 2 levels of Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light archetype). She won't be much of a spellcaster, since the archetype trades away all spellcasting ability, and I plan on focusing more levels on Paladin than Oracle. Most of the healing she can do will come from Lay On Hands--the archetype grants more uses and versatility for this feature--and the use of the Heal skill in combination with some feats and traits that will allow me to treat deadly wounds more efficiently and not be limited to doing so only once per day per character. If she manages to survive long enough, I'm hoping to pick up a pair of wings via the Aasimar racial feat at level 11. My idea would be for her to end up with a level distribution of Paladin 14 / Oracle 6 at max level, so really would only be casting up to 3rd level spells at most :)

Ok I think I am finished.

Veana.  Thank build will help me a great deal.  It means my 2 (possibly 6) level is Ranger will not effect the healing abilities of the party so badly.  It make me a half decent archer.

Indeed, while combat-healing is useless from Puck's perspective ... if we get a half-hour of peace? He can help as well, including Heal Skill usage.

Goodberry spell spam, and +8HP a day isn't shabby, is good enough including our characters spending less money on food when forced to recupeate from severe, but luckily survivable, beating.

Re: OOC

Yeah, out-of-combat healing is always preferred, but good to have the ability to heal in combat when the need arises. As far as out-of-combat healing, Vaena can pull off a nifty trick up to 3/day (for now until we level up and I can put more ranks into Knowledge Planes) that should allow me to treat deadly wounds as a full-round action instead of taking 1 hour to do so, which should allow her to just take 20 and basically take 2 minutes to heal about 7HP without needing to spend any magic or other resources, which isn't too shabby and the amount healed will increase as we level up as well. That will be my go-to trick for out-of-combat healing, especially since she doesn't even need a healer's kit for it :)

Re: OOC

Neat! I'll try finding some things to help.

I do have a Masterwork Healer Kit, but lack Profession:Herbalism to easily replenish it in a forest.

Will probably spend a portion of next treasure/loot to make it into magic item, infinite healing kit I mean, or enchant some blankets for us to double our healing speed.

If memory serves? A magic item simulating use of a Feat costs ~10,000 gp. And there is plenty of feats we can use to improve self-healing. Sadly, some of those I know of are elf-specific.

Re: OOC

Don't forget this game is pretty much all boss battles, and we have like 4 weeks between battles. It seems to me that out of combat healing may not be a big issue the majority of the time.

I'm not saying don't worry about it at all, but I am saying it might not pay to spend so much time and effort worrying about it.

That said, I have the option of picking up one or two healing spells as we level as well, thanks to an alternate racial trait.
