Nefertiti:
In reply to Eva Altman (msg # 344):
Most at the event is using the power of Mask of Tranquility: The Kindred masters the art of hiding himself to such a degree that he may subvert some of the stains that undeath leaves upon his soul. A vampire who knows this power can mask his Kindred nature from onlookers, leaving them without the impression that the Predator’s Taint inflicts.
Therefore, the character doesn’t even appear as a vampire to other Kindred who see him.
I'm just weighing in because I really enjoy the nuances of RP around what players have spent their XP on/their Humanity score/etc.
Mask of Tranquility masks
Predator's Taint, which is the !!!! when vampires encounter each other for the first time and is reflecting in Blood Potency. The Storyteller can call for different types of Frenzy checks around this, so MoT is exactly how it sounds: keeping things chill because the other vampire's Beast doesn't sense yours. "Appearing Human" I know is in the books somewhere but other Merits highlight how it's different.
Eva has the Coil that makes her appear exceptionally human, no matter her Humanity score. She captures all the nuances of human expression and even breathes, which some vampires may envy or be creeped out by. It SHOULD be RP'd as an exceptional feat of overcoming the Beast and what makes the Ordo Dracul neat/spooky.
Blush of Life, as Eva's player posted, lets your vampire flush their body to mimic
bodily functions. You can eat, drink, be warm to the touch, and have intercourse as a function of blending in among humanity.
