Aww, man, I'm last place. Oh well, at least my most powerful creations are currently roaming the world.

Possibly a result of just missing a vote? Guess it might matter. I was partaking more to build a world.

However, if that missing point is nagging at you, gotta recount that round. Not sure how organized everyone else was with voting, but all my votes were cast using a single PM thread, so mine should be easy to track.

Gotta admit, there were more than one round where I didn't want to vote for third place at all.

Single pm

Should be easy to do, for me as well.

The Second bit is Quite Harsh.

Agreed. That's my bad. I shouldn't have said it.

Well, I began very well with the smokeweed but fell out to second to last afterwards...

I was really surprised in second round for the many uses of smokeweed on the places.

Re: OOC Thread

Smokeweed was neat. Moderately original, gave the world a unique commodity, and started to add definition to the magic system with the order/chaos stuff. That's why I tried to incorporate it. I tried incorporating as much of what was canon as I could as I submitted each round.

I tried not to make any assumptions about what was in the world other than what we had created and discussed.

I should think that a basic understanding of what does or does not exist at first would be a good discussion to have should this process ever be done again.

We did manage to spin "orcs" into something neat though!

Re: OOC Thread

(Xadir) Trait Stones:
(Balance) Star Steel:
(Me) Belt and Scabbard of Thunderbolt:
(Daryus) The Shell of Orkan-Mahru:
(World's) Advisor's Stone:

Balance votes:
3 points for the trait stones
2 points for the belt and Scabbard of Thunderbolt
1 point for the Advisor stone

(Xadir) Trait Stones: 3
(Balance) Star Steel:
(Me) Belt and Scabbard of Thunderbolt: 2
(Daryus) The Shell of Orkan-Mahru:
(World's) Advisor's Stone:  1

World's:

Trait Stones: 3 Points
Belt and Scabbard of Thunderbolt: 2 Points
Star Steel: 1 Point

(Xadir) Trait Stones: 3 and 3 is 6
(Balance) Star Steel: 1
(Me) Belt and Scabbard of Thunderbolt: 2 and 2 is 4
(Daryus) The Shell of Orkan-Mahru:
(World's) Advisor's Stone:  1

Daryus:

3 - Star Steel
2 - Trait Stones
1 - Belt and Scabard

(Xadir) Trait Stones: 6 and 2 is 8
(Balance) Star Steel: 1 and 3 is 4
(Me) Belt and Scabbard of Thunderbolt: 4 and 1 is 5
(Daryus) The Shell of Orkan-Mahru:
(World's) Advisor's Stone:  1

Xadir:

3: Advisor's Stone
2: Star Steel
1: The Shell of Orkan-Mahru

(Xadir) Trait Stones: 8
(Balance) Star Steel: 4 and 2 is 6
(Me) Belt and Scabbard of Thunderbolt: 5
(Daryus) The Shell of Orkan-Mahru: 1
(World's) Advisor's Stone:  1 and 3 is 4

Me:

I always voted first, because I would see all the votes, and voting first would mean I couldn't manipulate things-- just like everyone else, I wouldn't know how everyone else's votes were going.

(Xadir) Trait Stones: 8
(Balance) Star Steel: 6
(Me) Belt and Scabbard of Thunderbolt: 5
(Daryus) The Shell of Orkan-Mahru: 1
(World's) Advisor's Stone:  4

So if we compare these to my final results:

(Xadir) Trait Stones: 10
(Balance) Star Steel: 6
(Me) Belt and Scabbard of Thunderbolt: 5
(Daryus) The Shell of Orkan-Mahru: 4
(World's) Advisor's Stone: 4

It looks like I must have given 3 to the Shell, 2 to Trait stones...

(Blinks)

Huh. Yeah, one point missing.

...I would have THOUGHT that I would have given 3 to the Trait Stones, 2 to the Shell, and 1 to Star Steel...

Huh.

Anyone better at math than me got any further observations about this?

Other than: I think this proves that if there are any further repetitions of this, that each voting round might need to be tabulated in public after each round? Maybe with aliases for the voters to avoid later retaliation?

That was the right idea.

I just thought it would be obvious that there would be no orcs and no dwarves unless we made them first.

Guess it wasn't as obvious as I thought.

Alright. Well, that aside. I believe the thought was after the world got created, we might do something with it?

That or wipe everything and try again?

Anyone got a story idea?

I don't have time to GM, but if one of you were to GM, I might play, depending on the type of system...

Tell you what, if one of you would even CO-GM, I might be willing to set things up for a game...

As for starting over, I'd be good with that too...

What systems would even work for this world, where you need both new races and classes.

I can understand the relative ease of Races. Classes are a different story entirely.

I could pretty easily work up something PBTA-like-- or easier yet, FATE-like

Alas, for me, GURPS was ruined by a toxic player and a bad campaign my first time with it. I've never felt a desire to give it a second chance.

But in a similar vein, Chaosium's BRPS could also work here as it does not use classes. You could easily use some of its mechanics to represent following certain paths though.

Otherwise, FATE might be interesting though I am somewhat new to that system.

GURPS for me was ruined by my reading a few books and trying to understand it.

I know nothing of Chaosium's BRPS (I may look it up inna minute here.)

FATE still seems like a good bet...

Ugh, no, that's not for me.

I like user-friendly stuff. Still holding out for PBTA, FATE, maybe just CaltropCore.

Or, of course, starting all over.

We could wipe the slate clean and go fantasy again, or do space sci-fi this time...?

Ok I'll be honest. I don't think I'll be good at progression, and never gm'd before. Work gets in the way at times and my worries at others, But I'll be willing to co-Gm.

How to move from one scene to another, how long any many scenes are needed between each point and so on and so forth.

Ahhh. Well just ask me questions, and I'll answer.

1. Basically when it feels like there's nothing left that's interesting to do in a scene, it's time to move to another. You can ask the players, "Is there anything further you want to do here?"

2. The second part is somewhat up to the players... see how long they want to play things out.

You'll pick it up. Being a GM is the only solution I've found to the RPol problem of GMs who just disappear due to RL problems...

Okay so the next thing to decide is system. I've shown examples of Fate and Caltropcore (although if one has had no exposure to FATE I'd understand if one might need slightly more explanation)... I could also show how an PBTA (like Dungeon World) character might look...

What do you think, Xadir?

I'd be fine with Caltropcore, though i do believe the Stats are a bit too basic for my liking.

It seems a lot less nightmarish then fate at least. god I understood gurps when I first read it, fate is just awful.

Well, MORE stats, perhaps?

Forceful
Agile
Insightful
Charming

?

Or, let's see...

Forceful (STR and CON)
Agile
Intelligence
Wisdom
Charisma

?

Or the good ol' STR/DEX/CON/INT/WIS/CHR?

I like Forceful/Agile/Insightful/Charming myself, but I can flexible about this...

Re: OOC Thread

Tell me if i'm an idiot. I am that all the time.

Does it make sense to have chaos and law magic being stats with them being selectively available based on class?

Hapid Gladiators use mild uses of chaos magic, while say Frogs are more prone to law magic. Allowing different sources of power, some might not be able to use it at all, others in mild ways a 1, others are decent or advanced practitioners a 2, or a 3?

I might just be a fool, and missing the point though.
