Tyranny of Dragons

Dragon fire threatens to consume Faerûn! Do you dare oppose the Cult of the Dragon
and resist the might of Tiamat, Queen of Dragons?

Welcome to Tyranny of Dragons. This adventure will cover two thrilling tales, Hoard of the Dragon Queen and The Rise of Tiamat, combining them into a single campaign-spanning adventure.

The adventure is set in the Forgotten Realms on Faerûn’s western shore—the Sword Coast. A thin strip of civilization stretches down this coast, where widely spaced cities are arranged like beads on a string. Roads loosely connect the cities that stretch from Luskan in the north to Calimport in the south, passing through Neverwinter, Waterdeep, Baldur’s Gate, and other ports along the way.

Tyranny of Dragons

This will be the entire Tyranny of Dragons campaign (Hoard of the Dragon Queen and The Rise of Tiamat) run in the 5e system with pre-approved homebrew allowed. Game play will focus more on the story itself rather than on the game mechanics.

GROUND RULES:
1) This is a cooperative campaign. I have no objection to you playing your character as you feel best fits your vision but not at the expense of anyone else's enjoyment.

2) Characters, for the most part, will be expected to stay on task (i.e. - stay together); however, I will allow side quests as long as they fit within the game narrative as a whole.

3) Players will be expected to adhere to their character's alignment. There may be repercussions for alignment shifts.

4) I will do my best to not allow a TPK; however, it is incumbent on you, the players, to think critically and tactically before engaging in battles, during battle turns and/or fleeing if you have gotten in over your heads.

5) It is expected that you will try to post at least every other day (but no less than twice a week) unless you let me know beforehand that you will be unavailable.

6) The story will continue when all players post or after four days from the most recent GM post. If the continuation of the story requires input from a character without a post, a post will be made on behalf of the player by the GM.

7) If a player doesn't post (or contact the GM) for seven consecutive days, their character will become a NPC and may be reassigned to a new player.

8) Battle will be handled similar to tabletop. You will roll your initiative and include the roll in your post with your intended actions and results of action rolls.
