According to your schedule of events, as available from Zou Yan, or any of the house terminals, should you wish to check, you are requested to Assemble in the Library at 17:00 in preparation for departure to, and attendance at the opening ceremony of the Expo.
The requested dress code is smart business casual.

Natalie, Alana ,Blake, Cormac ,Kenneth, Edward ,Winter, Cathal, and Natsuki will all arrive between 16:55 and 17:00.

Cathal is dressed in a dark grey blazer, dark green polo shirt, and light beige chinos. He's wearing a pair of tan work-boots which appear to be his hallmark.
Edward is dressed in a pale grey blazer, dark blue silk shirt, and dark grey dress pants. Unlike Cathal he's wearing a pair of black brogues.
Blake and Cormac are both dressed in light open fronted jackets, plain round neck T-shirts and chinos. Both are wearing shoes in the style of a brogue.
Kenneth is dressed in a black blazer, blue polo shirt, and black chinos, but doesn't look comfortable in the attire. He is also wearing a pair of black ankle work-boots.
Winter is dressed in a similar style to Blake and Cormac, only her jacket has more of a military style to it as do her 3/4 calf height boots.
Alana is dressed in an ombre blue blouse and black trousers. Black ballet flats complete her outfit.
Natalie is dressed in a dark grey jacket, medium green t-shirt, black tailored jeans, and tan walking boots.
Natsuki is dressed in a pale grey blazer, pale blue blouse, and knee length burgundy pleated skirt. Like Alana she is also wearing black ballet flats.

Rhiannon arrived at the library at 10:00. It was nice never needing a watch. The only thing tat might have made her late was a bit of indecision about what to wear, but with few choices, she arrived on time. She was a bit more on the casual side of business casual but not out of line with perfectly fit designer blue jeans, a loose white blouse with a mid-V neckline, and a gray open no-button casual blazer. Boots seemed to be the a common selection. Hers were brown to match her silver appointed belt.

"And here we are, brothers sisters cousins. I suppose I don't know which for any of you. Don't we all look smart."

Cassandra arrived promptly dressed once again almost completely in black
dressed in pair of wide-legged slacks, that she had paired with a pinstriped waistcoat both garments were tucked behind a black waist-corset. All of which was obscured by the gauzy embroidered jacket she had on over top.

Quite miraculously she had minimal makeup and jewelry on ... well minimal for her. Upon entering the room she nodded her greetings to the others

Cordelia will arrive promptly at 17:00. She is dressed in a traditional Chinese style silk dress with a motif of Phoenix and the Disjunction Triple rings (at a guess this must have been custom woven for the event).
She hands each of you a lapel badge, approx 40mm high by 30mm wide. The bulk of the badge is a Phoenix Displayed with a 20mm wide x 10mm high bar grasped in its talons. On the left half of the bar is the Disjunction triple rings symbol whilst the right half is a silver and peach rose.



Leaving the library she heads down to the foyer.

In the foyer you are joined by a warrior in traditional Chinese armour

 who carries not only her own sword but Cordelia's as well. Choi Lee (Cordelia's PA) and Hou-Jin Sun (her Steward) also join the group.



Cordelia walks towards the "security scanner" causing it to activate, and revealing what appears to be another room beyond. She disappears through.



Passing though the gateway you find yourselves in a cordoned off area (by security screens), of the entrance foyer of the Exhibition Hall.
Choi leads you through into a VIP Suite predominantly occupied by You-Tube and Twitch TV "Gods" and assorted important Technology and Gaming commentators and journalists.

There is a bar although it's currently only serving non-alcoholic drinks, primarily coffee.
Choi then leaves you and heads through one of the other doors off the VIP suite.



About 5 minutes later the lights begin to dim, fading into darkness. A single spotlight then comes on. Cordelia then appears from the wings and moves to the podium in the centre of the stage.

She begins by welcoming everyone to the Mizzurian Expo, and thanking them for attending. She also thanks all the You-Tubers and streamers for their reviews and evaluations of Disjunction, more on which later.
She then moves to introducing the BlackShadow Console in outline, and how its designed to give an integrated 3D virtual world experience, and how Disjunction was designed to be fully immersive from the outside.

She then hands over to [xxx] Mizzurian's chief technical director who presents the console, it's abilities, and the new VR and AI systems in more detail. This takes about 15 minutes and is fairly technical but you've experienced most of what he describes already.

There is a brief handover, before Cordelia introduces Disjunction by way of introducing a video made by compiling the exploits of the You-Tube and Twitch players as they learnt and played the game in the period February 2013 to Mid-April 2013.
After the video which is about 20 minutes in length she opens the floor to questions.
There are a number about whether the whole exercise is a con to which she replies that by the end of the day they will have shipped the 5.5million pre-ordered consoles and games and the 2.7million VR Add-ons (Helmet and Elodes). There are also 250,000 consoles available for sale during the Expo and 150,000 VR Sets. This is in addition to the 500 console systems and 300 VR units that are available for use in the Expo concourse.
On the question of who the girl in the advert was she refuses to comment..

Opening ceremony over, it's slightly over 70 minutes from start to finish, you are now free to peruse the Expo.
Choi will remind you that you need to be back in the VIP suite by 13:20, in time for the VIP lunch at 1:30.

Note: all of Mizzurian's back catalogue have been ported to run on the console, but only Disjunction is designed from the outset to be played in VR. The Expo also sports Stands and Exhibits from several other wholly owned Mizzurian Corporations, Cyberworks Corporation of Virginia, KLS ltd of Iowa, Micronet and  Cortalan, the former based in Cambridge, England, and the second based in Southampton, England. There is also a stand from a company called Applied Lorentz Magnetometrics.

Rhiannon had no idea what to expect at the expo. She had never been to one, but she was pretty confident that being escorted by a Chinese warrior in full armor was not the norm. Still, it was pretty cool. The presentation itself proved to be very interesting. She wasn't really a big video game player, but she did play them like most people her age. The designs were beautiful and the excitement from the crowd made it all that much more compelling. The seventy minutes or so went by rather quickly.

Once they were released to move about, she looked over at her cousins. "I'm going to wander around. I have no particular goal other than to pick up swag. Does anyone want to join me?"

"Well I can't say for sure. But she does have a familiarity to her. I expect that means she is actually family. So, I'll go out on a limb and hazard a guess. Given her prominence yet, shall we say lesser role, I'll say it Cordelia's daughter."

"Okay. That would explain the mysterious delivery of clothes than arrived a couple of days later. But why the charade? Why not just say who she was?"

"I don't know. I'm sure we'll find out eventually. Shall we explore and pick up swag we may never use?"

Cathal strolls over to Rhiannon. "Sure. Lead on."

Rhiannon smiles over at her countryman. "Oh sure. How did I get to be the leader? Very well." After a brief scan of the expo hall, she confirmed that she had no idea where to start. That meant any random direction would do. Grabbing a swag bag off a nearby rack, she went to the first table that had more than stress balls and made a show of acting interested in their wares.

"Hello there," She addressed the black shirted Cyberworks representative. The man looked to be in his early twenties with curly hair and an almost beard. "I'm Rhiannon. I'm affiliated with Mizurian. Tell me more about your products, if you would." Meanwhile she selected a polo shirt in her size, a phone charger and a journal.

Cathal looks at the stuff but does not take anything, unless it looks like it is recyclable.

So most of the 'swag' available relates to Mizzurian Games, posters, demo versions, coasters, etc. There are Mizzurian ceramic mugs or reusable plastic coffee cups, the latter also available with the Disjunction logo on. No 'free' clothing, other than Disjunction baseball caps.

All of the merchandise on sale relates to Mizzurian games, with a predominant emphasis on Disjunction.
Bags either in paper or cotton, and recyclable are available with Mizzurian, its subsidiaries, or Disjunction branding.

So most of the Expo is dedicated to Mizzurian's computer games, the bits that are not are those for it's wholly owned subsidiaries.

CyberWorks and KLS Corporation seem to be primarily involved in the Defence and Space Industries.
Cyberworks involvement seems to be primarily in the application of AI to Automated Facility Control, Autonomous Robotics Control, and Command and Control Systems, whilst the KLS Corporation specializes in Robotics, Exo-Skeletons, and Prosthetics.

Micronet are primarily a specialist chip designer and manufacturer, whilst Cortalan's specialization appears to be the design and application of neural networks and neural processors.

Applied Lorentz Magnetometrics don't seem to have any "products" as such, just some really interesting simulations relating to manipulating magnetic fields. Other than reproductions of a few scientific papers relating to magnetic field theory, super conductors, super conducting magnets, and the application of magnetic field theory to vehicle propulsion, they don't appear to have much information available.

All of the subsidiaries except Applied Lorentz Magnetometrics have 'high level' corporate brochures available both relating to the scope of their products and the Subsidiary as an Employer. There is a similar employment level brochure available for Mizzurian, which a wide range of opportunities ranging from graphic art through to games software development and implementation to systems admin and support.

Cathal picks a Mizzurian ceramic mug for his father and his girl friend and get a collection of cotton bags from the various exhibitors.

"The exhibitorw offer something that help people in vairous ways or defend people. Aside the the game. Maybe."

Cassandra appeared next to the others "Well looks like I've got another travel mug to add to my collection"

"Nope" She responded to Cathal's question, she said with a smirk "I don't think that's the reason why we've been invited though"

Rhiannon picked up a mug and a baseball cap. The Dysjunction logo was cool.  "I haven't played it, no. But I want to now." She also took a demo version, though she suspected she could get the full version. "I don't think I recall ever being given a reason for this invitation, but I suspect that this game will feature in whatever plans Cordelia has for our efforts. I wonder if you could traverse Shadow or use trumps in VR."

Since you all, already have Mizzurian accounts, and the Mizzurian App on your phones, as soon as you put the VR headset on you will get the following greeting


Creating an avatar based on your current system avatar, even one morphed to one of the 5 available races, noting that the standard start doesn't allow the selection of a Droid, Android, or Robot form, and your morphed form in this instance would be to an Android form, substantively reduces the time taken to create an Avatar.
Once in the game you will notice that there are a lot of individuals that pretty much all look the same around in the station (see the Disjunction description on the Web Site), as if all those playing the 'Demo' version at the Expo only have a limited selection of Avatars to choose from...

You will also find that the VR headsets you are using are nowhere near as responsive as the the ones in the Mansion.. and you actually have to speak for the system to respond to commands...

Rhiannon put on a headset and joined in the demo. Her system avatar was fine, and saw no need to transform her into some other race. She just made sure that she had on clothes. Once set, she finds a central place in the station and waits for Cathal and anyone else joining.

Cathal considers his Avatar to be find for the moment and joins in looking for his cousin finding her in the station, he waits there for Cassandra and Kenneth.

Kenneth won't play.. he's so far out of his depth, even with the concept he has no idea where to even start. Remember he grew up on Shadow Earth, where just surviving day to day was all that mattered (and they had little to no power and what there was was used to power the makeshift hydroponics and heat the makeshift green houses).

Edward also won't play .. not his style..
Natsuki, Winter, and Cormac will play.
Neither Blake, Alana, nor Natalie will play.

As 'new' players you automatically enter tutorial mode. Your first tasks are to visit various places  in the Space Station, Traders of various ilks, The Guild Hall, Ship Yard, Ship Maintenance Hanger, The Promenade (assortment of bars, clubs, and food halls), Medical Centre, Port Authority.
At the Port Authority you're given the activator token for your first ship, a low level multi-role Corvette class ship (Standard demo start would give a smaller equivalent 'fighter' class ship). You're then directed to the docking bays.

The next task is to undock, and fly an obstacle course which gets more difficult the further along the course you get. As none of the characters are major games players it is likely to take you several attempts to do this. This introduces you to what happens when our ship gets destroyed, which in High Sec space results in a 'Naval System Patrol' vessel arriving in response to your distress beacon. As you're in tutorial mode you automatically get a replacement ship, once out of tutorial mode, you would get a credit based on your ship's insurance, assuming you had it insured. You'd then need to buy a new ship from the market, and potentially, depending on which station was selling it, go and collect it, or arrange for it to be delivered.

Once you've mastered the art of flying there are several more tutorials which cover other aspects of the game in space, combat, salvaging, mining, trading, finding anomalies and worm holes, and what you might expect to find/encounter in one. The Tutorial sections need to be done in order as each provides basic tools and upgrades to the ship to do the next section. Once you've completed a section and exited the 'playfield' you cannot return to that tutorial section. Note that whilst in 'tutorial' mode you're in 'single' player mode.


You're unlikely to be able to get more than a couple of the tutorials done before you get a reminder from Kai Cheng that you're expected in the VIP hall at 13:20 in preparation for attending the VIP Lunch at 13:30.

Cassandra followed the others "I'll watch for now, perhaps I'll play later it does seem interesting."

"Once we have passed the tutorials, we can try some stuff together." Cathal offers.

"Well that was a bit of fun." Rhiannon took her head gear off, setting it back on the table. "I can't wait to play it at the Mansion with the more immersive experience. Though I wonder if I really want to get blown up more realistically."

Looking at the others, she points. "I think it's time for us to go to the VIP hall. I hope they're serving more than coffee." Without further prompting, she heads for the VIP room.
